This video is a joy to watch. Boris is such a skilful performer that he can explicitly signpost that he's being "slightly hyperbolical but basically serious". It's a clever line, the one about a scholarship endowed by Henry VI being a state education: it is very offensive to his ideological opponents, while it plants the idea that state action, and philanthropy, can take many forms.
Just because you go to an international school in Brussels does not mean that the UK belongs in the EU, which is run on an old german foreign policy model called Limited Sovereignty. It's not about independent nations.
Because many of them come out as classist assholes who look down on the lesser privileged; why not look into Boris' membership of the Bullingdon Club as proof.

Yes! When you were nine years old you were thinking and not watching Sponge Bob Square Pants. High register grammar? Yes! Knowing the rules of rhetoric? Yes!
Could an interviewer ever ask a neutral question and then listen to the answer? Do people imagine that children choose their school, or their parents' income, or their IQ, or anything at all?
I think the interviewer did a good job...Boris's whole life has been an act. He's in number 10, living with his girlfriend, while married to another woman...and even Wikipedia doesn't know how many children he has, he doesn't mention them does he? It beggars belief that people think he can represent or even understand the real life experience of normal families.
@@iseeolly9959 I've spent much of this weekend reading Tom Bower's biography of Boris Johnson. He was badly affected by his father's physical and emotional abuse of his mother; he was badly affected by his mother having a nervous breakdown and going to hospital for eight months; his upbringing was largely chaotic and often poor because his feckless father wouldn't or couldn't keep a job. He grew up for a few years on a farm while his father worked abroad: his mother got a lift to go food shopping once a month and the food was mouldy and off long before the next shop. He got into Eton on a scholarship for being the best Latin and Greek student at his school. He's carrying around a lot of wounds.
@@aquienpuedaimportar3028 bless you for that information. He carries it lightly because of his intelligence but he is no doubt wounded. He said his mother voted Brexit - so he is paying tribute to her.

What would Boris know about right and wrong. Even had an affair on his wife while she was fighting cancer. Fighting cancer is so so hard. You need every little piece of help to get instead of being cheated on. Sicko

Easily pleased with the best, Harry.
I’m an American teacher and agree on grammar instruction. And it’s ok to make students work hard.
It's absolutely necessary.
Sure, Mr. Gradgrind. Yours is the sound of oppression...

I've had state school all my life, but I'm not salty or mistrustful towards people who go to Eton - why should anyone be?

He played the only role that suits him..Had he been an actor, he would have gained the golden globe.
To be a good poiticion you must be a good actor, its however not sufficient for excellence in office
He looks like a golden globe 😂

This man is dangerous and useless as we have all found out but the absolute best canvasser for Scottish independence😉
