Caught this one in person. By the end of the tune i has tears coming out of my eyes. I admit i was tripping hard, but man, moving experience. This was the night i knew what i was going to be doing for the foresable future, and that was seeing the guys as much as possible, and that is exactly what i did ❤
Some peak "Fatman" footage. Joni is great. There is a great video of Jerry, Bobby and Phil doing this song acoustically. Thanks again Jack, always awesome.
It really isn't a Joni Mitchell tribute. The song is about "a" woman, so Jack chose to feature some photos of Ms. Joni Mitchell, as a stand-in for all women. She is pretty good to look at, and she has a history with The Dead, and music in general, she is one of the best ever. Bob Dylan's words, the Grateful Dead's music and Joni Mitchell pictures, nope, nothing wrong here.

Can anyone explain how this is a Joni Mitchell tribute? I don't get it.

He asked for an explanation. I think it was supposed to be an homage to Joan Collins, the Dynasty actress. That's my explanation anyway.
