Fantastic stuff! I am new to Vega-Lite and Deneb and I have been trying to create a similar visual, more like a gauge, where I have more than one mark on the y axis, which I can do, my challenge is I am trying to set the starting value of the y axis based on a field data as being the lowest point, but I always end up having 0 as a starting point. The visual is for a trading account and you may have a $100k account and the range you need to worry about is your maximum limit loss which would be 8% of the starting balance of 100k, $92,000, and the target is 8% the to the upside, $108,000. Therefore the range for the visual on the y axis needs to be 92,000 to 108,000. The question I have is how do I set the range for the y axis based on field data and not hard coded? I would be very grateful for any guidance on this.

Thanks so much for this, Ben! I was wondering if when doing the expression for the color rules, is it possible to work in a color range? Such as if it’s over target go from light green to dark green based on how high the value is and if it’s below target light red to dark red? Thanks again for this video and honestly for ALL of these amazing Deneb videos!!!!

What tool/window/menu item are you using to do this coding?

This is all done inside Deneb, a visualisation you can get for free by clciking on 'get more visuals'.
You can start with the video I have linked here to learn how to get started with this visual and the code:
