this game is INSANE. i love art that engages with its medium and theres clearly been thought put into how this one does (for instance, starting you off moving left so that when you have to run away you end up going right). i understand why making a reflective thumbnail took several tries!!
They were more focused around the first person nature of the attacks. Having the chainsaw in view. Then I was trying to show off the weird Minecraft lava bucket. They just were not very effective haha
*Game shows the mana pool* Olexa: Ah so this is my mana. "Drag a card to the mana pool" Olexa: I don't get it Sometimes it hurts seeing this but also amusing XD
i mean doesn't help that NOTHING on the ui looks like a "mana pool" but yeah. he did try to drag it onto the only thing that was blue so can't blame him lol
dawg whatever happens in life dont stop making these videos. Ive found so many cool roguelikes because of you and the vibe of these videos is immaculate. Keep up the good work man :)
I look forward to every nextfest specifically because I can always rely on finding the next funky unique game to sink dozens of hours into, and having only watched the tutorial part, I think I can safely say this might be the one this time
This is like one of those ads where the person playing keeps making obvious mistakes to try and make the person watching so frustrated they buy the game to play it themselves.
Whoa, this game is awesome! And real nice touch with "fog" on the map that actually allows you to legit plan and, maybe, visit more places if you plan right.
By the way Olexa you played the GMTK version of this game in 2022, the game was called "Dice is the way" and the video is "this 5 minute deckbuilder broke me..."
Yup, you can check in the itchio version it links to the full version of the game which is going to be this one So the concept for this game has been developing since then
I really didn't know what to expect with this one... but hot damn that's an insanely cool concept for a game. I really wanted to know what happened if you changed a card though. Guess I'll have to play it myself. :D
At 10:34 "I don't even know what this number is" ... You can do incredible thing with those "The One Dice"-cards. So reducing your GOLD (a sparse resource, hehehe) from 3 to 1 was one of those "Pro-Olexa-Moves" we all love and like:) Otherwise this would be called "shooting yourself in the foot", but here it is essential game-play. Thank you for the astounding(!) and entertaining video!:)
Amazing how you completely forget how to play 3 seconds in and just keep adding "energy" when you could have just re-rolled that 1 for the dice changer and used it to set hp of enemies to like 1-6. On top of that, the last boss you had that "Add number" card and rolled a 4, which you could have used on the dice changer "1", which would have given you enough uses to set all the bosses hp bars to 1-6 and you would have won.
I love this game, I cant belive you passed off one of my favorite cards Battle of Wits, because A you get to throw books at the enemy which will never be not funny and also with the sage class discarding cards for the kick effect means nothing, it also works well with a card called plan B Also the discover cards are really cool I think that using dice for mana might not be the best idea since it gives random colours and I think it would be better to save dice charges for bosses, cant wait for the game to release
The best resource for indie games is Twitter. Devs love retweeting devs so you can follow a ton of devs and find a ton of games haha. But I also get emails from devs for keys for their games so that’s a big component of it
pretty wacky game, incredible idea and even better execution it has all of the joys of a regular card game while having that chaotic twist to it 2024 is going hard on the card games
There are just too many good games I'm having an existential crisis, like if I was a really hungry frenchman at a table of so many appetizers that I couldn't possibly try them all, what am I supposed to eat, and is it better to take only one bite of each or devour all the garlic mac and cheese because it is the best --- idk im hungry
I feel like this game just need the right twitch streamer to be raided by the right twitch streamer at the perfect time for the right youtuber to see how it goes to have a reputation equal to STS
constantly using your die to change your mana from 2 to 5 instead of changing the enemies health from like 50 down to a d6 is tough to watch but how can i complain when you gave an explicit warning at the beginning of the video
I got screwed with the cards I got all shitty ones, then I didn't get the upgrades. Then I pressed "do nothing" to cancel rolling the purple dice and it got destroyed (I don't know yet how to cancel the use of the dice). Then I try to roll more dices so I put my dice in the number of dices, I got a 7 and it just put a 0 in it for some reason. And I thought "keep in hand after reloading" means that it stays in your hand, but no, it doesn't. And then I put other dice in the mana and got lots of random mana that couldn't use because I didn't have a single card with those mana. So I ended up losing to an elite and dying
As an interface designer ~4:00 frustrated the shit outa me. No matter how idiot proof you make the interface the universe keeps on upgrading the idiots.
thumbnail shows editing a card from 1 damage to 100 damage, something that you just factually can't do. but I guess you can't clickbait on 4 damage to 6 damage.
Oh yeah the thumbnail is definitely “clickbait” but it’s extremely difficult to convey the wacky mechanic of the game in a thumbnail. I actually spent almost two hours making thumbnails for this game because none of them were showing off how the game plays efficiently
@@scottcole8732 Please do, it was a guess, but I'd wager I'm roughly correct when you add the replies in this thread, but alright if you think you're cooking go ahead. If you think my comment is a complaint... even Olexa realizes it is clickbait, you have to stop blindly white knighting. I literally mentioned understanding that it would be hard to clickbait if you shared the game truthfully. Calm down "lil bro" you missed here.
ooof, skip to 3 mins cos anything before is usually just ramble. "This costs mana, this is how to get mana" "don't have enough mana?, where do i get mana?"...
I've come to the conclusion that I'm used to watching a different style of content. I would typically "follow" rather than do a tutorial and wrongfully expect others to play similarly. Launching into full-on missplays to mess with the game can be good fun also. Any playstyle is valid, but not all are to my particular interest. I wonder if you could share your market research on your target demographic: Dementia Patients?
“I did it all kinda right” - Tyler after doing everything wrong, brilliant
You're right... I was screaming at my monitor for you to dice the HP instead of mana. lol

@@codesymphony The thing with tokens and a counter, not really an abnormal mana ui for a card game like this.
This started so nice and simple and then everything (literally) changed when the dice nation attacked?!?
There are so many mechanics!
Oh god that first bossfight with the dice to change cards was to painful to watch. I love you Olexa please don't change 😂
“You’re gonna just keep getting stronger, and that’s why I have a crossbow” Dumbledor said calmly

You NEED to make more vids on this game, its actually insane. Plus drawn animations for every attack is pretty cool.
Olexa saying "brother" gets me every time.
I will now be hearing malady (mal-ah-dee, as in ‘a bad effect’ or ‘a sickness’) as m’lady, said in Olexa’s voice, in my head when I see the word😂
@4:19 sir please you read the directions out loud what happened??

you worded my feelings perfectly. I just can't watch this, this is an insult to basic intelligence.
I love that the discover keyword from hearthstone is being used in other games! It’s such a good one
Ooh that first “boss” fight made me laugh so much. Thank you for owning it 😂
this is sick, we need more
I enjoyed this demo so much. Such an unique game and took a couple runs to really wrap my brain around the interactions. A++ in my opinion.
the art style in this is the most creative i've seen in a long time
