- My newest drone - and I quite like it. Sub 250 g with a 750 mAh battery and no GoPro - which you don't need if you just use the DJI O3 Air Unit which records in 4K and stabilize in Gyroflow.
Conclusions:
- lovely drone, flies very well
- GPS performance mediocre
- jello in the video
Stabilisiert in Gyroflow.
Zusammenfassung:
- angenehme schön fliegende Drohne
- GPS eher langsam
Really nice flying and video. I love my Explorer with O3, it’s a great flyer for how light it is.
Thanks a lot. Yes, very lovable drone.
OOOHHH Fantastic testing💥, thanks very much Depp
Thanks, mate!
Vielen Dank! Freut mich, dass es dir gefallen hat. Viele Grüße zurück!
I do like a nice 4” for cruising 👍
Really enjoyed your vid mate 👍🤝😎
Thanks, glad you did.
Yes, it flies really relaxing and in later videos I didn't notice as much shakiness/jello. Have to try more with my LiIon 3000...
Ever find out why it was so shaky? Was it windy that day? Did the arm braces help? Does it always do that? Great video though, I hope to see more.
Thank you.
No, I didn't really find out because I never saw it again (after that first flight where it might've been prop wash and near that tower thing).
If you want to see for yourself:
th-cam.com/video/hFIlPWyrDAA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZC5WGktulH2-NgQF from 2.07
th-cam.com/video/59CS6HWcx58/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eNpmxzjM76HPbT6z from .49/1.13/2.15
th-cam.com/video/5ZyRqyL52Ic/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bWw2LrbtfUsjgQ4f from .37 almost the whole video.
I don't use the arm braces. Since I can't use BL Heli (I'm on a Mac) I can't see if the motors are on 96 kHz as recommended. But that strange shakiness I never had again.
#11 Great my friend - grossartiges Footage my friend - immer weiter so :)
Liebe Grüsse
Adrian
Vielen Dank, Adrian! Bis Montag ;-)
Interesting setup - So GoPro not needed just software Gyroflow ... Hmmm where did you get this from?
It's a great little drone that I'd recommend to everyone unless you want to go bando bashing.
I ordered it directly from Flywoo.
The jello is making me sell it
I can relate. Mine has gotten better without me doing anything.
Have you tried all the suggested remedies? JB did a video, Darren Allatt as well. Good luck, it would be a shame as I think it flies really well - my second favorite...
@@seb-depp which one is the number one favourite? also did you get a chance to fly the GEPRC TERN LR ? i dont know which one is better
@@manu550 My #1 favorite is the Nazgul Evoque 5D with a GoPro. Reelsteady is still the best and the Nazgul flies even better than the Explorer which would be my #2.
I haven't flown the TERN so I can't help you there. The specs say the TERN is 180 g and the Explorer 168 g so that might be a reason for the Explorer - works well with their 750 mAh
Mantap sekali dalam penerbangan pake drone fvp😍
Thanks. It's a very nice drone.
dumb question, has it essentially done away with the outer chassis? particularly incredible shot at 1.58 !
It's a completely different type of drone: In contrast to a DJI Mavic/Air/Mini it's not supposed to look good. You strap an ugly battery on the back and then you fly it with goggles (first person view/fpv). It can't really hover, doesn't have a stabilizing gimbal (if you go sideways the camera view tilts because the drone tilts). You normally fly forwards and maybe do some tricks. In contrast to a DJI Mavic/Air/Mini you have much lower latency in the control like so you can dodge obstacles much quicker and normally fly low to the ground to add the feeling of speed.
Flying is much more fun, immersive and dynamic but more difficult and not everyone likes the results/style.
In my "cinematic" videos I try to go for a mix of fpv and "normal"/gps drone.
@@chrisbee5481 Spannend. Wo kommst du her? Ich aus Göttingen.
@@seb-depp Komme aus Darmstadt. Fand deine Aufnahmen im Harz super.
@@chrisbee5481 Danke.
I just checked it out on their site. I am ignorant, but would it be usable with my DJI FPV controller and goggles? If not, what would you recommend? Thank you.
I watched the full demo, and it answered my question. Sorry about that.
There are different types. You'd want either the HD version (which has the Caddx Vista, compatible with the old big black DJI controller, but you'd need a (naked) GoPro or a insta360 go to record usable video) ("HD BNF") or better the O3 version which records good 4K video (O3 BNF). This you can use with the Goggles V2 (which came with the DJI fpv drone) and the newer grey DJI controller, but not the Motion Controller.
Another possibility is to use the Goggles (V2 or 2) and another controller (ExpressLRS) and then buy this version (O3, ELRS 2.4). The upside is more choices and better range, independent of the O3, the downside more configuration work and maybe 120 to 140 bucks more.
@@pacificnorthwestexposed4632 Ah, okay, should've read this first ;-)
@@seb-depp Sounds pretty involved. Maybe I am not there yet? Thank you for your help. Much to consider. I was just thinking of a smaller system to wreck before my DJI FPV. Lol!
@@pacificnorthwestexposed4632 Yes, it def. is more involved than getting a Mavic. But worth it.
Maybe something like a GepRC Cinebot 30 O3 BNF? You should be able to fly it with the grey controller. It's small and should be fairly durable and you'd be able to fly tight spaces.
Can I get it with ELRS? I have DJI O3 unit which I'm going to install, but I need ELRS version w/o DJI.
Yes, I got the ELRS version.
I just looked: They have a version without the O3. Hope this link works:
flywoo.net/products/explorer-lr-4-hd-dji-o3-micro-long-range-without-o3-air-unit?sku=18057623860669013719802494
@@seb-depp wow, yes, it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much!!! 👍👍👍
@@batyrenko I aim to please ;-) Have fun with it, it's a great drone.
Did you try to fly with braces? You will prob loose some of those vibrations then
No I didn't, don't have them. Might be a good idea but I guess then I'm above 250g... Haven't seen any jello for a while and am quite happy with the results.
If i fly with DJI O3. Do i need the DJI app for restriction zone and Remote ID ?
Sorry, can't tell you, as I'm not in the US but in Europe. From what I gather from the videos of others with the Goggles 2 you need the app and with the Goggles Integra you don't.
@@seb-depp I live in Denmark
@@SSG_FPV I TRIED to understand the law. The Explorer has no C Rating, so it's a legacy drone. As such (and as a sub 250 g) it should be okay without remote ID in the future.
The O3 has no remote ID support as far as I know. There would have to be a seperate module. Haven't heard of any talk for that in the EU.
