Rolo to the Rescue is a platformer for the Genesis, starring an agile elephant, Rolo. Gameplay involves freeing animals from cages. Switching to the saved animals allows for different movement modes, which adds some puzzle elements. The overworld is assembled by getting pieces from clearing stages.
By herself, Rolo can only take one hit, but the animals she frees will take a hit then leave the group. Rolo is a perfectionist, anything less than 100% gets the bad ending, which is quite dark for a game that seems aimed at kids.
This is an 808 frame improvement over the previous publication ( tasvideos.org/... ).

i used to cry in frustration as a little kid playing this in the 90s at how insanely difficult this game was. never beat it either but got very close.. this was awesome to watch! how nostalgic!!!

Someone need to make a good ending TAS for a change, I rented this game by accident back at the time and actually it's a solid and challenging game.

It's a good game but there's one major feature missing : A save feature or a long password like in James Pond 3 that appears in the game ! The game is WAY too long to be done in a single setting.

@@williamzeo2493 Basically every RPG & A-RPG : Crusader of Centy/Soleil, Landstalker, Phantasy Star 2,3&4, ...) and some games like MicroMachine Military (time and progress), Flashback, Fifa Soccer 95-96-67, Starflight, Star Cruiser (Japanese exclusive that is also a 3D space opera (give it a look)) and even Sonic 3 (& Knuckles if plugged in).
And I'm sure this list isn't exhaustive at all.
