I noticed it in your more recent videos, maybe it was being done before too, but I'm loving the sound files overlayed on the stills and slow-mo shots. It really helps you feel the captured scene with a lot more depth.
The fact you can just shoot through the fence like that without a care in the world is so crazy to me. Bad ass camera work! ❤
It's really common. 400mm+ lenses like he was using don't show any objects that close to the lens. They just blur out completely.
Did you know your nose is always in your line of sight? Your eyes and brain just choose to ignore it. Doesn’t help with anything just a random fact lol.

Great video, great information. I photograph high school sports for Maxpreps and have started photographing college as well. I have a friend with a family member extremely high up in NASCAR and after seeing my work asked if I was interested in doing a NASCAR race. On the technical side you mentioned a couple of interesting tips
1. Eye protection. Understand the rocks being thrown up and glasses are a must. How do you protect your lens. Do you shoot until the lead car is close then you cover the lens???
2. For the blurred panning shots. What are your settings. F2.8 1/100 (or lower)
You have an eye for what makes a photo.

Not only are you an inspiration to us armatures your incite on what to look for while your shooting in your vids is Amazing. I would like to learn a bit more about top fuel dragsters how to capture the moment. this weekend will be the last NHRA racing at Wild Horse Pass and what I have is a Canon 7DMK2, Canon 5DMK4 600mm, 100-400mm, 24-105MM and a couple kits lens. I'll be in the crowd standing at the wall and hoping for the best! LOL Any advice would be great.
