I’ve only watched 55 mins so far, but it’s a beautiful drive, and I just wanted to say thank you for your patience with the sheep. They’re lovely, gentle creatures, and I really appreciated your not harassing or frightening them.
Good day. Thank you so much for both passes. I saw both passes for the first time and received great pleasure from what I saw. Enjoyed and liked of course. Bravo! Greetings and gratitude from country Azerbaijan
Ah I love this. It's a great advert for the Tesla Model 3 Performance if nothing else, but more than that, it's a super thing to do in the midst of Pandemic Chaos. I can't think of anything I'd rather do now than get in the car and head off to make the same trip. I mean, it's only 15 hours from here... I'm sure those warning lights on the dashboard of my aged Lexus don't REALLY mean anything. Oh yes, great that there's no stupid music on it. Ignore anyone that says 'add some nice music', that would have destroyed it. Summary: a great thing to do, again, with chaos all around, celebrating all the technology available to us now that made it possible - and sharing this remarkable landscape - on such a perfect day too - with the rest of us. Thanks! Do more.
Thanks for the ride along. I did almost the same route in 2017 on my motorcycle. Spent the night before in Villach and headed back into Austria at Tarvisio and went along the valley to Dobbiaco and then down to Arabba. I skipped the Mangart, but had ridden it a few years earlier. It's nice to have someone else driving so that I can sightsee.
Deeply thank you for uploading this beautiful scenery road trip ! I will go to road trip here after finished COVID-19. Please be safe from COVID-19 everyone who watches this video. Thanks again from Vancouver, Canada.
Excellent video! Especially like no music, no words. It was perfect. I love driving high alpine roads but wow! the Mangart Saddle would be the utmost ever. Sweaty palms the first time but the second time I'm thinking....I could do this and love it! The mountain goats are precious. Baaa is baaa in any language.
Now THAT was an experience!! Thank you for taking us along on yet another thrilling road trip. I’m sorry that people occasionally complain about the video quality, rude IMHO. I’m just thankful to see these beautiful roads.👍👍
WOW...!!! I let the whole thing run while I was working and it was getting better and better, and better, and better, what a trip...!!! The title really doesn't do this video justice. It was amazing!!!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful drive. Absolutely stunning landscape. Although I plan to go to Villach, Im not sure I have the guts for this drive - some of it seems pretty scary.
Absolutely glorious scenery and thank you! Keep up the great work. Loving the sheep at 35.00 LOLOL Can't wait for more and more! But by the way ***You would probably beat **#LewisHamilton** in the Monte Carlo Grand Prix*** LOLOL
Hi, wonderful drive, thanks for posting! I am glad to see that there are more and more creators doing high quality road videos. I also started this year, 2 month before you :) I tried to drive on Würzenpass 2 weeks ago, unfortunately it is open just for austrians and slovenes now. I had to make a detour via Tarvisio instead, as Karavanken Tunnel was no option (2h waiting time). Subbed to your channel and saved about 15 movies in watch later, now I am preparing some popcorn :)
Honestly, the Mangart Saddle doesn't look as scary as everyone says, other than maybe if you needed to back up or make way for another full size car at one of those unguarded breaks and had a rental size car you aren't familiar with. Just take it slower during the tight parts. Maybe I would be saying otherwise if I actually did it. Love your channel. Some of these drives may never happen for me so it's great to experience them this way.
Servus! ...we've spent every summer 3-6 weeks at faaker see from 90 to 2004... and 96 i had my very first, own "experience" with the "wurzn" and my Golf II 55PS... in first gear slowly uphill and in first gear and FULL smokey brakes downhill till the last "auslaufzone" - that corner you've seen the "into first gear picture on the right side - and then; all the way down without breaking as possible... years and years... always a great experience!!! - and WHY did we that so much in the old days, with our old cars, you may ask?! - it's really simple; in the 90ties, the house on top of the pass, between the borders was DUTY free... and one of the cheapest place in southern europe to buy tabak and very gooood booooze and fuel/gasoline! ;) - Thanks a lot for this great Ride and flashback to my youth 30 years ago! LG from Munich, Tom
The Vrsic pass is also known as the Russian Road (Ruska cesta), referring to the approximately ten thousand Russian prisoners of war used as labourers in the 1915 construction. Just off the main road, on the north side of the pass, at an elevation of around 1,200 m (3,900 ft), there is a Russian Orthodox chapel, built by the Russian POWs to commemorate their comrades who died during the road construction. The road was used to bring supplies to the Soča Front (Isonzo battle) in WW1 with the Austrian-Hungarian army facing the Italian army across the Soča river valley between 1915 and 1917. The drive also saw the remains of the Austro- Hungarian fort at Kluže. There were approximately 300,000 Italian deaths and 200,000 (incl. 30,000 ethnic Slovenes) Austro-Hungarian deaths. Ernest Hemingway’s A Farewell to Arms is partly about this time. Travel certainly makes one think!
Hi. Nice video. Thx for sharing. one question: what we do when a car is coming in the opposite direction since the road is too narrow?? I want to drive to Mangard Sattle but I must confess that I am scared....
Hi Delane, sometimes it's going to be tight :-) When I was there, all drivers anticipated well, and I didn't have to back up at any time. There are many points on the road (just) wide enough for 2 cars. Well worth the drive in my opinion!
This is the best auto drive video I've seen in Europe. Love that the drive is not on main highways.
how calm and relaxing is this driving in heaven
Praise tha Lord...Pray for All....Amen.
