You know, each of the villains in this game has had a thematic element. Stefano's was blood, Theodore's was fire. I Wasn't sure about Myra's until I saw her robe has a thin cloth net under the slime. From the clouds of dust, to the slimy monster, to the plaster of Paris cloak, her theme is plaster.
There's a deeper meaning to it all. For Stephano, the red is allllways too bright, a vibrant dye to cover his canvases of flesh. There's almost an aesthetic to all his designs, all captured for timeless posterity with his camera. Meanwhile, Theodore's fire imposed a sense of both damnable torment and religious purification, heaven and he'll together. However, like his own shroud of religion, the flames are all ways false, illusions that cause no real harm and are scattered before those strong of mind. As for Myra, plaster is a very telling theme. Though it can be used to create, it's most common use is in repairing that which is damaged, like her own family. Another common use is to wrap thing in plaster sheets, protecting that which is fragile and expensive from harm, just as she plans to do for her daughter.
It also looks like Myra has candle wax dripping on her face and nails, kinda like back when they used to seal letters with wax stamps. I think they included that, maybe I could totally wrong, to kinda seal her daughter away from harm and kinda put her in a protective barrier from all the people who want to harm her.
Mmh i am more of an rpg type guy, i thought light for stefano, since he uses flash and his levels are always in the dark or illuminated by the giant camera,theodore with fire for the reason you said and myra with ice, as contrast to theodore, and also maybe indicating her cold demeanor

Soo accordingly to the wiki, the white goop is called Psychoplasm? And that it's linked to the psyche, as she can manipulate it at will?
I think the main thematic then would be:
-Flesh (blood, and he is linked to his physical creations)
-Soul (fire, and the whole motif of a guru trying to elevate themself by sacrificing their faithful)
-Mind (psychoplasm, and the whole thing that she found and protected her dughter by sheer strenght of mind)
As of, you know, the tri-entity of the human body
Plaster, or maybe also something else. Sebastian talking about her maternal instincts led me to think that it probably also doubled for...........milk. :P

But can we hold on for a moment and appreciate how sebastian went full badass on the priest? I mean seriously the moment when he got fed up with all this bullshit and fucked up the chainsaw wielding sadist? :D

One of the few games that had me tear up a little. Seb really did go to hell and back twice. Lost his family, friends, job, damn near his sanity. At one point he had nothing left. No one. Imagine how hard that was to watch him go through as his wife. Doing everything you could to save your guys daughter. The game has its flaws but man do they really show you the strength of someone who’s got nothing left to lose.
The survivors of this must have been freaking out when this happened. I mean, think about it. Their town went from normal town to zombieland, then to hellhole, and finally to jizztopia.

Ive got a feeling we might get 2 DLCs
1: Joseph’s story, shows the aftermath and how did he managed to get out of stem alive. Then it maybe leaves a major cliffhanger.
2: Kidman is going to destroy all the remains of mobius agents, you can tell from her eyes at the end after she looked at the scar on her hand or probably trying to save jojo because he might be captured and locked in another mobius facility.
It would be nice to know what happened to Sykes after you help him in his side-quests. I mean, either we see him leaving STEM, or he gets trapped in the unknown layer of STEM and then maybe uses his knowledge and skills to get out.

But the most important question is:
Where's Sykes?
I am guessing in the deeper level of STEM. Perhaps it was Sykes and others stuck in that lower level that rebooted STEM at the end of the credits - a safeguard or something against Mobius Operatives getting stuck in STEM should a technical failure shut it down?
Did Sykes still have his chip in his head? He might have gotten fried.

That final battle hit close to home. As a child from divorced parents, I can say that that was a pretty accurate custody battle.

Perfect choice of song on the developer's part, "Ordinary World". The song's meaning of someone trying to escape from their circumstances and survive in a new world, fits really well with Sebsation's struggle within BOTH games; not only to escape STEM, but to escape from the life that was falling apart around him, and survive. I'm happy that he got the ending he deserved, and I hope that even if the franchise continues I hope at least his and Lily's chapters are over.
JoJo on the other hand though...
All I want is a third game of Jojo and Sykes down in sub-Stem causing chaos and finding a way out, that's all I want

The Ambush description said everything you needed to know

When Kidman showed her palm in the ending video after the credits it made me think that the Lily Sebastian has is just a clone and Kidman is the really Lily

I don't know the significance, but iirc, near the end of her DLC campaign, her hand had a big L(?) shaped mark on her hand, which the big boss of mobius also seemed to have.

I love how the first game ended like that. I mean, we know Stefano and Theodore definitely died in EW2; yet _Ruvik_ survived EW1 and got what he wanted, so he technically _won._
The gameplay of these games is phenomenal but the storyline is a fucking mess, probably done on purpose so you buy as much DLC to fill what plot holes they leave out smh

Technically Ruvik (while admittedly crazy) just wanted to be left alone with his research and then Mobius showed up and fucked that poor guy up more than ever. He had an abusive/neglectful father, a distant mother, the only family member that cared about him was his sister (that they imply he was in love with) and she got burned to death by weirdo villagers for no fucking reason and he was left horribly burned and alone (emotionally). Then when he was just trying to live the remainder of his life in peace, Mobius comes claiming to help him with his research but instead stealing it and trapping him as a brain in a jar for their own personal gain. I’d go nuts too if I were him. I honestly feel bad for the guy.

This sequel is what I call a gaming MASTERPIECE ! Bethesda fixed everything wrong with the first game and made this sequel grandiose. Be it story telling, graphics, gameplay, upgrade system or the highly welcome open environment, TEW2 revels in everything. And the last few chapters...I was literally so very emotional with all the facial expressions, the hardships of the family and the background music..it just made it a PERFECT ending. 3 years since this sequel came out, so I guess 2020 will be the year for TEW3. Would be waiting eagerly. Thank you Mark and thank you Bethesda/Tango Gameworks for giving me this experience.

Well to be precise... The first Evil Within game was in development since 2010 and was released in 2014. So it was a 4 year gap. This one took 3 years because the original director stepped down. So maybe 2020 or 2021.
As a sequal yes, as a game yes but in terms of survival horror, it lacked severely in the horror aspect and found the enemies comical at best. Tew1 was buggy to hell, but I found the challenge and gameplay much more better than its sequal. I'm one of the few who enjoyed the Laura fights and Amalgam alpha fight very challenging but epic especially in Akumu mode. TEW2 lacked severely in boss fighting.
I think it's trash. There wasn't enough Soup 😜

llm7676 - Well it's your opinion. I don't want to start out on a debate to prove myself right. But ask any player who played both, majority of them would say the horror elements are actually better in this game than the 1st game. Secondly, a separate upgrade and crafting system made a lot more sense than the same gel used to increase your stamina and your ammo capacity. Lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY..this sequel told a story and answered a lot of questions left blank in the first game. And boss fights are just a means to an end, not the fulcrum to judge. Again, just my opinion like yours. For me TEW2>>>>TEW1. And for a check, the steam ratings NEVER lie. You can compare both and see the stark difference in opinions around both the games. Coz they are miles apart. Again, you can always differ. PEACE.

What happened to Leslie? Leslie ended up having Ruvik's powers at the end of the first game. There's so much more I don't understand of what Ruvik wanted out of Leslie despite a vessel????
I really want a DLC of either Leslie and Joseph. I miss Jojo so much... Joseph was so important to Sebastian, even Tatiana said that he's been ignoring something important.
Leslie is actually Ruvik now. That's why he was walking all slow and Ruvik-y at the end before vanishing.
I kind of want to see Jojo seeking out Ruvik to ask him about the lower levels of STEM, just so they can get Sykes and anyone else lost in there out of the system. ...I swear, Ruvik would be a great guide. Always snarking like a backseat driver. XD

To be honest he probably would. He may have been a “psychopath” but he was literally driven mad. He had a fucking awful life. He had an abusive/neglectful father, a distant mother, the only family member that he cared about/cared about him was his sister (which they imply he was in love with) and she was burned to death in their barn by random crazy villagers for no fucking reason. Leaving him horribly burned and alone (emotionally). Then his relationship with his parents only got worse from there (they probably blamed him for what happened to his sister) and he ends up killing them (they seemed to mentally torture the kid before but since his burns? That poor guy must’ve gotten constantly abused) then all he wanted after that was to live his life in peace alone and do his research. But then Mobius shows up offering to “help” with his research, only to steal his work, remove his brain and put it in a jar, and kill his body so he can never escape as they use his work for their own personal gain. I don’t know about you but I’d be a fucking murderous psychopath too if that all happened to me (he wasn’t that old either probably only in his 20’s and having his life literally stolen away from him in every single way shape and form) now that he’s free with an unburned body he probably doesn’t really care about murder and such. For all we know he’s back on his farm poking at a squirrel brain in his little lab/playing his piano.
Eeliah Tucker the powers come from mentally unstable people, sociopaths, phycopaths, because of Leslie’s mental problems he had some powers like Rubik, but Leslie’s mind was weak because of insanity
I think their will be a dlc with Sykes forsure... and if Joseph is perhaps in a deeper part of stem maybe Sykes will find him? I agree with everyone else though. I still need some more insight on the first game. Joseph, Ruvik, and Leslie, etc.... I'm almost thinking with the computer at the end it was either Sykes or Myra. More than likely Sykes though. It'd be awesome if he ended up saving Myra and they're trying to get out together. Or who knows maybe Ruviks come back in Leslie's body and found the old Mobius head quarters and is starting stem back up again?! I though personally think Joseph is outside of stem. Because at the end of the first game I'm pretty sure they got all the people out? I'm almost thinking they got him locked up somewhere and he's like a Mobius slave working for them or something.... SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!!!!

Honestly, the thought of a papier mache enemy/monster/boss/whatever Myra is, is REALLY interesting to me for some reason. I don't think I've ever seen it done before. Her clothes and being made of mesh is a really nice touch, even if looking at those eyes makes me feel a little queasy.
She's made from plaster of paris actually, hence her desire to 'fix' everything.
Just binge watched all 38 episodes. Loved all of them. Mark and Jacksepticeye are the only ones I watch that do Let's plays.

I have to agree - EW2 was *way* better than the original game! The first game was pretty fun, but this was taking all the best parts from the first game, cranked them up to 11, and then added even more stuff that they also had cranked up to 11. And the story made SENSE and it hurt your heart and everything was connected together so well. They really did such a great job with this one and the nice thing about it is it looks exactly as fun for you to play as it is for us to watch, which is often hard to find in games these days!
In short: wheeee! Good series!
The original game was may more scarier then this
I actually preferred the first game since it had only one main villain - that way Ruvik got more backstory and a lot more personality than the _three_ main villains in this game did. EW1 also had a lot more "mindfuck scenery jumping" happening than EW2 and, to be fair, it was very confusing in a good way - it did a perfect job at showing how unpredictable and muddled Ruvik's mind was.
Stefano, Theodore and the third boss had so little screen time that they felt more like cannonfodder bosses than a real threat. I never felt the kind of dread from their cutscenes that I got during the first game...
Not to mention the "battle companions" in EW2 suck compared to Jojo. Torres couldn't even kill anything on her own, while Jojo sometimes stole kills from Seb. ...Speaking of the NPCs, I didn't feel any kind of attachment to any of them - unlike in the first game where Jojo, Kid and Leslie were nearly always present and had a lot of relevance.
I always here that but I prefer the original. I think it had better-developed storylines for each character, even minor ones like Dr. Jimenez. though I do prefer the gameplay in this one, like the sneaking, and the ending was so much feels...

This was an awesome game I'm definitely planning on getting this game because wow just wow! It's an amazing game!
Now, what have we learned in this play through? Well...
1. Semen Demons are more scary than you think
2. Milk and soup go together
3. Sebastian might have ALS or some weird shit like that
4. Mobius also was present in the "Prey" play though since they apparently developed the "gloo launcher"
5. The only thing to fear is the one and only "spookin' chair"
6. Sebastian loves taking his time, especially when someone is dying
7. Kidman is Lily confirmed
8. The leader of Mobius = The G-man from half-life confirmed

The mark (wound) on Kidman's hand is from the first game's dlc (when she joined mobius ). And now since the scar has healed ..it says that she is no longer a part of mobius .

I do too. it's really good. out of the first and the second I think the second one is a bit better in story and graphics. the first was amazing just confusing on the story in some parts and there were some glitches in some area's of the game while the second has two glitches and don't mess up the game as bad and the story is taking it step by step and explains whats going on. I love the game so far, but I'm really excited for the third game and the DLC. just waiting for it.
The first game was made to be confusing because it was Sebastian's first time in to the unknown STEM . This time around Sebastian is like a veteran ...and that's why this part tells the story much better .....the best part about all this is the thing that it's all open for interpretation....like did Sebastian really leave STEM ? is lily really alive ? ...it's open to our thinking ...it's nice

The evil within 2 was a sequel done perfectly. Open world aspect was such a nice feature, had such a blast looting around for ammo and supplies. The first play through of this game was scary as fuck no joke, i played it with my friend in a dark room with surround sound headsets to get the best experience out of it. That fucking ghost lady, laura reborn are top tier monsters and horrifying definitely had some scary bits like the first person gas mask scenes, and action was well balanced with sick boss fights! Characters we expanded on like in the first evil within werent really that interesting but now I actually like Sebastian this time around. Well done evil within 2, cant wait for the DLC when i get home from uni to play with my pals again ❤️
Although watching mark is a good way to see the game, id highly recommend it everyone whos a fan of survival horror!

If I recall correctly, there were other STEMs hooked up elsewhere. Maybe it's a different STEM? *shrug* Hell if I know, but I wouldn't rule it out.

My heart was legitimately pounding in suspense. This game is very good at conveying the message that no character is guaranteed protected by plot armor. It was very unpredictable who, if anyone, would make it out. Very exciting. Incredible story.

Though I guess the battle with previous bosses and Sebastian going badass makes up for that. Still kind of peeved but yeah I feel like a spartan kick followed with a bullet to the head would be a good way to kill him but the Ruvik one would be good too. Or that singing lady. That would be awesome
With Seb and Lily gone, Kidman shutting down Union, and the Director being dead, Ruvik is free to start again.
I was going back to watch the first game and In the beginning of the second episode on mark's channel you see Theodore's symbol on the wall in Sebastian's room, I haven't seen anyone talk about this in theories about the game
it wasn't technically his symbol. it was the symbol of Kidmans parent's cult.

I'm actually fairly certain her power was wax, like candle wax. That's why it was goopy, and yet hardened into statues. Also the way her clothes and attire looked like it had melted and hardened. Something probably psychologically related to the fire.
