    you complain about citroen's reliability, but fails to notice that the engine and running gear are supplied by toyota - a brand which is renowned for its reliability.

    Great review. My 68 horsepower C1 does really well on the motorway, feels nice and steady even at 120 km/h (75.4 mph), although wind may affect it a bit. Not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination but it drives well on my country lanes. The build quality is Toyota.

      I agree. I've got the 1.0 and once up to 70mph or so it doesn't feel like it's struggling at all and is relatively refined and quiet. Does struggle on hills and overtaking is sketchy but what does one expect? It's a nice little car to drive and I've had zero problems.

    Believe this or not my wife and I who are not small people have recently purchased a 2017 plate 1.0 vtr feel as a second car mainly for me and im blown away with the head and width space in the driving cab area.Very comfortable and drives very well with no blind spots.Even with 4 people in the car our little 1.0 ltr is still nippy and and get up to 60 on a carriage way pretty quickly without embarassment We have two children which there is enough leg room for about 3 years of growth (aged 10 and 8 ) before we decide to upgrade.Downside is adults will struggle in the back.Running costs dead cheap and over 450 miles on a full tank £46 to fill.👍💪.

      Steve ibb Correct. Im 48, had loads of small cars, but not one of these new C1, Aygo, 108 models. Im looking to get a cheap shopping car and this seems a good buy. Had the new Aygo as a courtesy car and even though only 1 litre, it was very nippy, good acceleration up to 50mph due to it being very light and fun to drive. Ive had Audis and allsorts of fancy fast cars but to be honest, I cant justify a pricey car these days. Only do about 3000 miles a year.

    Well I've heard the 1.0 is the better engine. It's got a timing chain instead of a belt on the 1.2 and it's a Toyota engine not a french one. 74 mpg is possible on longish runs at 50 odd mph I've personally achieved similar numbers but realistically 60+ is more doable day to day depending on the roads and how you drive it.

      The point is that the vast majority of drivers don't really need the 1.2 extra cost. Don't forget emissions, tax insurance, etc. Making the 1.0L the real champion.
      On the older model there was a similar approach with a diesel in the collection.
      Same, same! It didn't justify and the diesel sales quickly showed that. ;-)

    This idea that a car is an absolute no-no without an AC is rubbish and over-exaggerated. I bought a C1 last November and it came without AC (special offer - saved €1600 off the original price but came without LED lights, rev counter and AC). I must say that during the summer months it is quite airy when driving with the windows half down or full down. Yes having an AC is a luxury and IS more comfortable but you will definitely survive without it. Without AC you save lots of fuel.

      I have driven a C1 for 12 years and it has 230.000 km. I travelled all around Europe with it and had no problem. I payed only for oil, filters every 15.000 km and gas.

      That's because your Citroen was a full on Citroen. The C1 isn't. The chassis and running gear are Toyota.

      +Londonfogey yes i was going to ask u need aircon were i live in Australia were it hits 40c often but in the uk ?

    • @Londonfogey
      @Londonfogey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MegaRyan123456 I suppose if you use the car every day for long stop-start urban journeys in southern England you might appreciate aircon. Eg in London in summer it can get very humid and uncomfortable sometimes. But for about 50 weeks of the year you don't need AC. Then again I'm a spartan type and don't even like having heating on in the car in winter - I prefer to drive with the window open!
