      Bills full field drives starting at the 30 or lower: 1 punt = 12.5%
      onside kicks in the NFL successfully converted: 7%
      Jake Bates career onside attempts now: 0/2 = 0%
      so how exactly was that a smart decision? and if it was so smart, why didn't he start sooner? why didn't he do it the drive after? why did he literally say after the game that he wishes he didn't do it?
      the fact so many people are tripping over themselves to defend a decision like that is mind boggling

    • @mattcarberry368
      @mattcarberry368 13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@creativereality4212 except that's literally and factually wrong, because if they kicked off and made the Bills drive the whole field, then in that game alone they had a 12.5% stop rate and overall for the season the Bills punt rate is far higher than that
      so this whole "there was 0% chance of stopping Josh Allen" thing is nothing but soft wiener excuses, and if it was so hopeless to even try stopping him then why not just forfeit and save your guys from injury lol you can't coach like that, there was no logic or analytics or game strategy behind it, was nothing but a random fear based decision

    I love Dan Campbell. I'll take the 4th downs and the Onsides and the fake punts. Without that, they probably are a ho hum play it safe 9-5 or 10-4 team battling with GB to catch up to Minnesota. He is who he is. And I'm for it. It will work. Maybe not everytime, but he owns it, and they move on.

    Almost everyone in the media is defending Dan Campbell for his reckless decision. Entering week 15 onside kick success rate was 7% or 3 of 41. I understand he likes to play aggressive and gamble, but this is not a going for it on fourth down which has a much higher success rate, this is reckless. There’s 12 mins left in the game. seen so many people say the Bills couldn't be stopped no matter what so why not onside kick.... well why not just forfeit then if it was so hopeless lol and if that's the case then why didn't he start onside kicking sooner? why didn't he do it the drive after? onside kicks fail at a 93% rate (7% success) and in the Bills 8 full field drives (starting at the 30 or lower) they punted once (12.5%), therefore even in the context of that game alone it was still almost literally TWICE THE ODDS TO PLAY FOR A STOP!
    and Campbell's explanation after just being "ah man, i just thought we'd get it man" proves there's no logic or game plan strategy behind it, was nothing more than a random decision made based on nothing but fear and a lack of trust in his own team.... that's not being "aggressive", that's just bad coaching

      I honestly don’t think the lions are that good. I mean if you have to be the only team in the NFl that has to go for it in so many fourth downs, I believe since 2021 they posted the lions have gone for it 140 times and had something like 15 fake punts, are you really that good? Why can’t you beat a team straight up, no fourth downs, no fake punts, no early onside kick, straight up smash mouth football. The team is pathetic to be honest.

    Can we stop calling stupid decisions "gutsy". Campbell makes dumb decisions every game and it is impactful against playoff caliber teams that aren't teams like the Jags or Titans. He let GB back in the game last week going for it on 4th on their own 20, he coached them out of the SB in the 49ers game, and this decision was stupid and indefensible.
