guys fellow viewers please don't skip the ads it will be a great help to Matt and maricar, as for the video man it's another awesome informative video, food prices in the province are really much cheaper than here in metro manila, prices may vary from the different provinces but I think the difference in the amount is not that significant, that convenience store near your house is very nice and the price of the goods are reasonable also and lastly I'm very happy to see the cute and gwapo Anton again with his cute antics, by the way matt I think you should also teach him how to speak polish after all it's his father's language because being multilingual is always an advantage and who knows he may work and settle down someday in Poland, and as always man stay safe and stay 😎 cool as you are, until your next video ✌️ peace

Thank you very much for your support! I thought it was cheaper in Manila. This shop is great, before that I had to go to Siquijor now I do all the shopping in San Juan which has lower prices in the market square. As a rule, I only speak Polish to a little boy, I am aware that only I can teach him the language. Thanks and all the best to you!

@@IslaPamilya Matt. I agree. It is important to start speaking to Anton in Polish so he will start leaning at this age. Young children have malleable mind and soaks up knowledge like a sponge. He will grow up speaking 3 languages plus even the local dialect.
My regret is not teaching my son Tagalog when he was a child. I feel so bad about that.

Thanks for taking us along shopping at the Public market. If there is anything i miss about the Philippines - it is the local fruit and vegetables. Most of the tropical fruit and asian vegetables here in America are imported from South America: Mexico, Chili, Peru, Guatemala, etc. therefore the prices are outrageous!

Nice shopping trip Matt. You have a very good rapport with your shop keepers!! You don't often see the expats doing the shopping because of the skin tax but I think you do okay with your friendly attitude. Truthfully, having been there three years and you still have patience with everyone says to me you are very happy in the Philippines!! Maricar is just spicy enough to keep you guessing and lovely enough to keep you at home. I think it's a very nice life. Thx Matt & Maricar, Be Happy Be Safe.

skin tax is a myth, more like looks rich tax. filipinos too have to hustle. matt have to learn how to hustle, but I think he knows too but he's to nice to bother asking. prices are already fair and these people are also trying to make a living. but I still wanna hear matt hustle tho just for entertainment purposes 😂

Food prices look to be about the same as in the US. Cheaper in some US stores. Kind of amazing fruit grown in the Philippines and flown to the US can be cheaper in the US than in the Philippines. It's expensive to move freight in the Philippines. Even rice is cheaper or same in the US which was a big surprise to me.
But then any prepared food is much cheaper in the Philippines I assume because of labor costs.
I bought butter for $0.97/lb yesterday. So 7 times more expensive in the Philippines. But that's on sale. It goes on sale often here so I stock up. Everyday price is about $3/lb so still twice as much in the Philippines. Many expat videos from many countries often say how cheap food is in that country compared to the US and it isn't true. Maybe they have no idea what food costs or shop only in the most expensive places. Super expensive stores in the US are becoming popular. For example the exact same brand of butter, same product, sells for $2.89 at Walmart is $5.59 at AJ's Fine Foods, almost twice as much. But even $5.59/lb is less than the $7/lb in the Philippines.
Bought eggs yesterday for $0.97/1.5 doz. Philippines that costs $2.70/1.5 doz so 2.8 times more expensive in the Philippines. Again I bought on sale, often on sale. Everyday price at Walmart is $2.13/1.5 doz still cheaper than the Philippines.
Pork, chichen much cheaper in US.
Americans complain a lot about the cost of food. They have no idea what a great deal they're getting...even if they choose to shop in stores that charge twice as much.

Many articles are more expensive here than in Poland. And the wages here are very poor. Filipinos are masters of survival. Only fish and shrimp are cheaper than in Poland, maybe also beef. But chicken and pork is cheaper.
Improted stuff like milk or butter will be expensive thats normal they bring it from new zeland.
Life on a small island is much more expensive than on a large island, such as Luzon, Cebu or Mindano, because of transport and all middle mans.

food is always more expensive in islands since they have to ship everything in.

In California the prices go up. But every week they have sales. And during pandemics, food bank is everywhere. They giving lots of food cans, fresh food and frozen food. No starvation here, because the government here are prioritized to help poor people specially for kids. Free meals for seniors and homeless people. Not like in the Philippines. Because they all corrupt!

Great video to see how prices have changed so much, its been 2019 since my last visit, damn covid, it seems Philippines has become expensive because ppl are trying to regenerate loss of earnings
I understand this but ultimately it will push tourists away?

    • @IslaPamilya
      @IslaPamilya  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thanks! There is a more serious problem that destroys tourism for a long time, maybe even forever. The prices at the market have nothing to do with it.
