    I really enjoy your craft. Growing up in Ontario has afforded me great outdoor times. 40 plus years at the cottage, great winter camping when I was young back in the 70's in pristine environments. Just usually there was 6 feet of snow and it was brutally cold. Ice fishing on the Great Lakes only chopping multiples holes through 4 feet of very hard blue ice under my fathers direction made for a very tiring day. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Good times. Thanks Mitch when I watch you it reminds me of very good days.

    You can make a better meal in the forest than I can make in a kitchen.

    Delicious, man! I must agree with your friend though - some potatoes, carrots, onions, etc would have been the cherry on top)) thanks for sharing, brother))

    That was a good point about 'native' winter woods food: the vegetables are not there! We would have traded for salt and peppercorn so that fits the premise of using what is seasonally available. That twist lifts this survival video above the 'winter camping' modern mode.

    Nice effort... I think I'll try the same approach with a packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix (or two) thrown in for gravy thickener / flavor.

    I have to call you on an error. That is meat was braised, not roasted! LOL, nice when that is the only thing I can complain about. Now I am hungry! How long did it take to cook? You hung it over the fire first, and then added fuel to the fire and placed the pot in the coals. Can you give us the approximate time for each?

    that lid made of titanium, will it bend / warp when you put the coal on it?

    • @Nativesurvival
      @Nativesurvival  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No absolutely not, ive used titanium for a year in the woods like this straight in coals and flames etc absolutely no warping, this isnt the first time ive been asked this. It appears someone was mistaken and put out false info. Titanium is very robust as you can see in this vid even when used as a dutch oven as i did here directly buried in hot embers. Actual experience is more valuable than misinfo floating around, especially as it was probably spread by someone who doesnt even use titanium lol always is...

    • @AnthraxThy01
      @AnthraxThy01 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much for your reply and this helped me a lot. I want to purchase a dutch oven for camp but it is too heavy for me. And that false info have been struggled me as the main reason for not buying titanium pot. I've been subscribed your channel before you participate in "Alone". Likes your videos a lot and learns many out doors knowledge with it. Please keep it up.

      When the lid was lifted, a little ash blew into the pot. I was amazed Mitch was able to clean the ash of the pot as well as he did before lifting the lid.
