- I didn't think it could make this much of a difference, but this rear diffuser fin set from Ebay is awesome.
For the ease of servicing the car, and having the fins perfectly straight, and firmly attached, I decided to upgrade to this unit. It is black ABS not carbon flash metallic, but it looks perfect.

Look on ebay for rear diffuser C8

Looks good. Maybe a piece of heat shield would help also for piece of mind.
I was thinking the same thing and may make one.
I like the new diffuser, now I have to get that one. 😂
Yeah buddy.
Few months into owning this piece, it seems to have melted at a few points where the steel bolts hold the rear grille. Thinking I might buy it again and add some heat shield tape. Seen anything like this?
Preemptively I shaved areas that were close with dremel leaving at least 1/4” clearance. No problem. I’ll check again for ya later.
@@JoesGarage-c8corvette Alright, so here's what happened to my unit - it seems that the lower part of the grille is held on by 7 bolts. 5 of these bolts apparently get hot enough due to their proximity to the exhaust (I have the stock exhaust).
Seems the heat transferred through the stock piece into my diffuser fins and left a melting pattern where each bolt is at, on the part that rests over top. I bought some adhesive heat shield (basalt fiber) that will hopefully remedy the situation.
@@mr.dodosoft6952 wow, that’s surprising. I have the awe and it has a heat guard that dissipates the heat to avoid such heat and melting. In the past my stock exhaust rippled my PPF a tiny bit. They get hot!!!
@@JoesGarage-c8corvette now I have a good excuse to install an aftermarket exhaust 😂 I'll see how this works out! Thanks again for the reply
@@mr.dodosoft6952 exactly. It’s a “necessary” mod to protect the bumper and diffuser. If you have a wife, she cannot argue that. Lol
Hi, why did you change from the fins? They looked good. I just bought them and am waiting for the weekend to put them on. Any advice?
I liked them a lot. They were firmly attached at bottom. But would need to remove bumper with stock exhaust to get the grill screws mounted. If I need to take off the bumper in future, I want it to be simpler. I do like both, it was a matter of ease for me.
I put all four on the outside then put the screws in
As long as it works. I marked mine that way, but drilled and screwed it with the inner ones, inside the panel.
