Oh that's fantastic, I'm glad you found it! I can only imagine how that part of culture must've been such a fun experience to live through! It seems so foreign now that the casual clothing style has shifted so far from these old standards - it's funny to look at these college kids and think this was the grubbiest they could get with a closet full of such timeless, classic pieces - even at their worst, they still looked pretty cool!

One of the best menswear videos I’ve ever seen. Very well researched, great reference images, love the outfit suggestions. Subscribed! Would love to see something similar about the British country look - like ivy style, it’s something that still has a lot of relevance.

Fantastic video. I really enjoyed the attention you gave to this timeless style. Great job highlighting what was happening on college campuses at that time. The impact on fashion of returning GIs is rarely touched upon. The foundation of the look really being traditional pieces with a nod to English staples is spot on. This makes the style appropriate at any age. I appreciate the effort it took to put together the info and graphics for your list of 25. Great work.

@@jrandom2995 Thank you so much - I’m glad you enjoyed it! It is so interesting to learn about the culture around Ivy League style having been not always so one dimensional as just rich prep school kids and realizing this was such a standard language of school clothes for any background. And as far as the English influence - that to me always seems like the most interesting time, in that menswear started incorporate and blend all of these cultural traditions of what began to become more available to folks though the ability to travel more frequently and collect this wardrobe with diverse influences - but wasn’t yet too saturated like today’s endless choices of anything and everything. @@gordonroome well thanks, normally I would agree with you - but in the Bruce Boyer article A Curmudgeon’s Lament he called out that “trousers were cut just this side of baggy” so maybe you’re right, I crossed over too far…I guess a more well appointed student would’ve visited his tailor before each semester 😜

LL Bean has been annoying me lately with their only trim fit shirings offered, and some others might have better khakis for the price than the $200 ones.........

I still prefer blue trousers to tan for some pairings.

Maybe a little redundant if you were just going to do the capsule idea without allowing for multiple sweaters in the intro or whatever. I mean, a capsule would only be the one grey one, right? Here we can have green and red and a blue one with a logo on it, too. Yay.
