Hey Horse Lovers! Are you ready for another Auction Adventure?! Let’s see how this one goes. -Shae 🐴💸💙 How To Support FSE: thespiritedhorseboutique.com/
Omg hi Shae! I would just like to let you know you are such an inspiration for me and 269k others. I really admire your passion for horses and their health, safety and giving them a positive life. You have helped so many horses and I’m sure there are many more to come. Your impact on the equestrian world, should be more appreciated than it is! You are my idol and I aspire to be like you one day, helping horses, and you have really educated me on equine behaviour!
I feel so bad for that zebra. They really aren't anything like horses behaviorally and they aren't domesticated, so there is almost no chance that anyone attending a horse auction (especially a lower end one) would have the skills or knowledge to give this animal what they need. :(
Due to their attractive skin pattern and color, and their rarity in everyday life, they are viewed as trophies and prizes for hunters here in the United States. Lodges are profiting thousands of dollars in order to allow a hunter to kill and keep a memento of a zebra whose life is cut short. Some zebras (because of illness, disability) end up in auctions or kill pens.
Here Zebras are African Endangered species…you would go to jail having one at a Horse sale as a riding pony…loved that Percheron and it makes my heart heavy to see the sales horses that are really close to the slaughter pipeline already…some of them look quite sad…❤❤😢
@@michelleturner6865 i agree. Here in Germany we don't have auctions like that. The only auctions we have are the ones of the super expensive warmbloods like Hannoveraner, Oldenburger, Westfale, Rheinländer, Holsteiner....and some more.
My heart goes out to the well used not so great care Belgians that come off the Amish farms. So many have huge issues because they did not get the proper attention. Pony Tales Rescue & Refuge has a channel and they are rescuing a bunch of there Belgians and Percheron . The ladies that run that rescue have lots of experience and patience and compassion for the horses they rescue. Check out their channel if you want to see a crazy but determined farrier that literally puts his life on the line with the big drafts they are rescuing that know nada about being in the stocks, or having any sort of regular hoof care. He helps so many that have neglect hoofs that mostly would end up in the slaughter truck as the kill buyers love the big drafts as they get paid by the pound at these awful slaughter places. I try to donate to Pony Tales as much as possible, they never turn ANY horse away and they do all they possibly can with their two vets and their farrier to give these precious animals a chance at life. I did not think that they would be able to adopt out so many drafts, but they have proven me wrong.
If you consider many of the people use horses, and not cars, I think the auctions are quite in proportion. And to be honest they look very well ran and some fine breeds on offer for general purchase. Do the Amish in Germany continue their traditional lifestyle?
@@sirrobinofloxley7156 We don’t have any Amish here….🤷♀️there were some older Belgians and they have some years left to go but probably already arthritis and so on …they are on the brink of the pipeline, a horse that has worked his butt off his whole life deserves a retirement home, if they call themselves Gods people they should respect his creation
I want to tell you a cautionary tale about my experience buying an auction horse. I saw a gorgeous 6-year-old appy at an auction and looked him over really good., Nice, sound, young horse. The seller wanted a bit more than I was willing to pay but we decided if he didn't sell at auction that he and I would work something out for me to buy him. He didn't sell and the seller, who knew where I was living in the middle of a Mennonite community, showed up with the horse. He didn't sell, we agreed on a price and I was the proud owner of a gorgeous 6-year-old appy gelding name Comanche. BUT... What I didn't know was the state law. IN Missouri, where I lived at the time, a legal bill of sale has to describe the horse well enough that you can pick it out of a herd by reading the description. Now, Doug.. the man who sold me the horse knew this. He counted on me not knowing the law. 3 Months after I bought my horse, Doug came one day while I was at work and took him. That's when the sheriff informed me that my bill of sale wasn't legal and there was nothing he or I could do. And I wasn't the first-person Doug had done this too. I was out $1500, my horse, everything... And no recourse at all. Consider pinning this as a warning to other new buyers. Sometimes knowing about the seller can be as important as the horse. Or know the law!
Not only that, but Belle is a perfect example. Yes Shae got a beautiful baby out of her (Ezzy) but Belle unfortunately has Shivers, and will simply be a pasture pet for the rest of her life 😢 Shae spent A LOT of $$ on a pasture pet. Now thank God Shae took the chance on Belle and not someone else, because a lot of people would have just taken her to another auction, to try and recoup their money or worse.....continued to ride her until she completely foundered 😢. So I can totally understand why Shae is a little more picky now. Blessings to all ✝️ Grandma Jennifer in AZ.
@annaalien4706 There are many other channels that show horses. Find a different one that you actually enjoy watching. Dont watch someones content if its a burden to you, enjoy yourself nobody is forcing to watch Shae or horses.
@annaalien4706 WOW, that was extremely rude!! I agree 💯 percent with Glossy Bees. There are literally tons of channels with horse content, go watch a different one. I promise Shae won't mind loosing a "Karen" And I can also guarantee you that everyone else that watches FSE loves Shae and Kyle to death!! I'm older (pushing 70) and I simply don't understand why people like you make such negative comments. If you don't have anything nice to say, than shut it!! There's no reason to intentionally hurt someone's feelings. I hope you have a blessed day ✝️ Grandma Jennifer
Everyone that had to went through loosing their horse prematurely because there was no way to properly help them anymore knows how heart breaking it is to go through this. It's one thing to think, oh, i buy this horse and if I can't help them, it's ok. But in the end, it breaks your heart anyway. One only has so much energy to live through that again and again.
@@MsSonali1980 Nonesense. There is never too much love or energy to try again. I'd never avoid trying just because of the possibility of crashing ore loss. Granted my experience is dogs, They do not cost thousands for mutts.
I used to have a little livestock auction in Oregon that I would go to every couple of months and rescue.. My best rescue was a beautiful little bay stallion.. bigger that a shetland but not quite as refined as a welsh. He came in squealing and striking out so I was able to get him very cheap. Got him loaded and took him home... He struck at me one time but I happened to have a little pear switch and I smacked him on his leg and he never stuck out again. I messed with him a lot.. he was a beautiful blood bay..very classy and just out of curiosity I tried him under harness with the pony cart and he knew EVERYTHING!! He could side pass to turn the cart.. walk, trot, a bit of a canter around the pasture and I was even able to use him to go to my daughters school to pick her up. He was just a perfect little pony stallion. I was able to advertise him with lots of pluses and no negatives and found him a great home. Rescuing was so much fun and work. Keep up the good work =))
Its sad that E.L.A Sunday horse auction shut down here. they still run the Saturday livestock auctions here and sometimes they will have a horse or two put through then
@@cinnamonsvintagecellar9543 Yes and now knowing that so many of the horses I saw were going to slaughter I wish I had rescued more.. but I did what I could ♥
Hi,uhm don't smack the horse on the leg. Period just don't do it that foal probably didn't strick at you again beacuse it was scared you'd do something worse to it. Also how old was he when you tried him with a harness? (Also if you tell me I saw your channel blah blah blah I own a ranch with my family and ik a lot of things about horses)
@@Misty_ivy_232 That's good questions. I'm animal behaviorist and my blood also frozen a little bit. By hitting animal is not told that animal will obey you. It's usually only breaking the trust, building the fear and making only situation escalate. Thanks in this situation it's caused nothing worse
Youre correct. They can be tame but it is not a domestic species, they wont be as chill as domestic animals and will be more instinctive than calm and logical
I so appreciate how caring you and Kyle are and educate us on auctions. I personally hate auctions. My dad sold my horse at an auction and didn’t tell me until the day before so I never saw her before she left.
I can really commiserate. My Dad sold my mare by private sale and it just about killed me at my tender age of 14. The next time I heard about my girl, 6 months later she was dead from pneumonia. I went silent for 8 or 10 days and just stayed home in bed. I do not know how my parents finally found out about her dying, but they did. They tried to talk to me about why they sold her and I just stopped them. I said They as good as killed her and I NEVER WANTED TO MENTION HER AGAIN. On my Dads death bed we talked and he wept and said the stupidest thing he ever did was sell her and hurt me.
My father eliminated my cat and her kittens when I was 10 years old. My parents had old-fashioned ideas in which they didn't believe in paying for vet care: spaying. I hated him for many, many years. I am now a strong advocate in the anti-cruelty movement for animals (and people).
The fact that you are realistic about rescuing random horses at auctions is inspiring to me. I would rescue them and get overwhelmed, I know I would. Seeing you have deep compassion and love for them, but not bury yourself in projects makes it possible for me to stay strong as well. ❤
Great job explaining everything. It gives us a better understanding of everything you do. But don’t feel like you have to defend yourselves. You do noble work with your horses🐎 Keep up the good work. God commands us to take care of his animals.
IMO The auctions are a big part of this channel It shows knowledge. What to look for on every different level. I love it! The fact that you don't buy every horse you fall in love with shows extreme intelligence and patience which is key in horse responsible ownership. ❤🐴
I appreciate your level-headed approach and knowing what is right and appropriate for your program and your life. And sticking to that vision. Smart businesswoman!
Exactly how I feel too, it's like a classroom, but living and breathing subject matter. Free Spirits really know an immense amount about horses and the needs of the students, the horses, time management etc. It's really astonishing to join in and see everything so closely. I'm in England and we don't have anything like this amount of amazing horse culture, quite the opposite, as it's in rapid decline unfortunately.
Exactly! She gives so much good information about horses, and sales, and proper care or them. I thought I knew a good bit about horses but she has shown me how little I do know. I'm glad for the information although I will never own another horse. Too poor and too old.😊
I always feel bad for the horses that don't get to go home with you! Going home with you is like hitting the lottery for a horse. You and Kyle are the best, I love your kindness and commitment. Keep up the good work. 😍
That bay mare and the stout gelding were gorgeous. But in the end you really need to trust your intuition, which is what you're obviously doing - and this is why you have the most perfect horses!
Thanks for taking us along on this auction weekend. As a Fjord owner since 1988 I am surprised & saddened to see Fjord’s end up in auction. Competing in carriage driving we often competed against Haflingers, which are another rare pony breed. I find it hard to believe that either end up on the auction line. As Kyle mentioned, for many of these horses their lives are spent going auction to auction, sadly some will end up eventually on the slaughter pipeline to Mexico. People think it would be great to own a horse, but have no comprehension of all of the costs that go along with it. If you don’t have your own farm, boarding is an option, but that can be terribly expensive. Most boarding stables, at least in my area, require you to participate in their lesson program, that is over the cost of boarding. Boarding often is not a flat fee. Turnout, holding for vet, farrier, tack storage, that’s extra. Some have restrictions on when you’re allowed on the property, when you can move your horse from pasture to barn, some handle all feeding, don’t give your horse that extra hay. I boarded when I first started, fortunately I had great folks I trusted. Once we got our own farm I did have boarders and 2 yrs ago I asked the last boarder to leave. There were multiple issues and it just wasn’t worth the liability of having the horse here. It is a huge decision to purchase a horse, but that is just the start of a very long list of expenses that you will find along the trail. Again, thanks for sharing the auction experience with us!
One horse at a time to integrate with your geldings or mares you already have is a good plan. Those stout chunky horses appear solid but, like Mushu, you have to think about wrapping your legs around their round bodies which, like you say, makes them rider-specific and down the road narrows the buying field. Yes, a lot to consider given your mission and your circumstances. Thanks for taking us along and for the education on auction horses. ❤️
I still Remember Prince Charming :(, beautiful boy. It's good to be picky and know what your needs are! :> Thanks for bringing us along to these sales!
@@justseekingtruth3998 Belle is alive and well looked after, and there is a chance that she will be able to continue living a good life. Prince Charming is no longer with us.
I think for the most part, draft horse owners tend to let the hooves go long because there seem to be fewer farriers willing to work on drafts. And the Amish/Mennonite tend to let their drafts go really long, I think, so they can 'dig in' when pulling equipment. That, or they simply stop caring once the horse is scheduled for sale - it wouldn't surprise me.
I would not buy a zebra. They are not easy to domesticate. They are related to horses, although they are more bad tempered. It should be in a refuge, not an auction!
Shae and Kyle, thanks for your time and energy to bring us viewers along when you go to the auctions. I think that the people who just want you to buy, buy, buy don’t realize that you have an investment far beyond the price of the horses you buy. The time, devotion, the ups and downs of your mission are so much more than just the transaction costs. Best wishes to you and your ventures.
How interesting to have these kind of sales with possible surprises. However, auctions are always hard for me to watch. Hard on my heart. What you bring to me in these auctions, Shae and Kyle, is how to bypass the difficult and sad issues and seek the possible and probable horse that fits the dream, passion and future life, livelihood, and the hope of a great outcome for “that horse” that feels right for Free Spirit Equestrian Farm. Thank you for that hope!!! 👍🥰👍🥰
Shae, you use your instincts when you’re at these auctions. Anyone that questions that has not been watching you long enough and those of us that have, have a TON of respect for the tough “on the spot” decisions you have to make. Thank you for bringing us along on this 2nd auction adventure.
I really admire and respect you Shae, for your dedication to your mission to help horses to have a brighter future. Any person who purchases a horse from you truly gets a gem. I hope that they all find their forever homes with their new owners. I’m sorry that some people don’t understand what you’re doing. But you really shouldn’t have to keep addressing their negative thoughts about what you should do. I myself, on the other hand, have always had a dream to have a horse rescue, but not a a 501c3 or donation funded program. My desire has always been to take on every horse that is not wanted, to provide them with a retirement home to live out their lives without the fear of ever being mistreated, starved, unloved or unwanted again.Though I have tried, I was not able to fulfill that dream. I enjoy your videos so very much. They’re always the ones I look forward to the most!!❤
I'm not here to ask you, why u don't buy. I'm here to learn from you. You're a great teacher, sweet trainer & you are teaching as you look at each horse. I love all of the knowledge you impart as you examine each horse. Thank you for generously share your hard earned knowledge. I know you have not just paid money for this education but also labor & love. 💝🤠
I totally admire and respect your horse auction standards for bidding and purchasing. It's also so interesting to follow along with you to these auctions and to find out what you watch for and see with each horse in both their appearance and demeanor. It's obvious that you and Kyle make an excellent team in every way and you are so sweet together too. Yesterday's near purchase was definitely a heart thumper with the decision you had to make together. Thank you for another fun and exciting time at the auctions!
So interesting to attend these auctions but on the other hand, I had no idea how many animals, horses are out there in the world without someone to love and care for them forever. Being a dog owner only, it just never entered my mind about the horse world set up. Anyhow, watching you and Kyle turns out to be a great educational experience for me at 83! California calling ps that Zebra broke my heart!
I love the auction videos….and I am happy that you are are picky about what you are spending your hard earned money …. The care and one on one attention you give your horses …any horse would be blessed to live at your barn and be treated so kindly by the love you bestow on your horses! The right one will come along that will be perfect for your students to ride….. I just know it! So please continue to take us along when you go to any auction ….
You will know when it's the right horse at the right price. Thank you and Kyle for taking us along for the ride. Looking forward to next horse show with your students. 🏆
I understand completely why you don't just buy, buy, buy at every sale and auction you go to Shae. Even one horse is a huge undertaking and you really have to be set up to give them all the health care, space, nutrition, training and love the need and deserve. They are NOT like owning a dog or cat!
Another enjoyable experience, however, a couple of horses looked so forlorn ,that I ended up on a sad note... It is so heart wrenching to see horses that haven't had the proper maintenance for their feet; it is such a big part of their ability to meet expectations as well as avoid injuries and or pain. Then there was one horse that looked so dirty; it was obvious that his owner had no use for him any more and begrudged him any time or care. Fortunately , I am not at the auction in person or it would definitely turn me into a horse advocate if not an all out activist. I admire how balanced your approach is, Shea, it is for the best. You are also fortunate to have Kyle to bounce thoughts off of. Kyle in an additional guard rail in your decision making. As always, I'm sending well wishes your way.
Loved Kyle and you holding hands. It made me smile and warmed my heart. There were some nice ones but you will know when it’s right. That one horse is out there. You will find it! Thanks for the education and the ride along. God bless you and Kyle, Shae. 😊💗
I finished drawing Jiminey and emailed the results to you! Hope that brightens your day. Too bad you didn't find that diamond in the rough. There's always next time!
I love watching your auction videos whether you buy a horse or not. You explain your thoughts so well and that makes it very educational. Thanks for sharing.
This sale pulled a bit more at my heart strings. Especially the big Percheron that was so kind. At every sale - but especially at the lower end sales - the fate of the horses are unsure. I am just thinking about the big guy and really hope he found a good home! You will find a great fitting horse for you, Kyle and your program 🙏🏼 With all of your experience it would be amazing if you could take on regularly some rescue horses in the future. 😊
@@desertsky4211 Only if they are able to accommodate for the needs of a rescue like Shae shared at the end. It’s a big responsibility and you need a setup like for example a quarantine area (and more).
@@orcaalley2170 Some of them might go to slaughter, yes. The Percheron pulled at my heart strings - I can only imagine how it must have been for Shae and Kyle being there and experiencing it all! It’s just that nobody can save every horse/equine. And like Shae often explains - you have to know your limits. Even if it might be really challenging in the situation…
Your auction videos are truly a crash course on horse anatomy!! You are sharing a wealth of wisdom with anyone who is interested in learning!! Though we may never be Blessed with our own actual horse, we can dream and pray! Thank you both for taking us along!! Blessings!!
If it's not right, it's not right and that's it. No arguments! It's fun for us watching, because we can dream. Reminds me of when we used to go looking, hoping Mum would bid on one for us. We had fun anyway, saying hello to them all. And if we weren't too much trouble, she'd treat us to Ice-creams.
I loved the last bay mare, but she was forward for a lesson horse. The big dapple gray was pretty, but I didn't like his long back/weak loin look. I can also see that his front leg movement was short. Nothing wrong with being picky - you need what you need for your business!
the awareness of variables are very good points. Your commitment to the horses is clear and totally reasonable. I have rescued horses and I gave each one at least a year to rehabilitate. my commitment is always forever.
Yes! Some breeds are commanding high sale prices due to their popularity and novelty, For example, I would place Gypsy Vanners in this category. Time will tell if they maintain their current popularity and market value. The prices buyers are paying for auction horses are shocking to me; a private sale with a vetted horse is one thing, but an auction horse that sells for 5 figures!
He's beautiful. I'm sure the foot thing is something that once he is settled, he will be fine. You are so good with making the horses feel loved and at ease.
I’d love to see a video on specifically what you’re looking at conformationally and movement- wise when you’re shopping. It would be such a fabulous resource to help first time horse shoppers.
I know why you weren't interested in taking home the huge Percheron. I saw you both connected really well to him. I hope the person who bought him isn't just flipping him because honestly, he seems like one of those "auction veterans" and needs a place where he can be loved and doted on, but also have a purpose and not be mistreated. Thanks for sharing your travels!
Very interesting, thank you. Your judgment about buying is sound - you think with your head and feel with your heart, and that's the necessary combination to do right by a horse.
Thank you again Shae for taking us to another auction. I believe in your judgement when it comes to buying a horse. You know what you are going to use them for and if they will fit in your needs. So what, if you didn't buy this time, it's not meant to be because the one you are suppose to have is going to happen.
I loved hearing all you said at the end. Your realities and dreams and your heart. I've been bern admiring you for your loving heart but being tempered by your experience. I was struck by your statement " I am doing MY part". I have had to learn that as being a caregiver for the elderly for over 20 years. Knowing I am chosen by Jesus to do MY part for those he sends me to. I cant help everyone but am selected to go to those that I am equipped to serve with all that I am.
Thank you for being a caregiver to the elderly. There are so few who are good at that job. We are all going to be aged unless we die in a accident or something. It is hard to care for the elderly and it takes a specific kind of person to gain their trust and enjoy seeing them come to care for them.
Many can end up in the slaughter pipeline also. It's sad to see so many horses at these auctions. People don't treat them like the sentient beings they are.
I really liked the Friesian cross,of course,I'm partial to Friesians. Sorry, you didn't find a horse. But you know what you need for your program. I enjoy watching your videos. I trust your judgement. As you said,it's your dime. Thanks for sharing Shea.

Shae, I'm glad your picky on what you buy !!! That means your sincere, & your not going to put anyone on a flighty horse. People just don't understand what all is involved in buying a horse. You can't just buy anything & put your students on, or kyle. Your husband is lucky to have you. :) thank you for taking us along.

OMG that poor zebra that animal should be roaming free in the wild😢. I hope who ever buys that zebra lets it go out in a nice grassy field to roam free❤
That auction house that Horse Plus has traditionally gone to monthly is some level of hell. I’m glad HP found the way to circumvent the auction house. Still horrified at the conditions of the arrivals stumbling off those large trailers. HP made a “leak” in the slaughter pipeline. Animal welfare laws need to change and I’m glad they are working on that too.
Love how thoughtful and committed you are to the horses you bring home. Can’t wait for you to have a larger property to help even more horses. Until then you are doing such wonderful work to change a horse’s life. Thank you 🙏
Shae, I enjoy every single video you post, and then I spend sometimes hours reviewing my very favorites. Your wisdom quiets my enthusiastic love for horses and teaches me so much about our four-footed loves. God bless you, and thank you, to you and Kyle for sharing your lives with us.i declare you both a treasure!❤❤️
You do so much for the horses you have so totally understand you being cautious. You can be duped by anyone not just at an auction. A lady at our yard on the Isle of Man brought a cob from a private sale in the UK but didn’t take the time to go and ride it or have it vet checked. She was told it had slight lameness in one front leg, it was 10 and 15.2h and was ok to hack out. She brought it! The horse was lame on all 4 legs, was almost double the age and was 14h. Also it couldn’t be ridden out alone as it would buck the rider off. I guess the moral of the story is don’t go with your heart go with your head and always see the horse in person.
Yes … I did enjoy the action … and I totally get what you’re saying. You’re a responsible horsewoman and like you said, you e gotten other horses in the past and it has t worked out as well. Prince Charming comes to mind … I’m not sure if you got him at an auction or not but that was money that you never got a return on. Please don’t let people make you feel bad or assume we all think like that … I respect your decisions and know whatever you do take on, you’ll ensure they have a good life with you for as long as they’re alive. Hope you either find more land or that you locate a bigger farm! You’ll be in my prayers. TTFN! 🙏🙌✝️❤️🇨🇦
I really have so much respect for you Shae. You really know what you’re doing and your care for horses is something I wish all horse owners had more of. (I know I have learned a lot from you that I wish I knew when I was younger and had more dealings with horses.
Thank you for explaining why you are careful & thoughtful before buying at auction. Folks do not always understand the realities. Might be interesting to share with your viewers the other ways most people buy horses maybe? I’m honestly happy you did not buy anything. You have a lot on your plate and those prices for an auction horse with no vet exam…. Though I’m still rooting for you to get a plain bay lol 😊 Kidding mostly. I understand most people want flashy!
Hi Shae, Subscriber here. Love following you. I think items offered in your boutique line up are wonderful. I have a request and you are “the one” I believe who could do justice to the practical and artistic design of timeless , vintage style western wear. Tailored, mostly cotton, shirts, blouses, skirts, riding skirts. Not overly fancy and tacky like the ones you can find, but tasteful. Have you ever looked online in search of a flannel western shirt with pearl snap buttons, or a well designed blouse? Not easy to find. I’ve seen enough of your videos ( probably all of them :-) to know that you are a fashionable down to earth lady with a great sense of style and if anyone could pull off a line of beautiful western wear, it would be you.
I think it is so wonderful that a man still holds the hand of his wife, your husband is wonderful.
Yes, I agree. So great. I wish I had that honestly!…….😢
@@alanerobinson5070 My husband stills holds my hand after 47 years. I'm blessed.
Mine is like that, we are seniors and we still hold hands often.
Yeh my heart melted seeing that, you can really see she loves him so much and the other way around
For people who say "Why don't you just buy something" keep in mind its their money. Their time. Not yours.
Right…. It’s a huge commitment too it’s not like buying an expensive vase that sits in the shelf. It’s a big animal who needs TLC.
@annaalien4706
WOW, that was extremely rude!!
@annaalien4706 if you hate her then dont bother watching her even if its to see the horses-
What the hell, seeing that poor zebra at a sale,I hope someone rescue’s it
I felt so bad for it.😢
Prince Charming broke my heart. Understand being picky.
May he rest in peace. He was so loved and surely he felt that during his time at FSE.
❤Gone but Never Forgotten❤
I always think about Prince Charming when she talks about not knowing what you're getting and it breaks my heart
@@MsSonali1980
Nonesense. There is never too much love or energy to try again. I'd never avoid trying just because of the possibility of crashing ore loss. Granted my experience is dogs, They do not cost thousands for mutts.
My heart broke for the poor zebra. 😢

@@Misty_ivy_232
That's good questions. I'm animal behaviorist and my blood also frozen a little bit.
By hitting animal is not told that animal will obey you. It's usually only breaking the trust, building the fear and making only situation escalate.
Thanks in this situation it's caused nothing worse
My heart is broken for the zebra. I live in South African. This is shocking to see this at a horse auction. It does not belong in this auction.😢
For everyone saying you need to just buy a horse, they need to go watch Prince Charmings story. Horses are not cheap and they are a HUGE commitment.
I really hate horse auctions.. all I can think about is the poor souls no one takes home :( I’d never be able to leave them there.
It makes me sad. Poor horses.
All I can think of is we used to do that to human beings it all makes me sad.
not the zebra. Honestly feel bad for it
Zebra's aren't domestic at all (from what I know)
ur right
Youre correct. They can be tame but it is not a domestic species, they wont be as chill as domestic animals and will be more instinctive than calm and logical
They're also much more dangerous than horses, untrained people shouldn't even handle them.
I so appreciate how caring you and Kyle are and educate us on auctions. I personally hate auctions. My dad sold my horse at an auction and didn’t tell me until the day before so I never saw her before she left.
My gosh I’m sorry :(
It breaks your heart. My dad did the same thing. I came home from school and Bob was gone😭
My mom sold my pony Duval to travelers. She was cruel.
Poor Zebra!❤ hope it gets a better life or a rescue❤❤
IMO The auctions are a big part of this channel It shows knowledge.
What to look for on every different level. I love it!
The fact that you don't buy every horse you fall in love with shows extreme intelligence and patience which is key in horse responsible ownership.
❤🐴
I appreciate your level-headed approach and knowing what is right and appropriate for your program and your life. And sticking to that vision. Smart businesswoman!
I love these auction videos because it's like a crash course in how to look at horses and the vocabulary for what we're looking at. So fascinating!
It’s interesting and heartbreaking at the same time. The right horse is out there waiting for you. Stay your path.
Let's not forget Belle, too. 😫. Yes she gave her Ezzy but she's got a problem and her time will be limited. Makes me really really sad.
The amish just dont seem to give a sh*t
I would not buy a zebra. They are not easy to domesticate. They are related to horses, although they are more bad tempered. It should be in a refuge, not an auction!
Y’all sooo cute. Holding hands. I love how Kyle goes to auctions with you. 😊
The second I finished the most recent auction video this one releases. Sorry about the last experience, best of luck!❤
Oh that's sweet of him to give you the flower halter very cool
👋🏻🧑🦳😊💐🇺🇸 It’s so nice to see you and Kyle work together as a team ❤️❤️❤️
Please talk more to what makes a sound horse and what it looks like.
I understand completely why you don't just buy, buy, buy at every sale and auction you go to Shae. Even one horse is a huge undertaking and you really have to be set up to give them all the health care, space, nutrition, training and love the need and deserve. They are NOT like owning a dog or cat!
Yes exactly!
That black and white paint is gorgeous.
Your heavy in Amish country. They are hit and miss. It’s fun seeing all the horses. Thanks😊
I agree. Instead of looking for a perfect horse, a nice rescue that could use their help would be great.
Fate is not unsure they’ll be sold for slaughter. 💔

God bless all the Horses there all Sweet Gentle Giants 🙏🙏🙏😇🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for taking us along on your trips to these auctions -- there's always something to learn!
I loved the last bay mare, but she was forward for a lesson horse. The big dapple gray was pretty, but I didn't like his long back/weak loin look. I can also see that his front leg movement was short. Nothing wrong with being picky - you need what you need for your business!
Love your auction videos. They are very informative, appreciate you taking the time to explain. Thank you!
the awareness of variables are very good points. Your commitment to the horses is clear and totally reasonable. I have rescued horses and I gave each one at least a year to rehabilitate. my commitment is always forever.
I really do love auction videos. He gives an opportunity to see what kind of horses there are out there.❤
I go over all of it in my auction videos, I have a playlist.!
I enjoyed seeing the auction. Thanks for letting us go with you guys
We learn so much.
Very interesting, thank you. Your judgment about buying is sound - you think with your head and feel with your heart, and that's the necessary combination to do right by a horse.
I appreciate when Kyle shares his thoughts as well.
Thank you for educating everyone once again.
Such kind words. Thank you
Many can end up in the slaughter pipeline also.
Im absorbing every observation you make as I do plan on buying my first horse.

Having only seen the auctions Horse Plus was saving horses from it’s SO NICE to see that there IS better places 😁🤩
Love horse plus!
Thank you 🙏

Every time i see a video of yours just makes my day❤
You do so much for the horses you have so totally understand you being cautious.
TTFN! 🙏🙌✝️❤️🇨🇦
Oops … auction (not action 🤣😂🤣) …
I can tell you are more committed than most people! So you are very careful...which is really a good thing! It takes a lot of $$$ to do what you do! ❤
I really have so much respect for you Shae. You really know what you’re doing and your care for horses is something I wish all horse owners had more of. (I know I have learned a lot from you that I wish I knew when I was younger and had more dealings with horses.
Glad you stay true to your mission and commitment to each horse ❤
Thank you for explaining why you are careful & thoughtful before buying at auction. Folks do not always understand the realities. Might be interesting to share with your viewers the other ways most people buy horses maybe?
I’m honestly happy you did not buy anything. You have a lot on your plate and those prices for an auction horse with no vet exam…. Though I’m still rooting for you to get a plain bay lol 😊 Kidding mostly. I understand most people want flashy!
Thank you enjoyed seeing the horses, you will find the right one when the time is right ❤. Thank you again.
Hi Shae,

Sincerely,
Barbara
