I did the same thing with these as you did.....3m tape instead of the screws because there's no clearance to get through that screen. It lasted about 150 miles and the flexing of the bumper was enough to slowly break down the tape. Plus...you can see that tape from the sides and it looks like hell on a 100k car. So I pulled them off completely and I'm going to get one of the full assembly versions where they are all mounted together in one solid part. I'm curious if your tape held up.....cuz it really doesn't seem like it will long term
That was the only thing I was looking at .saying that 😡🤬😡poor paint job.I lost it for a minute. lol but looks are deceiving right .damn you lol u got me good .😂🙌😎🙌
No those were virtually impossible, unless you remove the bumper. I was not about to do that again for the fins. Screws on bottom and 3m on that edge work just fine.
What is the thread size for the bolts? I'm trying to see if using stud bolts and a nut might help. I bought these same diffuser fins but having trouble with the install given I have the stock exhaust. Might go the 3M tape route, I have the 30Lbs force one. Did you only tape along the bottom?
I did the homework for anyone else who might need it - M4 x 0.7 screws will do. I bought bolts today and am turning them into stud bolts if that's what you call them. Going to use nuts to secure them
How is the clearance when you park backwards? Im thinking to install the fins on my car but I always try to fit my car the most back in the parking space to protect the front of my car from other cars not hitting mine when they are trying to park.
Good question. I lowered mine .75” as parking blocks and side walks can scrape the bottom plastic panel without no fins. With fins it absolutely will hit. I back up right to the block, not over it. The vette is not a very long car, so I never stick out risking the front end getting hit. I do the same if I have to front end in with my splitter. I stop just before the block. (99% I back in )
Haha. Glad you said the comment about the PPF. Just prior, I was like….”what the hell is he doing? That cardboard will scratch the paint “.
Lol. Yep. I am smarter than I look.
I’m new to the C8 world, picking mine up, mid April, doing the National Corvette Museum delivery. Just got word yesterday that mine was completed.
@@btheath294 that’s awesome. I’m sure you’re going to love it.
Nice, I got EOS Z06 low spoiler for my Stingray.

My tape held up, but I wanted something easier.

Ha yeah. I wouldn't put anything on unprotected paint
I like the license plate, where'd you get it from? Also in FL
Non permanent wrap
Joe what screw did you use to attach the top of the diffuser fins ?
was it the Phillip head screw that came with the fins?

I used black self tapping for the bottom, and 3m along the fins at contact points with the car. I’ll look up threads if I can find it.

They look kind of crooked. Not completely straight
They are as straight as I can get them (very)
