- The Citroen C1 used to be a smart pick if you were after a cheap and cheerful city car. The latest version isn't content with being a budget option; it's tilting at the class lead. With improved comfort, new safety and connectivity equipment, and a new-generation engine, it's in with a shot.

Watching this in 2024 this is a very enjoyable video which more or less has it all in a nutshell.
I recently took a break from driving as the constant anti-motorist measures and the annual MOT/Tax/Insurance/servicing dance was getting annoying. But after 7 months the downsides of not having a car began to irk us a bit, so we bought a used (2016) C1 puretech Flair 82 hp. Impressed! OK, it's fairly basic after our Picanto Turbo, but it's nice to drive and Citroen's own 1.2 litre engine pulls amazingly well even from low revs. It rarely feels short of power. The clutch biting point is a bit high, which sometimes makes me 'kangaroo' a bit and the lack of parking sensors is annoying (although it has a camera), but neither of these is a deal-breaker. We chose a three-door one as we always think small cars look better without the extra 2 doors crammed in. Ours is all black and looks really good when it's polished-up. Great review.
Thank you for this very detailed report.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent review - only spoilt by the advertising band across the lower 3rd of the screen whih can block out part of what is being discussed - the hatch & the lights sometimes for example.
I've just got rid of my MK1 5 door and have been considering a mk2 3 door -- I think this video has shown me not to bother. it's a shame, because the longer front doors are a bit sportier looking, especially on the cars in a two-tone finish.
Wow! I think I just watched "Citroen C1..The Movie"
