Fantastic break-down here. Makes complete sense and it's really inspirational for freelance writers to see this lucrative niche. Thank you Meredith!
Thank you, Peyton!
I keep thinking of that slam poem “what do I make? I make students inspired”
Love it! We should def make our own riff on that poem!
Thanks so much!! Your video helped a lot, I have a question, is it best to concentrate on one area of interest that you may have? Like for example, focus on grants that built on mental health? Then can I go another area like education? Then another area like cultural education? Or is better just to stick to one topic area?
Such a great question Sheryl! We advise pursuing all interest areas when you are getting started. Once you hit $50K in revenue or are applying for specific grant writing jobs, you THEN focus on narrowing your niche. (The step by step method to making $1.5K, $15K, etc. is all in our online grant writing membership - the Grant Writing Unicorn Collective).
Honestly - the BEST part about grant writing is becoming dangerously knowledgeable about a lot of different topics. You become the most interesting person at any dinner party! So...if you want to write grants for mental health, education and cultural education - you absolutely can and should.
Here's the video that describes the method to our madness :) www.learngrantwriting.org/webinar-videos/discover-grant-writing
