I remember seeing the refugees, seeing them point at the tail of my plane. They were in awe, and in fear. I heard one soldier say, " I heard about Three Strikes while I was fighting out east. What's he doing here?" "Good question", I remember thinking. What were we doing here? It was for our survival, but... that didn't make it any better, or easier.

The mood setting on this level is stellar. The fact that the initial lead up to the castle is extremely small batches of weak foes you can probably pick off at full speed gives you the ability to hear this song in great detail. It's tragic. Tragic on two levels. Tragic that you are forced to such desperate ends, and tragic from the defenders perspective. The dread fiend of the sky, Three Strikes, soaring toward you, and your slap dash anti air defenses. You know you don't stand a chance. But you'd rather die defending your home than roll out the red carpet for the Slayer of dozens of your country's finest.
Well-put. I always had a sense of desperation or despair coming from this mission, but couldn’t quite place it until I realized who exactly we were fighting.
Remember that... Vosilage, I believe, had at this point spent decades, perhaps a full century under Eurusia. As generations come and go, separatist sentiment likely declines as there comes a point where hardly a single man alive remembers independence. By the time of AC7 it is likely that the region was in it's final generation or so of continual separatism before it would be entirely integrated. If that is true, the independence movement we see was a "now or never" endeavor. When Sol Squadron came to help in the second to last mission, the pilots still identified themselves as part of the Vosilagian air force. Perhaps there was hope for them yet.
That one line absolutely shatters me. Living in the UK, I can almost feel jealous of Shilage. Our own Kingdom is on it's last legs. Traitors are fleeing this country like rats jumping ship. Different countries want devolution. There is no sense of pride in our country anymore. At least Shilage's young would carry on her legacy. I, meanwhile, am an outcast for being a patriot. Oh sure, Shilage may have fallen but at least she went down in a blaze of glory. Shilage's people fought for her till the end. But our 'United' Kingdom is rotting from the inside. For 1000 years we were unable to be invaded; invincible from the outside. And now I know why. Now I can see how we will eventually collapse with the way we are going. It isn't because we British people are immune to being attacked from the outside. It is because the only person who can defeat a British person is the British people themselves. We will be the end of ourselves with our disunity.

@@michaelbreckshot6589 Could be a possiblity. Since Belka did had some of his data before, they could just make a easy access to a dive machine specially design to extract Mihaly's mind to upload him to be a drone or things that teachs people to fly drones.

The war is at a point of confusion, its sad that events like such had to unfold, attacking a royal family castle holding civilians only seeking refuge. I personally avoided any targets that couldn’t shoot me out of the sky because of this song
You're attacking a country that just gained its freedom so you can steal their supplies, they can't even put up a decent defense against you. And to top it off you're bombing a castle full of civilians. I felt like a villain playing this mission. Well actually, their only defense was Sol Squadron, but they weren't a match for Trigger.
I spared the trucks too. (except for those three when they were in a line i must admit it felt good to accurately shoot in a line and destroy targets without having to move)
I dont know what it is. In every other mission i felt like i was fighting for survival, because it was kill or be killed. But in this one? Even though we literally say it was for survival, i felt like a monster shooting down those almost insignificant defenses. I just sat there with a blank face and fired away. Not gonna lie, this song feels so surreal now with everything that's happening in 2020. We seriously need to get our act together, lest we end up like the Grand Duchy of Shilage. We can't allow our nation to fall.
