      Thanks Scott, I enjoyed watching your cultivator in action. You had a perfect stand of corn there, I think those old planters with the gauge/packer wheel on the back actually do a better job than the newer ones because the units don't bounce as much. My best yield to date was planted with my Allis 600 plate planter.

      Thanks Cory, I don't like to work the ground to much if I don't have to but I figured this would work on ground I rut up hauling manure and such. Hows thinks down your way, nothing like paying to milk cows like we are. Lol

      @@mrbill4187 we stayed wet and cool for all of April, now we are warm and wet haying is way behind should have all the wheat wrapped and be ready for second cut alfalfa but first hasn't been cut yet. We have sidedressed early corn still need to plant a little. We have been switched to prarie farms co-op for a milk company after the Dean foods fiasco and they didn't pay us out last check. @@coreytrout3857 Ok, yup just started warming up here the last few days. The first cut is usually ready about now but it just started growing a few days ago. Been buying hay and feeding up my four year old straw and anything else I can find. Lol We got a milk check but its was funny to look at, 11.72 pay price that included a 35 cent quality premium, then they took out 1.72 covid 19 adjustment and if I remember a little over a dollar "market adjustment". @@mrbill4187 my goodness I don't see how y'all are surviving those kind of prices. The DFA producers here are paying a 1.60 covid penalty and being asked to reduce production by 25 percent. We aren't being fined but we are back on base with no override which I'm for base but I would like to have had an extra thousand pounds more than what I got .A few guys will have to dump at the end of the month but with our heat production will fall enough to get most of us under.

      @@coreytrout3857 That should be done up here. When the guys ftom California came her 12-15 years ago and flooded the market a bunch of guys started getting bigger to make up for the lower price. Then the California guys built a milk powder plant and bought up another dairy processor and quit taking outside milk, I don't see to much future other than processing milk myself wich ain't going to happen. We were getting around 16 dollars before the china flu hit though. Do they figure the base off from production history?

    • @mrbill4187

      I don't but I plan on striptilling all my corn this spring if conditions are right, I will do a video on it if I remember. I ended up putting an electric motor on it instead of the ground drive like I originally planned. Gives me the option to shut it off or vary the rate that way.

      It will make me feel better in some of those heavy clay soils that aren't in the best of shape I think. Lol Theres one Dalton and the rest are Clymer. I was going to cheap out with some yetters that weren't independent but I remember you saying the independent ones worked a lot better. The daltons are cheaper from fertilizer dealer supply but the clymers were cheaper at Shoups with there 10 percent sale in February they had. There identical other than the Dalton must have poly bushings because there's no grease fitting on the pivot like the Clymers. Was going to make some but after making one that didn't work the best I broke down and bought some. Lol

    • @mrbill4187

      I was thinking just a half and half of DAP and potash at 100# to the acre. Most of the ground around here is excessive on phosphorus so not much needed. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks, if I remember correctly there Hi-pro mole knife with a inch and a half tubes. I got it all working but haven't used the fertilizer as of yet. Hoping its dry enough early spring I can try some spring strip-till. I'm worried about blending though because ever since the fertilizer dealers started using agrotain and instinct it sticks in there blender even if I don't have it put in and have had trouble plugging the spouts. Might just apply straight potash.

    • @mrbill4187
      @mrbill4187  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mn-1381 The mole knives are made to bolt to an anhydrous style shank so I cut the chisel shanks off and welded mounts to the back of them, originally I was going to just use a small chisel point but it threw way to much dirt to suit me. I wanted to preserve the benefits of the no till I've been doing for ten years. Hopefully the welds hold up or I'll have to get some different shanks. Nice part about these is they got the dry fertilizer tubes welded to them already.
