Another word for Picturesque
It always amazes me how far the French are when it comes to transport infrastructure compared to the UK. You will never see this much development , order and organization of the roads in the UK. It's a more chaotic picture. Traffic jams galore, never-ending roadworks, speed cameras, speed limits, silly gantry signs warning drivers of " reports of animals on the motorway" , lane closures and so on.
France is streets ahead of the UK but Paris (is always a problem) , Lyon and Bordeaux are problems at peak times.
Spain and Portugal have very good motorways most of which are toll free. Traffic problems and speed cameras are very rare here in Almeria, Spain where I live
