    After calibrating a new ph meter can I randomly test water ph directly?

      Yes, you can

    Sir, after calibration in 6.86...when a checked the same for ph... without r holding or pressing calibration... reading of meter is 5.92..
    After calibration at 4.....same buffer solutions shows ph 4.8
    And after calibration at 9.18...same buffer solution shows 7.40 reading....
    Is my pH meter ok interms of calibration...or the fluctuation of readings seems... error

      It isn't normal. Could be a faulty device as well. Try testing with an alternate device using the same solution.

    I have 7.0 ph buffer solution only. For the 2nd time recalibration, can i use 7.0 ph buffer solution??? Or the instrument only uses 6.86 to calibrate?

    • @joy_of_life

      This device uses 6.86 only for calibrations

      Calibrate the device, then take some water out of your fish tank in a cup and test.

      @@joy_of_life every time need to calibrate?

    • @joy_of_life
      @joy_of_life  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everytime, keep the calibration liquid handy. Just use it to check if you are getting the same reading from the calibration liquid. If it varies hugely then you need to recalibrate again.

      one easy trick once you make the water ready just take some portion of the water
      and keep the remaining in a glass bottle and reuse them later, otherwise you will end up spending a lot

    Hi Joy, Can i use pH Paper for getting the same result. Will it be accurate or useful like of pH meter ?

    • @joy_of_life
      @joy_of_life  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't used the pH paper. Here is something that I found.
      While both pH meters and pH paper are portable methods to measure a solution's pH, pH meters provide more accurate results and color blindness is not an issue as results are displayed on a digital readable display. However, pH paper is a much cheaper and easier way to measure pH.

    Just purchased it. Do we have to maintain 27 degree celcius? My place is cold so it's kinda hard to maintain the temp. Please let me know . Thank you

    • @joy_of_life
      @joy_of_life  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am not very sure about it but do keep it in some warm place, it might not be able to sustain so much of cold. Back in south India temperature hardly goes below 20, so I am not quiet sure about it.

      @@joy_of_life thank you for your prompt reply. Also can distilled water be replaced by mineral water?

    • @joy_of_life
      @joy_of_life  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have tried it once, result is more or less the same. I was checking in some forum people generally does that, also if you are buying the buffer powder to create the solution, do use a little and store the remaining in some container. It can be easily reused as well.

    • @jeremywahlang2698

      @@joy_of_life thank you🙏. So how much would you suggest of the buffer should I use for 250 ml solution so that I can recalibrate for future uses. As I have observed the whole package was used for the calibration. If need be then can we purchase more of the sachets? If yes can you provide the link.

      take it a small/narrow container(your device should be able to go inside) and make sure the bulb in the front is completely submerged into the liquid, don't use wider vessel as it might take more liquid, you can search in amazon with "calibrating buffer solution" ... sharing the link from amazon india website www.amazon.in/Wellon-Buffer-Solution-Measure-Calibration/dp/B07YMSGSXT
