ACT Mindfulness Skills for Chronic Pain

  • This is an exercise that explores using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) mindfulness skills to work with chronic pain symptoms. Drawing from Russ Harris's Dropping Anchor and Acceptance practices, we look at working with pain and focusing into valued actions in the present moment and also turning towards the pain to build acceptance skills. These are tools I find useful when working with clients in therapy facing pain and long term health conditions.
