Gunstar Heroes (1993) is widely considered to be one of the best action games on the Sega Genesis, but, ironically, was commercially unsuccessful due to poor promotion. It features a variety of melee attacks, as well as 4 basic weapons which can be combined in pairs (making a total of 14 combinations) - all densely packed in a swift and explosion-heavy gameplay spanning over seven uniquely designed stages. The author takes special care to showcase all the moves the game is capable of, using every possible attack and having lots of fun playing around in autoscrolling sections.
This movie is a little under 4 and a half minutes faster than the previous (tasvideos.org/9...) one due to more aggressive boss fights and a new movement technique. See the author's comments (tasvideos.org/5...) for more details.
The encodes for this movie are also slightly larger than usual - this is due to an amount of colors and on-screen motion even the best codecs have problems coping with. - เกม

I don't know about anyone else but that "STAGE CLEAR" sequence, music and all, makes me want to go batshit insane breakdancing.
The soundtrack to this game was way ahead of it's time. For anyone who hasn't, I suggest checking out the arranged soundtrack.

I always found the fight with the core absolutely terrifying because of how the ENTIRE FUCKING ROOM started to spin at what looked like Mach 8 when the Runner form came in.
This is probably the Super Metroid of the Genesis. Well regarded, quite well TASed, and basically a cult classic, but not for everyone.

When he fought the boss @ 5:26 onward with all the different robot forms I thought of Mischief Makers when I saw the blue falcon and dog robot. Then I noticed both games were developed by Treasure. 👍
Seven Force also appeared in Alien Soldier, though with new forms. They really like this concept, apparently!

Ganymede, Jupiter III For great music, it is a powerful rival to Sonic 3 and Knuckles.

Iono what the fuck TAS means cuz I was just looking for reviews of this game but this is the coolest fucking shit I've ever seen. Im in awe seeing my favorite video game played like this.
Someone's basically played the game frame by frame, sometimes backing up and redoing things so that they can get a theoretically perfect run of the game. Not much of this is humanly feasible, but that's not really the point either.
I would say - A good anime/manga would come out of this..loved..especially the ending

yeah you'd think all of Eagle Force would hurt, but nah the main body is pretty safe to hang out in like that. Seven Force in general is pretty lax with hitboxes, which i appreciate as someone who spent months trying to make three solid minutes of a single bossfight entertaining to watch :|

why the use of seeker over laser on the mine cart stage boss?
They do the same amount of damage per frame on Expert, and it's more consistent damage for Tails Force and Tiger Force since I can't always stay close to them.
Samsara oh i thought it was like a damage reset mechanic for the flame thrower - that maybe laser and flame thrower would have similar damage properties - so the ticks from seeker would help the flames

As fun as this run is... MY GOD, those submission notes. They're halfway being massively entertaining and genuinely concerning due to their length.
not the first time people have been concerned over my length. WINK. nah but honestly, this run was made and those notes were written at a pretty rough time in my life. a few sections haven't aged well at all. i've gotten a lot better since then and my submission notes will only be VAGUELY concerning from now on.

Don't worry, throwing your partner doesn't hurt them unless you throw them into a pit or projectile such as a laser.
