This song always reminds me of the time my mother miscarried. My mom used to sing this song a lot during that time while pregnant. She was so excited to be having another baby and she would sing this to her baby. I had the most angelic mother. It wasn't until I was an adult and miscarried myself that I felt my mom's love for her unborn baby. I found myself in tears at the grocery store one day when, over the crowd's chatter, I heard this song on the PA system. I was having a normal day until this song came on. Suddenly, I felt alone, there was no noise but the song, it took me back to my childhood and I wept for my dear mom. John Denver could move a person to tears. He was so connected.

This was a very, very lovely tribute to a beautiful song (and songwriter), Vienna. I am sure, by now, you have gained an appreciation for the inspirational and powerful arrangements of Lee Holdridge. I, for one, do not believe you "missed out" on any music of the '80's. Your parents' influences on you may very well be responsible for your emotionally engaging melodies (something quite missing in your contemporary's music). To me, you are a light shining in the darkness! Sing on!
