I have a question if Jeremy was the hunter of vampires and everything magical why was he not stronger than them . I understand he needed to train how to hunt shouldn't he got stronger in time , I feel like he really wasn't training and by the time he needed to be stronger he didn't know how to take care of himself that's why he got killed by Silas so easily because he wasn't training like he was supposed to on the show . He did a couple things and the Hunter then it wasn't talked about again then they was on the island where he was trying to protect Bonnie and him then all the sudden Catherine comes and the strong enough to make Jeremy go over so Silas can suck at his blood and kill him . I felt like Jeremy should have been strong enough to fight Catherine off him or fight Silas at least apprentice enough to get him and Bonnie the situation they was in . I know the good guy doesn't win all the time but come on sometime give them a Fighting Chance .
So based on my understanding, Jeremy's abilities were enhanced to the peak of human condition basically he and the other members of The Five were faster and stronger than any human. However it doesn't necessarily means he's faster or stronger than vampires. I agree he didn't train for enough like he was suppose to, mostly due to Klaus rushing him and Damon to get better. The only vampires Jeremy actually got experience fighting were newer vampires who didn't have much experience themselves. Jeremy fighting/defeating Kol was pure plot armor by the writers. Basically Jeremy's lack of actual training and experience was what led to Katherine overpowering him. The other members of the Five had prior experience with the military or other sources prior to awakening their hunter side. Jeremy was still a teenager and lacked the proper trainer to be able to do anything. After he was raised from the dead was when he started to receive more training which was done by Alaric who was a far better teacher.

I really don't know, and I don't get why people hate Matt so much. I actually liked him, and yeah he seemed Dickish at times but he had to make tough decisions.... Especially with some of his friends being Supernatural, but also trying to protect the innocent people of his town. Honestly if I was his shoes, I'd severally struggle with those decisions.
