He was gorgeous but I always consider height in terms of the need to get off and back on while trail riding. My limit is 15.3. Used to be 16.0 but dang this shrinking as I age is eye popping. I don’t want to hunt for tree stumps or rocks to get back on. He was gorgeous though.
The horse that was 17 hands did not look that big until you walked next to him. That’s a really tall horse. I think he’s moving nicely and I really like the overall feel 😊
I like how Kyle is drawn to the ponies, LOL! I know how he feels ... my parents never let me have a pony, worried that I would get too attached and be heartbroken when I outgrew them. Only full-size horses for me throughout childhood, but I still want a pony as an adult. ❤ 😊 🐴
I know Shae is always looking for a big horse for Kyle and he’s always looking at little ponies! I’ll bet he really wanted one when he was a kid and couldn’t have one!
I have seen those marks before on some ex racehorses at 10:28. It looks to be scars from a treatment called pin firing. Pin firing is a treatment for different kinds of leg injuries like tendon and ligament injuries and stuff. It's not a very common treatment anymore as there are much better ways of treating these injuries, but some people still do it....... Which is weird
@@mandycook9037 I love that, send some sane lawmakers to the states please! I have never seen the procedure done personally, just the scars left behind but I have always thought of it to be rather barbaric. Thankfully, I have only seen this twice before in the last 10 years, so it is very very uncommon but in my opinion should absolutely be a punishable offense by law.
I have to say, the Morgan horse was realy nice. My second horse was a Morgan & quarter horse, she was so gentle. I named her sue. After I moved out my dad sold her & she was put in a pasture with her twin babies. She WAS the BEST Hoese I ever had.
Your auction searches are so informative! Yes, you are absolutely correct...you have to be picky at an auction. Yes, it sucks to have to pass up a what-could-be amazing horse with just 1 or few small flaws. But, again, its a complete gamble. Ive not been to an auction in over 20 years. Last time we did, we came home with my Ranger, who was just 9 months old at the time. He's almost 22 now.
I was just thinking “man I could go for an auction video” and here you are coming through 😂 I’m a window shopper so I love to watch you browse the sales
What a busy schedule 3 auctions in 25 hours. What an admirable focus you both have on your mission, passion, care and consideration on the equine stock species. Good Luck and enjoy your auction adventure! ☮️💟❤️🐎🐈⬛❤️
You both look amazing; love your style sweet lady, living a life I must only DREAM of! My dad got me a horse, 9-10yo, happiest I'd EVER seen him, until I also saw my mom's face--- the next day he was gone, never allowed to mention. Yal are SO blessed! Peace to you! 🎉
Love seeing all the auctions. Also love the comments on the horses. I had a Missouri Fox Trotter that looked like a small Clydesdale. I sold him as I didn’t know what I was doing and he was a great trail horse. No time for a horse and didn’t want to ruin him. I just love them from afar.
That huge draft cross is gorgeous! I love tall horses so much!! I ride a 16.2 hand Suffolk punch gelding at my lesson barn named Cedar! Cedar is 12 years old. I don’t lease or own him sadly
I learn SO MUCH from your auction videos! (not information I necessarily NEED to know, as a NYC apartment dweller, but still!) That enormous black horse was a stunner....
That draft cross would definitely be the one I would personally choose if I had the room for him and was more experienced. But it’s always nice to dream ☺️ Those ponies are adorable and beautiful. Kyle is so right it’s a gamble. You find that one certain horse that fits what you want, you’re patient and not in a hurry. I love going along with you and getting your take on the different horses. Thank You for sharing and may you, Kyle and all your animals have a safe and Merry Christmas!
That little back pony was so cute i really thi k you needed him a little pony just hanging out with all your big horses just to be around! Its a good Luck charm to have a little black pony just like this one at the Auction 😮
He reminds me of Clyde cross that we had same size but was so smooth in the trot, could jump preliminarily fences xc , drive a carriage through heavy traffic, could do flying changes, trail ride, and pack kids around. Best horse we’ve ever owned. I haven’t finished video but I hope you buy him. If I were there I’d snatch him up!
I am only 5'2", but prefer a 16 hand horse. I like a longer back to sit on vs. a short, compact horse. My ex was 6'4", and he had a horse under 15 hands. If he tipped side to side, that horse almost fell over. Make sure your husband gets a horse for his size.
I'm in love with the giant Bay cross. All my Warmbloods were over 17 hh so that looks normal to me!! I'm a dressage rider and I would buy him, with a bit of work he would be an amazing mover. He naturally carries himself really well and had a really good brain from what I can tell. I love his thick neck!! I know this was a while a go but I'm seeing this for the first time and I would buy him in a heart beat, he seems like a gentle giant! I think I'm in love! lol
Thank you for taking us along for another interesting auction video.....The huge bay draft was beautiful, as was the huge black horse...i have a soft spot for the heavier set horses, the gypsy cob being my favourite and the one that gave me back my confidence following a nasty fall....i look forward to the next auction, the right horse is out there waiting for you, how lovely it would be if you could bring one home for Christmas 🎄...🐎
Thank you so much for taking us on your auction adventures. I get excited just as if I am there with you. Most moments make me happy but always a few that bring a tear to my eye. Happy holidays Shea and Kyle. You and the rest of the Free Spirit family are always in my prayers.💕🙏🏼
The white dots discoloring the hair on the one horse if it is true discoloration it could mean the horse was pin fired for an injury (Pin firing aka thermocautery). You see it a lot on race horses on the track. You would need to feel for scar tissue. You can look it up and see how those white areas look exactly like a pin firing treatment.
In the 1st sale, the white spaced squares on the back leg looked like he was pin fired. You’d see it a lot on thoroughbreds many years ago. Not sure if that was it or not. Very controversial procedure. Thanks for taking me along. Have a great day!
Your hair is great, the whole look is 🎉.Big boy is gorgeous. But he’s big, not an easy keeper, bring your rope ladder. Kyle needs a 4 pony hitch! He’d be driving champ.
I don't think I could handle going to an auction at this stage of the game, I'd be a hot mess!! At least these horses aren't in horrible shape like some of the auctions but I would end up falling in love with every horse and sobbing!! When I was young we saved a few horses from the meat truck, it was such a traumatic place. But you seem used to it and know what you're looking for. I hope you found a good one. I also fell in love with that giant black draft, that one had to be 18 hh+! I LOVE the big ones!! lol
Ive been waiting for the next auction vlog!! I rlly like to see how you look at how the horses are built and the tips you give are so so helpful! Thank you, you are really inspiring to both me and many other equestrians! You always cheer me up when you post, love your videos and your horses and ofc the other animals❤
I love gentle giants, my goal is to own one some day. Nothing fancy just trail riding and general equitation a retired working draft would be perfect. I already own a gentle giant dog and cat, next up is a horse.
Thank you for bringing me along on this auction. Love to see all the different kind of horses and what may be wrong with whatever we see. Nice to see that your husband is with you. You're a very lucky lady he is a very handsome man . More so when he is smiling
Cleveland Bay that’s a horse breed l haven’t heard in a long time Shae, so many beautiful horses in this video, let’s see what the next auction brings, tfs x Julie 🇬🇧
I loved all those horses! im a big fan of horses and used to have 3 horses but we sold them all. Im currently taking horse lessons atm which i love! anyway merry christmas!!
The big bay cross would sell here in Virginia for a big chunk of change to Foxhunters. Buy horses like him: Big (16 hands and +), draft cross= usually quiet ( to stand at checks and not go nuts on a run), big horses go over 3 ft coops like they are nothing. So, do rethink "big" horses. Also, some of those QH that stay under 14.3, ie 14.2, and under might make nice horse show ponies here in the "East". Teach them all to jump! With the ponies you need ones that have good manners with kids, and jump with nice"tight" knees, flying changes a must, and perfect conformation. Expect here that everyone Vets and xrays everything they look at. If they come here they will live in the lap of luxury for a horse!
Both those giant horses (the bay outside and the giant black one inside) were so gorgeous! Absolutely massive! I would have loved a horse like that, but yeah haha I can absolutely see that being too massive for some lol
He is beautiful!! Okay, the Morgan is very handsome! I had a Morgan. i LOVED HIM so much! Beautiful gates and wonderful disposition. Mac was stocky, like the old type stock.
Oh, I hope you get him. I love him so much. I understand about the size, though. Always great fun to come to auctions with you. Obviously I'm not all the way through yet, but loving every minute.
I love the big bay crossbred. He needs to be in my backyard. :) free moving shoulders, swinging trot, perfect low-mid level dressage horse for overweight lady who is 5'10...
I was really hoping that big boy would be going home with you! I am new to your channel, but from what I have seen so far, it seems that you have a definite preference for draft horses, or draft-mix horses.
Off topic, but I really smiled when I saw the Mennonite/Amish women and girls doing their thing at this auction. I'm so happy to know this is an activity that is open to Amish girls.
i saw quite a few that reminded me of your Mushu. I love following your videos. I have never been lucky enough to have a horse so watching your videos fills that void I have always had. Thank You so much. Oh and Happy Holidays to you and Kyle. Be safe ******
I think that big bay outside boy is beautiful he would’ve been perfect for my brother. My brother was 6‘3“ and a great rider.. the only thing I’m concerned about is how big its feet are you gonna be able to get a Ferrier to take care of those feet?
I’m early!!! So excited to watch the video! I’m trying my best not to look an other comments because I don’t want spoilers! Edit: The draft Cross is just.. So beautiful!
I am 5 ft tall and i love tall horses. My first horse i rode with a bareback pad and she was 16.2. Those talk black horses, my dream. Tall and black preferably a draft cross or a shire. With Kyle being larger and you doing lessons, a tall horse coukd be really good, especially for the students to learn on.

That 17 hand guy is gorgeous... what's 1 hand😉🤣
Kyle would look great on him!
He was gorgeous but I always consider height in terms of the need to get off and back on while trail riding. My limit is 15.3. Used to be 16.0 but dang this shrinking as I age is eye popping. I don’t want to hunt for tree stumps or rocks to get back on. He was gorgeous though.
That is such a beautiful websites love all the details😍
Name a horse Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh.
The mini Mushu was cute too! Could have taken them both; so cute to see the biggest and the smallest trotting along side by side🤪
That huge draft cross is the most beautiful horse ive ever seen gosh. Definitely my dream horse
He is gorgeous!
Id have to buy him!! He is perfect
To die for. And quite elegant for a horse of this size and built.
Hard to pass up on, for sure!
My size!
He is definitely a big horse! Makes you look small!
The horse that was 17 hands did not look that big until you walked next to him. That’s a really tall horse. I think he’s moving nicely and I really like the overall feel 😊
He was huge!
That gargantuan draft cross is absolutely gorgeous!! 😮
I actually laughed out loud when Kyle measured the horse against himself to determine it's height. My husband does that too! ❤😅

It's also very cruel it's been banned in England for quite some time now but a few unscrupulous traders still do it.

YEAHHH so excited, love you from the Netherlands Aww love love the giant brown draft!!! So gentle and sweet.
Hope you get a horse! Haha, you guys are even wearing your hats! You must feel really good about the auctions! I'll update once I'm done watching! 😊❤

I love how you look after your horses I do love bourses with colour ❤
Love, love love that huge cross bred draft horse. Absolutely gorgeous.
Even if that draft cross is huge, he's got a beautiful gait and head carriage. Couldn't stop watching him move.
He was very spectacular! But thinking of the overall height, it doesn’t make sense for myself, Kyle, or my students, he was just insanely large lol
@freespiritequestrian I agree there. Would certainly be a bit of a ways down of something didn't go right.
Buy the beautiful donkey, also guard the property! best looking donkey have ever seen!
That bay draught was absolutely stunning, but too big for most of what you want to do and it’d cost a fortune in feed!
That huge draft cross is gorgeous! I love tall horses so much!! I ride a 16.2 hand Suffolk punch gelding at my lesson barn named Cedar! Cedar is 12 years old. I don’t lease or own him sadly

The huge horse was simply gorgeous ❤. Too bad to be so short !
The horse you eventually choose will be a beauty, I have no doubt !! 🙏
Literally! 😂 she got a horse named Beauty, this comment aged well
I give you so much credit for going to these auctions, it would be so hard to choose. I guess that is why you are so good at what you do! ❤
