- I've got both new EGO Mowers! In this video, I'm gonna be doing some hands on testing and a walkthrough of the EGO 22" Aluminum deck mower (LM2206SP) and their all new lawn tractor, the EGO T6 42" Lawn Tractor (TR4204).
I'm gonna take you through the specifications and features on each of these lawn mowers, tell you what I like about them, what I'm not so hot on, and what makes them stand out among the ever-growing crowd of battery powered lawn mowers. We'll also get to tackle some overgrowth at neighbor's house to see how these EGO mowers stand up to a true challenge. Hope you guys enjoy this EGO Lawn Mower Review!

Comes with High Lift blade? Other reviews are saying it doesn’t have the high, two mulching blades
11.1 foot pounds of torque! The torquiest 4-cycle engine ever used on a 21 or 22-inch mower had "only" 9.6 ft-lb. It was a Robin, and it was used on an Ariens that I used to own. It never stalled. But it was incredibly hard to start.
I have a2110 ego mower. It works very well except 2 things: when at a dead end using the power drive you cannot after stopping moving forward just pull the mower back. To release the power drive you must push it forward slightly then you can pull it back. Quite annoying! The side Shute keeps falling off. I used a bunge cord to hold it in place.
Id love to see ego release a push style edger and a 30 inch mini riding mower at some point
Still waiting for a 30- 33" walk behind that runs off 2x batts.
They’d charge 3k for it.
Would probably be a commercial mower then. With the 2 bats yeah 3k sounds close maybe 2500.
toro time master is 30 inch and has a electric model
@mitchross2852 I saw that, but I am too heavily invested in ego, I have 2x snowblowers, their powerhead system, and 2 of the nexus power units.
I'm trying to keep by battery collection in check, I have dewalt, milwaukee, ryobi and even a snapper product, so I don't want to add another.
Just get a riding mower at that point. Price will be comparable.
Can you recommend a battery operated ride on that can used in the winter for ploughing driveway?
The rear to side discharge chute is a great idea. I just checked my much cheaper poly deck model and it works the same way.
Definitely great news given fuel prices currently. For the price both seem very much on the small side but especially the push mower which is lacking rubber tires and all wheel drive. Be nice to see how the "app" works for what I think now is a John Deere product so full autonomy would be nice as would over the air updates. Definitely moving in the right direction for the riding mower but needs much tougher hood plastic. Type C USB port would be nice as well.
I like that side chute on the walk behind. My 2021 model's chute is so bad. Clogs all the time.
We're really enjoying it, this design is much better with far fewer clogs than we've seen in the past.
@@Protoolreviews sadly part# 3136260001 isn't readily available. Nice that someone on YT made a similar one for their older EGO and it seems to perform really good.
Like to see a smaller riding mower, I do like ego have their string trimmer & leaf blower although 1 of the battery's went belly up I use both with the 1. like to see an elec like a gravely where you can attach a seat to ride on or walk behind all in one.
Bought one yesterday. 😊
Jealous
2 questions. 1) I have bushes where I need to pull the mower backwards for a few seconds, can this mower do that and keep running? 2) Past EGO manuals say not to use on wet grass. I mow in the morning, maybe dew not totally evaporated with my Honda gas mower, can this new model mow damp/wet grass?
I got the tractor and really like it. Only used it a few times though. I'm interested to see how it does in july/august when it's really hot out.
The only problem I see with the push mower is it should have came with the 12 ah battery at the $1200 price point.
Great review dude!
I would love the lawn tractor i have a large hard. I would appreciate them adding a snowblower attachment to it. I use mine for both mowing and snow removal
I heard there is a snow blade coming.
I have a Ryobi electric push mower that I am getting tired of, is a self-propelled mower substantially easier to work with than just a regular push mower?
Yes absolutely. There is no comparison. You just guide it left and right and keep it in line and just walk behind it casually. Definitely jump on a self propelled if you can
Definitely. On the mowers we've tested, the self propelled drive takes quite a load off. It significantly reduces fatigue, and could even open up more mowing capabilities for certain inclines in your yard where you wouldn't wanna push up/down.
About the egos the self propel has a high pitch wine that some people can't stand. It doesn't bother me but it does to others.
This is a little off topic but I noticed your left forearm medic/ medical tattoo. Were you a medic in the military?
It's a medical alert tattoo
@@idontedit7375 oh…I’ve never seen one of those before, didn’t know that was a thing…lol. That’s a better idea than the bracelet, dog tags, or card.
@@txvet7738it's a lot harder to take off 😅
Just got the 21" push mower self propel 2023 model for $60 at the flea market. New, never been used.
Got a couple batteries already cuase of my blower and worked great. I never pay full price. Just not worth it.
I currently own the following Ego products: push mower, blower, hedge trimmer, string trimmer, stick edger / power head.
I won't buy another. They've clearly lost their way. They keep coming out with more of the same at higher and higher prices. They have major gaps in their lineup, yet they keep coming out with more walk-behinds and riders. Where is a dethatcher or a backpack sprayer or reel mower?
I can't imagine that existing customers are going to be rushing out to replace their mowers every year for the latest and greatest and I can't imagine that many new customers are going to rush out and spend $1000s to enter the platform.
Quite frankly, if I had to start over, I'd go with the Ryobi 40v system. They're "good enough" for most lawns and they have a much bigger range of products. Between the Ryobi 18v and 40v lineup, there isn't anything they don't cover for the yard or the shop.
I'm using Ryobi mower so far so good. Trimmer to
How steep of a grade can this new tractor take? I know the zero turn was 5%
What’s really the difference between the regular version and commercial version ?
We haven't had a chance to test the commercial version of the aluminum deck mower, but taking a quick look at the specs and photos it looks like the commercial mower has a more robust build and a more powerful motor... alongside a higher price tag of course 😅
@@Protoolreviews yea seems to only be like 200 more. would you say it's worth it
It needs A 50’Blade. Battery Riding EGO RIDING MOWER. ASAP.
They have a 51 inch
What are the differences between single and double blade? I always bag
Finer mulch, cleaner cut
Bingo 👆🏻
Is the side discharge chute included?
Probably. It and the bagger attachment were included on my $400 poly deck model.
Other youtuber I saw said the side discharge wasn't included on his. Supposedly he contacted ego and it's in the parts list and it's not made yet.
thats a 5k$ lawn tractor that sell at my local Canadian Tire... Im so broke LOL
The tractor comes in at a decent price but $1200 for the 22inch mower is too much.
Ego customer support stinks. The CSRs are very nice, but they have no power to make anything happen. I've been waiting 4 weeks for a 7.5Ah battery for my mower, an approved warranty replacement, but they haven't shipped it an CSRs have no idea why the warehouse hasn't shipped it.
Bought a generic battery.
My second battery died at 2 years and 1/2, my fault for not reaching out to them on time during the warranty time as hectic time. I would say these things are know to die in three years be ready to spend close to $400 or more for just battery. I am saying good bye to EGO and hello and I am sorry for leaving you gas mower from the start.
$1000 bucks is not even in the ballpark for me. I just want to cut my lawn without going broke.
Still waiting for a reel mower.
I have a new Toro lithium, it sucks, drive wheel fell off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.
Does it come with a matching purse?
Beware, Ego's "warranty" is a useless scam. You take your tool back to place of purchase, and they send it out to local scam repair dudes who drum up a fake reason that the repair isn't under warranty even if its a known issue.
LMAO, 56volt.
Not bad mowers, but boy their batteries suck, overall gas mowers are more economical. The money that you will spend to purchase new battery replacement you can run your gas mower for 10 years. Have a Honda/craftsman that I purchased from Sears in 2005 still runs with its factory oil and spark plug , no electric mower can beat that. Bought a Ego 21” (870$) 2021 on following season (2022) won’t even start exchange it , the leveler on the “new “ one broke last fall (2023) and now the battery died (450$) 10amp, and my 19+ years Honda still running 😂
1100 for a 21 inch mower? That's crazy stupid. 4000 for a basic ride on that's even worse
Agreed. Unfortunately, these electric yard tools will always be significantly more expensive than gas due to the cost of the batteries. I guess there's an argument to be made that they eventually save money due to not requiring gas refills, but I imagine it takes quite a while for them to pay for themselves.
1200 is no bueno for me
Have your priced out a descent ICE 21 inch? Over a grand for a descent Honda. My HRC was 1200 four years ago.
