Doing final year computer science now and hearing Edward speak is very insightful. I think I might invest in a personal finance course thanks to this video. Great work

really appreciate the contrast between Edward's point on moving to a new city with friends vs you being interested in trying a totally fresh start at some point, because I've thought about the latter a lot too, but when Edward mentioned moving with a friend, I was like, "o fuck what if I'm just fkn weird" but nah it's just different for different people

Also a recent grad here from Cal. Definitely find it harder to make friends but I think it's honestly hard to tell because of the pandemic. I've been reconnecting with old friends and meeting their friends which has been nice. Even with work from home it can be hard to bond with coworkers.

post graduate life seems hard to find friends sometimes, tbh. reminds me of wong fu's series of "Dating After College" honestly in terms of making new friends and relationships.

Well, I didn't graduate from UC Berkeley, but yeah I would agree with a lot of the things mentioned here. The path that your life takes is definitely quite the winding road and totally different from person to person. You largely cannot predict it, either.... well, some things are predictable, but there are always "the greedy jaws of death and chance".
Long term friendships are pretty important and I think it does generally get harder to make friends as you age. I'd say it's probably somewhat a point of pain for me as many of my close friendships are kind of disappointing. I don't expect more from my friends, it's not their fault, however it has more to do with what I'm looking for in life and they just don't quite fit. I'll still be friends with them, but we won't be nearly as close as we used to be.

Damn I'm going to Berkeley as an international and I'm super worried it will be hard to fit into Cal because 70% of people are from California. I used to live in New York and always wondered, if I leave California and move back to nyc after graduating I probably won't have a friend circle in the east coast haha.
