- It is healthy for a green iguana to release their built up energy during breeding season, green iguanas have strong instincts, the action of attacking what he thinks is a rival male during breeding season is actual enrichment for them. Since it's a stuffed animal he is not going to loose, with saying that he then released that energy, feels good about himself and is more confident feeling like the alpha male of her territory. It also grabs the females attentions, females look for the strongest and biggest males to mate with, so this allows the males to also show off to the females(if there are any)

That is so fascinating how he goes for the tail, it suggests that the iguana understands to attempt to disarm the competing iguana to neutralize the threat moreso than being lethal and going for the throat/head. Very intelligent creatures, I'll always love iguanas!
I think the males fight to the death over territory and females, if I'm not mistaken. And they can cause a lot of damage to their owners if they decide to attack. I've seen a lot of pictures of stitches after the attack.
@@rustyreese4006 Nah, there's plenty of videos of iguanas fighting on this site, they go until one decides to give up, and if that ends up leading to death so be it, but if that was the sole intention they wouldn't let the loser live.
@@Knifegash yes but when one refuses to back down they don't stop until one of them are dead. The whole point being that the males are very territorial and won't tolerate intruders. They can be sweet and funny but also vicious.

I live in los angeles today is the second time i see a neon green color iguana in my alley . Bright green and i think its two cause the other i saw today has a darker color body . Are they bad???? Or do they bite ?? Not as big as these they are about half this size

Eric Delshun Music Page I own a young male iguana (he's about a year old and still really small). He's really friendly with my friend's younger cousins, and he had become best friends with a large, wild, carnivorous AND male lizard I caught in my backyard (a knight anole). But still, he is technically just a baby. After watching these videos I went in my old toys and found a plastic iguana that looked just like him, and tried to get my iguana to attack it. Instead, he ended up sleeping on it. The toy was also because my female iguana died last week (my whole fam is still depressed about her, especially my male iguana) so I guess the toy was keeping him company.
This video is what inspired Freddie Mercury's outfit.
