Howie is one of the first comedian specials I ever saw, other than George Carlin, Bob Nelson, Rodney Dangerfield, Emo Phillips, and a couple others. I was in grade school probably 3rd grade and me and my buddy used to mimic the things Howie would do. What would you do? that part. Or when Howie stood on a dummy leg with a net on his head, and took the net and through and said something like And now I will stand on one leg without a net. And, then he took that guys chair, and put it on stage and started throwing stuff at him, telling him it was just like 3D. It's my potty and I will cry if I want too. I WANT ANOTHER HOWIE MANDEL STAND UP SPECIAL. One of my favorite movies as a kid was "Walk Like a Man"
Funniest thing about it is that Will made this joke infamous and here we are talking about it a year later and every comedian has Jada's name in their mouth where as If he would've just stayed in his seat the world would have forgotten about the joke 10sec later.
Jada Pinkett dose not have to be bald. She could buy up all the hair in India. She has options. Most people with alopecia don’t have the financial resources to get a cosmetic intervention. They don’t even have access to basic health care but she gets bent out of shape over something that was her choice that she said she was proud of.
I saw the Rock joke as a means of describing her as a strong bald woman...like GIJane, not just a bald woman. If it was just a bald joke, he could have said she was starting in the remake of Kojak. GI Jane was a movie about strength.
Jada could have smiled and flexed one of her massaged, toned arms. That would have been a great “woman power” moment but she rolled her eyes and Will lost his brains. Sad moment but shows wills true character
Jeff was always going to have a good take on that mess, but this is even better than I could have expected. It's a shame that Will normalized bullying people with hair loss: he turned a teachable moment into yet another fear-based one. And also injected shame into the conversation. Boggles my mind they could ban him for 10 years, yet still let him pick up a "Best Actor" trophy. Such a waste of an opportunity, in so many ways.
Great insights. As Jeff states, she doesn’t get to own the hair conversation. Everyone is sensitive about their hair. If she had just laughed it off it would have helped everything and everyone.
Think about what he was screaming when he sat back down, and what’s really in the blank: “Keep my wife’s ______ out your f***ing mouth.” This rage was not about his wife’s name and it was about somebody else’s mouth. And it’s impotent rage, when immediately after smacking the person who supposedly offended your wife right across the face, you are still out of control screaming at the top of your lungs. Nobody who saw this terrifying vision of a man nakedly displaying his humiliation to the entire world, can ever forget it.
It was the repeated screaming that made it worse. He was trying to instill his dominance over a man in front of millions of people. If he kept quiet after the smack and later apologized, the anger over this incident would have lessened . This was textbook bullying here.
I have had a few mental breakdowns in the past and on occasions my hair would fall out and I had bald spots appear in my beard etc..I always wondered if the two were a result of each other..
I came on here because of Jeff. I'm watching NATIONAL SECURITY movie and I'm like is that the X-Files guy lol. Then I Googled him and was like who's that bald guy. Then I Googled why is Jeff bald and it said alopecia. And then I found this video. See I would've thought well that's normal. But anyways. I'm glad he's healthy and I'm healthy too
Jeff Ross is 100% correct that this is an emergency…and it’s about our free speech being under attack. The thing I didn’t get was that I thought the minor joke was complimentary. Demi was so hot and kickass in that movie, it was a compliment to Jada as far as I took it. Not to mention you could absolutely tell Chris did not know she had alopecia…which shouldn’t matter one way or the other. It was such a mild joke….JOKE being the key word here. Will also thought it was funny. These people take themselves WAY too seriously and you can tell that the damage Will did at that moment to the right of free speech actually completely escapes him, which as he is an artist that just shows how sincerely crazy the world is right now.
Jada did do a red table talk episode on alopecia but that still doesn't mean that Chris Rock knew. I didn't know & don't watch the red table talk show consistently at all
That GI Jane 2 joke was so misunderstood. It wasn't an insult. That's why Chris says "come on, it was a GI Jane joke" when he saw The Smiths get mad. Chris thought Jada looked like such a badass that she could be the next GI Jane.
Exactly. The colour of her dress was very close to an “army” green too. I thought the joke was cute. Oh, she doesn’t really have Alopecia - just bald bits from hair-do stress and facelift scars.
For a guy whose stick is to rip everyone off with cutting remarks that masquerade as humour….. he made a true humanitarian statement we need to educate ourselves to the disabilities of our fellow human beings and work on understanding and helping rather that criticize !
Does the MSM deserve credit for pointing out the insanity of Will Smith or social media? MSM covered it endlessly as a news item no doubt. But the perspective is owed to the public to the public at large. Mira Sorvino at the awards ceremony a couple of hours after the slap tells a news reporter Chris disrespected Will’s wife. And sat on the fence not condemning the slap and opted for the it’s regrettable route.
What she did was evil, even more than what Will did. Will just gave up any self control and self-awareness that he had and acted on an impulse like an idiot. She wanted all that to happen, and im sure she enjoyed it, it looked like it, judging by the things she's done to him in public for all to see. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't regret anything that happened. She's terrible.
I can’t stand Jada. But after I read Will Smith’s book it was so obvious he is a controlling narcissist and egomaniac. He was awful to every girlfriend. I read his book before the Oscars so I wasn’t surprised when Will slapped Chris Rock since it was clear he thought he was untouchable. I was shocked that when I finished reading his book, I felt a little sorry for Jada. I really dislike her so that’s saying a lot. Will drives everyone around him crazy. He’s exhausting! I used to think Jada was the problem but after getting a better look at his behavior I realize that both of them are toxic.
Queen Nefertiti of ancient Egypt used to shave her head, like all ancient Egyptians did at the time. And she's considered one of the most beautiful women of all time. So...
Yes, Jada has short hair, but what everyone is missing is she was wearing an army green dress. Which put the two together would be an easy joke to make on the the fly.
Will and Jada are just toxic specimens that should be relegated to obscurity. Ross is absolutely right. Jada could have laughed and made it better for people everywhere.
I'm pretty sure that dude who tried to assault Dave Chappelle would have done it regardless of the Will Smith Chris Rock incident. That dude was nuts and tried to stab Chappelle. It's a completely different scenario, but it's easy to assume one led to the other.
She should have stood up and bowed at that joke. She would have owned the moment. Because not only could she rock the role, she would have looked amazing doing it.
MY GOD ROSS THAT IS SO AWESOME YOUR POINT. WHAT A SHAME Her immaturity "bad behavior" Immediately, "like a reflex" took over What an uncivil, unintelligent, unacceptable Response.
It’s funny (not funny), but I saw Chapelle live in Portland about a week if not a few days before the incident and he literally said that he was scared that something like that was going to happen to him
It might be surprising to some, but the whole world doesn't watch *Red Table Talk.* So Jada's fans might have known about her alopecia, but not many other people.
We all thought she had shaved her head as a fashion statement. The whole world didn't know. She looked great. AND G.I. Jane is like what Demi Moore did. After the fact, man Jada and Will not curry favor for a long time.
The other side of the alopecia angle, is that if it was traumatic enough for a little girl to kill herself over it then maybe we shouldn't be making fun of it at all. The trauma that people suffer for whatever reason we really have to be conscious of whether or not we make fun of it. Teasing that little 10-year-old girl is the EXACT same as teasing Jada pinkett Smith. So if you're going to have sympathy for little girl being teased with alopecia. You should also have sympathy for Jada pinkett Smith. That doesn't give Will Smith an excuse to slap Chris Rock. But many people made Jada a villain for feeling some kind of way about this
I can understand Jada ......... Cris just Fucked up on the Night ..... I Think Cris was trying to make her look at G I Jane Demi Moore ... A stunner . He was laughing first . Seen The Wifes Face Had to back track Cris was trying to do a complment to Jada ..... That Totally back fired
The other little thing no one talks about: presenter's making fun of audience members means you're part of the "IT" crowd. To me...It's far more of an insult to jab Will and not Jada. Throwing her a joke was a kindness...and you should be able to attack the beauty of just about any woman of Hollywood at an award show like that, they're all 10/10...lol, it's like mocking Heisman candidates for being slow...the entire point of choosing Demi Moore in that movie was the defense secretary (?) wanting a better looking woman "on the cover of time magazine" Rant over.
The real crazy thing is the Will is (allegedly) a COMIC!! The fact that he can’t sense humor or laugh at it highlights why I parenthesized the word allegedly.
Jada smith went to the Oscar’s with her bald head. Basically saying “I am not ashamed”. Nobody cared. She looked amazing. IF she went with a wig, and Chris had pulled it off, well, that had been an offensive act. You are a Hollywood superstar, you sit at the front row, you want and need the attention. For Gods sake, US hold roasts, which are considered an honor to be at the center of
Not even that-if you didn't know she had alopecia u would've thought that it was just her haircut. To me, it was just a silly joke, equating her hairstyle to G.I., Jane, and the fact that they made it all about alopecia changed the whole thing.
“That’s why it’s called a ‘sense’ of humor “.

You’re not a man if you beat up people weaker than you. That’s just pathetic.
The smith family have been toxic for a long time. One is a tranny, one has a British accent but only when she sings, the mom fucks her kids friends … and all are riding on the coat tail of their famous father.
Shout out to Kenny 🤣I felt that. New at a job and made a mistake that shut everything down for the whole factory.
Wow that's a good point! This is the best point.
I appreciate Jeff's perspective.
This is a very interesting take on the alopecia angle that makes a lot of sense.
Well done Jeff Ross all excellent points well made
Jeff Ross...is the best
To bad Rickels wasn’t with us still, I bet he would have unloaded on Smith.
Rickles would’ve Buried both Will & Jada in one sentence & exclamation mark❗️ like Jim Carey said from that moment of the slap..Hollywood is not the cool club anymore.
Jada does NOT have alopecia, she has a very small spot on her head that does not have hair. She shaves her head, look at her closely, you will see .
Alopecia is different in every person. It can show up as one spot or many spots over the course of the journey.
@Sandra Brown She's trying to make it out to be much much more than it is. Shaving her entire head because of a spot as big as a quarter is pretty extreme,,,that said, I do get your point though.
Will was embarrassed due to Jada f#$king her son's best friend.
She shaves her head because she has hair but with alot of bald spot's that's how alopecia works so instead of having bald spot's she just shaves the lot off
She has alopecia bruh
Finally a unique and interesting take on it.
Guys: nobody knew Jada had alopecia
Every girl: no, she did a thing about it so everyone knew.
GI Jane was a movie about strength.
the entire world needs to watch this
Who knew Jeff had a deeper side. Great stuff brother. Thanks for enlightening us. And F will smith
true that we all need to loosen up and laugh a little more !
I'm glad Howie mentioned the dumpster fire behind him before the end of this clip.😆
Never thought I’d hear a lucid poignant point from Jeff Ross. I’m impressed.
I didn't know Jada had alopecia until days after the slap...💥👋🏾
Jeff is a real one
Wearing a Jeff Ross shirt that he signed from the improv in brea years ago haha. Him being real is appreciated
Spot on.
Lov you bro! You always had the nuts to say how you feel. It’s nice to see you’re not pussing out like everyone else
I didn't know & don't watch the red table talk show consistently at all
Jeff, keep doing what you're doing, don't censor yourself. F Will Smith.
Jeff is spot on. Will S did not kill anybody but what he did was deplorable.
Most people had no idea she had alopecia. They didn't watch her red table or anything she puts out. What's Howie's co-host talking about?
For a guy whose stick is to rip everyone off with cutting remarks that masquerade as humour….. he made a true humanitarian statement we need to educate ourselves to the disabilities of our fellow human beings and work on understanding and helping rather that criticize !
Big bang poked fun at Stephen Hawking. It Elevated my opinion of Stephen Hawking.
Stfu everybody DEALS WITH IT DIFFERENT "ROAST" "MASTER"
This is the most real I have ever seen Jeff Ross. Love him
You the man Kenny
He's right; if Jada had laughed at that joke, it would've helped. And . J.I. Jane??? ???? Tough , gorgeous character..❤ to be compared to, wow.
This was simply 💯
She was smirking after he sat back down
They have looks & charm, but not character & their kid Jaden acts like an imbicile. The family is kind of a train wreck.
Jess Ross is shape shifting into Cheech Marin
Queen Nefertiti of ancient Egypt used to shave her head, like all ancient Egyptians did at the time. And she's considered one of the most beautiful women of all time. So...
I have the opposite condition, I have hair growing from places it shouldn't be. 🤨
I never knew Jeff Ross had alopecia. I think it's because he never made it a big deal.
Yes, Jada has short hair, but what everyone is missing is she was wearing an army green dress. Which put the two together would be an easy joke to make on the the fly.
Come chris lets take him.on 😂❤🎉😢😢😢😊
Will and Jada are just toxic specimens that should be relegated to obscurity.
Love Jeff thanks
But if she laughed, she'd wouldn't be able to be a victim. I hear being a victim is in vogue in Hollywood these days. The Pain!!! The Pain!!!
Jeff Ross would make a great Walter Matthau lookalike
She should have stood up and bowed at that joke. She would have owned the moment. Because not only could she rock the role, she would have looked amazing doing it.
MY GOD
ROSS THAT IS SO AWESOME
YOUR POINT.
WHAT A SHAME
Her immaturity "bad behavior"
Immediately, "like a reflex" took over
What an uncivil, unintelligent, unacceptable
Response.
She has traction alopecia. It’s from wearing extensions
That ended weird. With Howie. Rudely interrupting the girl speaking
It would be GI Jeff and I’d see that movie!
That spinning digital art at the start just made it so hard to even see Jeff Ross 😂 there’s no need for it to be so large!
It’s funny (not funny), but I saw Chapelle live in Portland about a week if not a few days before the incident and he literally said that he was scared that something like that was going to happen to him
Jeff Ross looks like Ryan Reynolds in Dead Pool after he gets disfigured.
LOL
But many people made Jada a villain for feeling some kind of way about this
Well said.
I can understand Jada .........
Cris just Fucked up on the Night .....
I Think Cris was trying to make her look at G I Jane Demi Moore ...
A stunner .
He was laughing first .
Seen The Wifes Face
Had to back track
Cris was trying to do a complment to Jada .....
That Totally back fired
The other little thing no one talks about: presenter's making fun of audience members means you're part of the "IT" crowd. To me...It's far more of an insult to jab Will and not Jada. Throwing her a joke was a kindness...and you should be able to attack the beauty of just about any woman of Hollywood at an award show like that, they're all 10/10...lol, it's like mocking Heisman candidates for being slow...the entire point of choosing Demi Moore in that movie was the defense secretary (?) wanting a better looking woman "on the cover of time magazine"
Rant over.
The real crazy thing is the Will is (allegedly) a COMIC!! The fact that he can’t sense humor or laugh at it highlights why I parenthesized the word allegedly.
OMG Jeff Ross looks like the poster boy for the Great Famine of Ireland 🇮🇪….😮
Oh that’s why
