Bless you Bernie, you've a national treasure 👍👏✊
Hello Tania, can we please be friends?
Ol' Bernie is still as sharp as ever, still has a keen intellect and a deep understanding of issues. Definitely the outlier in America's dumbass greed centric political system.
He's also an outlier among other geriatric white folk in power lol
There are many solid Democrats. That is why we get things done.

Thank you for your service Honorable Bernie Sanders.
To Sir Bernie - much love from Australia mate, you're a bloody hero.
A man of integrity, common sense and a sharp intellect .More Bernie sanders would have made the USA greater , fairer , more loved
Bernie is one of the few politicians who makes sense. He has a moral compass and a backbone, so the establishment does their best to squash him. I am not for elderly candidates in general, but I have enjoyed voting for Bernie. It made me feel good!

Bernie is a delightful voice of reason without fail.
Bernie!!!❤. How come he seems to be the only politician who really seems to care about the real issues in the U.S.?
He doesn’t care
He most certainly is not, there are many great Democrats in Politics.
Because he’s not bought by the billionaires and mega-industries he’s trying to protect people from. Most other politicians are bought - and they protect those powers at the expense of people.
Thanks for an excellent interview. Good question but too short. Senator Sanders is right about capitalism but congress and the 9 judges are deeply anchored to money.
But also capitalism in it's pure form has actually never worked and when it's been tried it's been a complete and utter failure. Every capitalist success story is due to massive amounts of government involvement, regulations and investment. The idea you can "unleash" capitalists and they will create prosperity for you is a myth. If you want a well functioning economy you need to do the hard work of creating intelligent and effective regulations, subsidies, tariffs, decide what things to nationalize and what to privatize and where to spend money and in what way.
Bernie is older than both of them but for real listen to how switched on this guy is. He just smashes it. Bernie Sanders for president.
Thank you for being you, Bernie!
Sanders would make an incredibly focused and effective POTUS.
I VOTED😢
Great interview! Grateful to Sanders that he is still standing up for social issues. Bravo 👏🏾
Good show. Love Bernie. Thank you for spending so much time with Senator Sanders and letting him speak out.
Thank you for caring about us Bernie.
Bernie is older than Biden and Trump, but is way sharper than those two put together, and than most politicians half his age.
He is very very sharp
I voted for him 😊 current people in charge isn't my fault 😞
Not only sharper. He's more honest & authentically cares about We, the Ppl.
If you like Bernie, why not listen to what he says about Biden, and Trump? Do you think Bernie is lying? Why not listen to what Biden actually says? The corporate media doesn't want you to, but you can find it if you look.
Yeah, it's very clear indeed. Best President America has never had.
The U.S. needs a LOT more Republicans and Democrats with the same amount of integrity, class, and decency as Bernie.
No we don’t
There are plenty of Democrats that are. Not going to happen anytime soon with Republicans
you are aware that he is neither, he's an Independent.
Integrity in DC, yeah, right.😮 Don't think that will ever happen again.

Always well put by Bernie. The more he gets his message out, the better the country will evolve to be.
What a wonderful human being
Thank you Senator Sanders. Thank you Stephen.
Don’t retire Bernie ,we need you!
That's the thing. It's not about stopping rich people from being rich. It's about stopping their INSANE wealth from preventing good policy changes because it would marginally reduce corporate profits.
tax them
…and at the pre-Reagan rate!!!
But also you should stop rich people from becoming rich to an extent.
I don't see the whole thing about treating capitalism as sacred to be a healthy thing. Capitalism is a good system of resource distribution but it's not a perfect system, it has flaws that we should account for and put in place systems to accommodate them.
It really feels like for many on the right capitalism is a religion and that questioning it or pointing out areas where it doesn't work is like a personal attack on their faith.
They don't want an educated middle class who will vote them out. They benefit from desperate working class people who cling to a demagogue like Trump.

So glad to see so many positive comments. Will never stop wishing I’d seen a Sanders presidency. I really feel the establishment (both political and in media) was threatened, and took him down

Capitalism doesn't work when giants gobble up competitors instead of competing.
Exactly! BLUE ALL THE WAY!
And it isn't even just competitors. Sometimes it's holding companies, like with _Embracer Group_ (though part of the blame for that should go to _Savvy Games Group,_ too). Over 1400 jobs lost because of greed and poor judgement.
Says who prove it
Oligarchy
Bernie spoke of mom and pop shops but missed an opportunity to call out, say walmart, for example, for coming into smaller cities wnd towns and putting the mom and pop shops oit of business with their massive buying power to undercut the mom wnd pop shops. That's exactly the type of capitalism Bernie is talking about.
Cooperation is more important than competition
Even if it's not immoral, excessive inequality destroys societies.
That makes it pretty immoral to me.
:) Hmm... And that doesn't make it immoral... how exactly???
@@dayegilharno4988I doubt that’s what the OP is saying. To put it another way, even if you remove the moral component, inequality makes bad sense for the economy and, therefor, also for society.
See if you can twist that and make it sound immoral.
Prove it then oh wait you can’t
Well, for sure. Look at our society
I love Bernie, wish he had bumped Hillary off the ballot in 2016!
I did my part.😊
As long as you saw the danger afterwards and advocated in the general, no worries. "But her emails....." (not that you said this but since I am here I just want to get it off my chest), is a trash way to not take some responsibility for all of us being here if you thought Hillary did not deserve your vote or require it. The group of people who thought Bernie or Jill needed that write in in multiple states versus staving off the 1950's in the general, got the express train to the Bad Place. The only benefit to being here for the next now 30 plus years due to ideology of the people in power not giving it up in that time, is that now people throughout society are who they are, no filters, and feel that being the unmodulated person is acceptable. There is no being canceled or anything like that (because in my opinion, the idea of taking some rich person's money away does not solve any problem including the one of the above minimum wage manager fucking with the rest of his employees inappropriately but still does not get called out due to not being known or seen as much by others), but there is a public and very loud record so that one day when the reckoning comes, we will all know what is good. Rant over. My apologies.
You may have forgot, but the DNC cheated during those nominations. The head of the DNC had to resign because of it.
It's part of the reason why Trump got elected, many voters were so angry about it, they refused to vote, or voted for Trump out of spite.
People forget way too fast.
The DNC and MSM made sure that that could never happen~ with both Hillary and Biden.
Hillary was never the problem: right wing extremism WERE and still ARE.
Love this man!
Yay!!! its uncle Bernie!!! A wise, wise man!❤❤❤❤
Some income inequality is fine, and even an incentive to drive innovation. But he is right when everything ends up owned by a handful and we essentially end up in an oligarchy.
Bernie one of the very rare few humane decent human beings in politics.
Agreed, approved.
He & Ron Paul could make a great team

They have been repeating the shafting with Nina Turner, and now Katie Porter...
Bernie Sanders is an excellent example of why and how age can simply be a number. A lot of younger representatives in both congressional houses don't have half the brainpower that he has. They also don't have half the ability to view the successes and challenges of our government as clearly as Senator Sanders can.
A year older than Biden; 4 years older than tRump. This man is still far more sound -- cognitively *and* physically -- than either. Why can't we have Bernie in November?! 😢
In 40 years ( trickle down Reagan) we went from 3 billionaires to 730+ billionaires who are now worth $4.5 TRILLION combined. SCREW universal healthcare, raising Fed. min. wage, homelessness, Social Security, Veterans benefits, USA infrastructure, education, etc…
And since Reagan, each Republican choice has been worse.
but don’t you DARE ask them to
pay taxes!!! unlike everyone else, they need that money //s
@@SatansDonkey666 Really, equal taxation! Explain why we have Corporations & Billionaires paying nothing? Let them all use the standard return that 80% of us all now use. Get rid of the 1,000’s of tax cuts only the wealthy use!
730... There are 400 million citizens of the USA.
@@scottc9383 That’s the point, let them all keep a billion how much would $3.77 trillion left, help the 341 million (actual) of us!
I am not American...but like Bernie so much.
So much bull
He is 100% right about these massive corporations. paying little to no tax and people blaming Biden for the high gas prices when you consider that the oil companies are making the biggest profits in their entire history and supermarkets are also making massive profits due to price gouging. And finally, i wish Bernie was 30 years younger as he is needed more than ever, and he is as sharp as a tack and a man of epic intellect.
Let's be fair, half of America is in the low end of the bell curve and nearly all of them wear red hats.
If only we could just pause him to keep him from aging and keep him around forever! I’d love that
I think it's also important to remind people that pure capitalism has never worked, also not in the US. The US' industrial revolution had enormous government involvement, government set up a large number of companies, gave subsidies, invested into infastructure, took in massive migrants and moved them to industrial cities, even fought wars with Mexico for land and resources.
The idea of the lone hard working pioneer is a myth. The US was a powerful country that expanded and invested and massively benefited from it. The westward expansion was driven by the federal government, tight local communities and the early megacorps. It was a very complex system with a lot of power players and a lot of politics involved.
The problem is the government allows these corporations to get away without paying taxes
Bernie is correct on every point he makes. We need him now more than ever. I only wish he was running for POTUS. He is sharp as a tack and is still on fire to help the American people even though many Americans are too stupid to recognise that he is the best we have.
How I wish he could be the next president…
He's slower than he used to be and he knows it. The closest we will probably come is AOC running in 20 years.

I wish more politicians would be like Bernie. The infinite growth mith must end....
it sure doesn’t apply to our paychecks(infinite growth, that is).
suprised and disappointed in the audience not being showing more enthusiasm for what he was saying..
The only thing Bernie said that makes me sad is "America is the greatest country on earth." I think this trope pprevents the USA from improving. I also wonder why the USA has to feel they are "the greatest"?
Propaganda, so we keep supporting whichever "team" we choose (which is just the smae few) and so we don't work together to hold the power to account via regulation, taxes, and oversight.
God, I wish we had a leader, a Congress, and a Supreme Court that embraced this man’s views.
Monopolies need to be busted up.
😍 Sen. Bernie Sanders!! He tirelessly fights and advocates for the working class!!! He is not saying that people should not have millions but corporate greed does get in the way of the working & lower middle class of getting ahead or providing a decent life for themselves and their families! Nobody in Congress cares about that more than Sanders and there will never be another one like him again.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL to hear from Sen. Sanders on the political environment of America today. His encouraging words, and his frustrations about the health and state of our economy are hopeful if Americans do their part to help stabilize America. Unfortunately there are Americans who seem to take their rights and freedoms for granted, and are willing to help tfp destroy America.
You're my hero Bernie. You are an exemplary example for the rest of our supposed leaders and representatives. 💓
Some people think that capitalism has no flaws because it has worked better (so far) than other systems. It's pretty simple: Step 1) open the wikipedia page for capitalism and see the section on downsides/criticisms, Step 2) government should be working to avoid those downsides....Step 3) get money out of politics, but good luck on that ;)
Remembering back the time where usa middle classes thrived... roseevelt... marshall plan etc😊

We love you Bernie. ❤ I have a photo of us on the street in Portland, Maine, July 2015, your first rally for the presidency. Jane took my camera and snapped our photo. We 💙💙💙 you. 🙏🏽
Bernie is the best! No wonder he they won't let him retire. XD The way he addresses all issues and explains them is so soothing. Even a foreigner like me can understand it clearly. ❤💕
If poor Bernie hadn't got robbed in the '16 primaries, he'd be just finishing up his second term right now. Think about that.
That makes me so angry - he really got screwed in 2016. The DNC backed the wrong horse and we all got boned.
Just think how different we could be right now if they had kept Bernie on that ballot. It would be an entirely different country from where we are. 😢
Your the man, Bernie.
There should be a lot more politicians like Bernie Sanders, both in the US and where I live in Norway. He gives me hope that there i still possible to do something good with politics and I really wish more politicians would be like him.
The greatest strength of Capitalism is competition driven innovation; when a single company gets too big, it's no longer motivated to compete, and innovation stalls.
Though even that is oversimplified. Innovation has usually come from the public sector, things like jet engines, the internet, microchips, medicine have all been made by public institutions and with public money.
The US also isn't as capitalistic as it often likes to claim it is. The tech sector gets massive subsidies and benefits from huge publicly funded research. This is the reason the US was able to overtake Europe who did still to a pure capitalist mentality. But why would a tech company invest in Europe if they could get subsidies in the US and have the government do a lot of their investing for them? This is also why while Europe's tech lacked behind the Chinese rapidly caught up as they also invested massively into it.
In terms of government spending relative to GDP the US is actually about the same as Sweden. Mostly carried by the massive tech subsidies and the military industrial complex.
The idea that a government can just sit back and private capitalists will do all the economic building for them has always been a myth. Every "capitalist" success from Germany, to South-Korea, to Britain to the US is a complex tale of subsidies, foreign capital, state institutions, state created enterprises, careful regulations, tariffs, forceful movement of people and more. The idea that you can just give the capitalists a bunch of money and they will make a prosperous economy has never been so.
The Latin American countries have economies that are WAY more liberal than the US and their government spending relative to GDP is way lower but that hurts them. Their extreme liberalism means competition is stiffled and foreign companies rule and their lack of government spending means they have no domestic economy to pull on if things go badly. The problems with this were demonstrated very well by Venezuela which completely collapsed once it was boycotted by it's largest trading partner and the foreign investors left.
The thing is capitalists don’t want competition and constantly work to destroy it. The end game is always monopolistic.
What you state is true, that's why big companies are kept at the top thanks to the State. The State is the one preventing competition, because it benefits from that situation.
@@marshallsweatherhiking1820 That's because they're not capitalist, they're just mercantilist

Framing economic inequality as a moral crisis -- which is spot on, imo -- is absolutely key. I live and work Singapore. A tone of wealth inequality here too. The difference: a progressive tax code. We can have both: a CAPITALIST and FAIR society.

Considering that I am only three years away from retirement, it becomes challenging for me to solely concentrate on the long-term perspective. One of the problems with Capitalism is the number of rich people who aspire to be feudal lords.
Oh Bernie Sanders, the perfectly wrapped gift that America still doesn't want to open.
The whole point of capitalism is having competition. Competition drives innovation and incentivizes lowering product prices. If everything is run my monopolies that can dictate prices and burry any small emerging competitors there’s no competition. So it’s not actually capitalism.
As a former conservative I agree on the concentration of ownership in the hands of the few that is bad all the way through as it kills of small, medium Business as well as ideas being bought up and paid for to not be developed that could do good for humanity...again and again perhaps we should do it the other way tax big companies and AI work as we do small and medium income and let those in those occupations and the Small medium enterprises and non- profits pay the roughly 5-6 percent take the big companies pay today .would flourish the economy and innovation.
You're almost there - you're seeing through the official reasoning for capitalism, but what you haven't realized yet is that the consolidated private monopolies are capitalism working as intended. It has plenty of benefits for the people in power. It was never meant to benefit you or I.
To misquote Gandhi:
"What do you think about American capitalism?"
"I think it would be a good idea."
Taking this further, any capitalist should support a wealth tax, since wealth is an unproductive resource.
Free market capitalism ruled by unmitigated greed eventually leads to what we have: a few controlling the many, socially & economically. We've tried Reagan's "trickle-down economics" for more than forty years, which has lead to rampant inequality, generational poverty & an exploding wealth gap between the top one percent & the rest of us. It will never happen, but imagine if we implemented a "trickle-up" policy, where the more you made the more you paid. The concept is moot, because the super-rich have too much control over a growing majority of both sides of the political & media aisles to ever allow it & thanks to growing capabilities in demographic targeting media manipulation & A-I, that level of control will only grow, making these kind of debates aspirational & academic at best.
