Thank you Jody and God bless you! You are honestly trying hard to teach us all your tips and tricks that one can learn only with huge effort and experience, and in this case we get to take shortcuts on your channel! I really wonder how can anybody dislike your videos... Very sincere greetings to you and all your loved ones from Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Thank you Jody C. I know TH-cam ads have been getting pulled and these videos aren't free. time= money. I support welding tips add tricks! have a tips and tricks sticker on my Jackson hood, and a Tig finger to boot! you're the best! even after going to one of the best Welding programs in my state taking welding inspection courses and all! I still find you're videos informational and fun! Again thanks

Thanks for copping up to dips. I've been tigging for years and I dip all the time. If it's not decorative or highly structural I just keep going unless it balled really bad or the arch wanders out of control. Clean, clean, clean is My main weapon. Great Bee's wax tip.

You talking about duffing your electrode was very timely and really helped me not beat myself up a lot. I just got a new Square Wave 200 and was practicing aluminum last night and its been a while. Was practicing T joints and man, I plopped that filler rod right onto that electrode 4 times within an hours time and really had me mentally beat. Its nice to know even the pro's do it. :-)
Thanks for the great video Jody!! Picking up a tig finger today!! :-)

I've been tig welding 30 years and I keep 3 or 4 sharpened tungsten right next to Me. I'm a really good welder but tig jerky, some can't weld and are and as smooth as silk. Nice thing about welding, there's always a do over. I get the feeling Your welds are really good.

Thanks for this video Jody. I want to get into fabricating with aluminum, and this could be a good little project to start with. - A tote trays are always something you need, make one when you start, put the date on the bottom. Then as you progress, probably need another, so make another, put the date on it. That way you can see how you improve! Great tip about the beeswax on the cutting disc. Regards and respect to you Jody.

Great job with the podcast! I have listened to 18 of them in 2 days and all i can say is that they are really entertaining and you pick up one or two things from every podcast (or maybe 10 for a newbie like me). When i first heard of it i didnt think it would be for me since i really like to see a video while im listening to something but its perfect for when im working or doing something at home!
Just wanna say thank you to Crummy welding, Superior welding and fabrication and to you Jody!

You can't have enough grinders. I've got mine set up with different attachments so I don't have to spend time changing them all of the time. I learned that pretty fast when I learned how to weld with my first everlast welder. I was spending more time changing the (one) grinder I had than actually welding.

I noticed you didn't scrub the aluminum diamond plate with a stainless steel wire brush. Does that not have oxide coating? Seem like it wouldn't weld, but obviously it did. You did a great job on welding that. I'm learning to TIG. I'm doing a box much like this and I'm having a hell of a time getting a decent bead.

You ran all those long corner joints with an air cooled torch? Did you ever have to stop and wait for it to cool or did you just power through? I remember you saying in previous videos you like to test the limits of air cooled rigs. But this one, I'd imagine, would be quite a stretch.

Would it help to put steel wool in the end of the tube to keep the chimney effect ? I made a box that was sealed but could not close it since it pushed the hot air into the weld and made it muddy.

I tried the same but using smooth instead of diamond sheet and it went all wobbly also my tungsten looked nice and a beautiful colored ball on the end but went fury looking like a magnet with metal filings on it after a while i was using a number 6 cup, 12psi argon at 100 amps and a grey tungsten. I tacked it off the same even stopped and started the welds look good just the box looks ordinary.

I do this type of TIG welding a lot. I noticed you wiped off the edges before welding. That is critical and I cant stress that enough. Acetone works best and dont be stingy. Also instead of wax I use a 50% mix of cutting oil and WD40, it wipes off easier and it lubricates just as well or better than wax. Another point I would like to make is using filler rod. What we do is use overlapping joints and we just use fusion joints. Number one a fusion joint in this appilication is just as strong qnd you dont have to waste filler rod. Number two a fusion joint is flat so you kinda eliminats the box sliding around on those higher peaks on the weld bead. This is just my experience qnd may not apply to everyone.
