    This is only an hour from my house and I have been going there for over forty years. I remember my dad carrying me on his shoulders across the log that went over the river when there was no bridge

    I’ve never been in a hot springs but it’s definitely on the list. Specifically the blue ones in Iceland that I think you had soaked in before this channel came about.

    Great stop! Any place where you can get the water works for me! My next road trip starts on the 15th.

    Hope you got your permit. Great looking hot springs. Do you not have a US Yearly Parks Pass? It gets you into all Nation Parks for day use and cover all US Fee Area Day Payments. I think it’s $80 per year but day fees are not cheap these days so always get one.

    Glad you had a place to relax and have a beer. I was just reading about that hot springs after I watched your video. It said it was clothing optional😳 ...hopefully you didn't stumble into that quagmire!😂

      I've lived in Douglas County most of my life, the hot springs are popular and clothing being optional is a feature that is often exploited.
      I remember the first time I was there a middle-aged man and I assume his younger wife came from behind the spring I was in and they were higher above me. I only glanced back at them at first but had the sun in my eyes so I didn't notice they were both naked until I started talking to them and looked back to give them eye contact and that's when I could see the whole show.
      Welcome to the Umpqua hotsprings.

    How far was the walk from parking lot to hot spring?

    • @BeerinBeautifulPlaces
      @BeerinBeautifulPlaces  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think less than a mile! Maybe a ten minute walk, especially if you don’t take a wrong turn like me!

    • @jennifergreen6109
      @jennifergreen6109 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a quarter mile but seems longer because it's a goat trail

    As far as I know, it's clothing optional, isn't it?

    • @BeerinBeautifulPlaces
      @BeerinBeautifulPlaces  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep! I don’t know what the official rule is, but there were definitely nakey people there

      @@BeerinBeautifulPlaces as far as I know, there is no federal law against nudity in the USA (only laws in the different states, except Vermont and State of Washington). National parks are national territories, so nudity is not forbidden.

    Beware of nude people and don’t wear your slippers going there. I saw people slipping down the hill.
