    My grandpa and grandma had a camper parked year around at Taylor Creek campground in the early 70's and they would bring me and my brothers out for a weekend or a week. They had a 18' Starcraft with a 25hp outboard then we head out of the locks and fish for 4-6 hours and bring back specks, bluegills and a few bass for a big fish fry with hush puppies. Everyone in our area would eat and talk till I had to go to bed (8 yrs. old) but I'll never forget those times!

    My grandfather's friend ran the locks between
    Lake Tohopekaliga and Lake Okeechobee. That was some of the best fishing I had ever experienced, when the spillway was open we could catch bluegill on bare hooks, John the guy that ran the locks would pay us kids 25cents a gar head. Those were some of my fondest memories back in the early 90s, I miss those days

    We have an abundance of cichlids in a big pond behind my office. I tried throwing tons of baits at them, but they would just set there and look at it. My daughter had a bag of donut holes, so I started putting a marble sized ball on a little hook. As fast as you could rebait, we loaded up. They are a very good tasting fish, hands down. And it seams there's no end to the amount in this small lake/pond. Try bread or anything, and they attack.

    Gabe great video brother. Always a good day when you can fill a bucket with fish. Even better when you can fry them up with friends and have a good old fashioned fish fry with them with friends. I told Rob that the videos you Rob and Kelly have been putting out have been a great help to me. After being in the hospital for almost a month and now that I'm home after having triple bypass surgery. I look forward to the videos all 3 of you put out. It keeps me going through the pain after the surgery. And I'm on a long road of recovery after the doctors having to crack open my chest to do the surgery. I'm not able to do much right now with fishing and hunting. So it gives me something to look forward to once I'm able to get back to it again. But Gabe I've been a member of the channel since you first started the channel Kelly's also. Been a member of Robs also since almost the very beginning of his channel also. Keep them great videos coming brother. And God bless you Kelly and your boys. Stay safe, safe travels and keep them great videos coming brother.

LOL! ......My Granny Used To Always Remind Me When I Asked Her, "Why Is This Meat So Tough?" She'd Reply, "It Would Be A Lot Tougher If Ya Didn't Have It!"......That Statement Has ALWAYS Remained In My Mind & Taught Me To Become Very Frugal & Thankful When It Comes To Food, Especially Meat, Regardless Of What Kind....You & Yours Practice That Same Policy I See! There's so many fish around the world that are classed as pest fish. If they are cooked right, a lot of them could be sold in restaurants. We have tilapia here in Australia. If you catch one, you have to kill it and bury it away from the water or in a garbage bin. You are not allowed to fillet it and eat it.

    I live in ny and there was an invasive species called gobey, they’re a small fish that only get to about 5-6 inches but they mainly feed on fish eggs and baby fish, but now that the larger fish have started eating them, those fish are getting much larger much faster because gobey’s have turned into a very abundant source of food, just last weekend the state record smallmouth bass was broken, 8.5 lbs.

    • @NightwingGR1
      @NightwingGR1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same in Michigan with the gobeys. Our record smallie fell a couple of years ago, 10 lbs! Likely fed up on gobies as they are very common in the river it was caught in. 7-8 lb fish are coming out of our lakes here now every year.

      I hate trying to fish in the st Lawrence because of the gobey's go out trying to catch perch and all you get are gobey ... They are annoying but I'm glad our bigger native fish are preying on them.

      The perch in Lake Erie have been eating gobeys, the st Lawrence has a lot more cover for the gobeys which might be why, Lake Erie is a very flat bottom with almost zero cover once you get out to where the perch are in 50-70’ of water.

      It's a great channel. Bluegabe will eat what he catches or hunts. Unlike a lot of the channels. And he shows us how to do it.

      Eeewww, you didnt rinse them off,, before you took them to be cooked, well, you didnt show it if you did🤮-- I dont eat ANYKIND of fish ANYMORE-- Not even Tuna from the store!!--- to much CONTAMIATION IN ALL THE OCEANS!!!🌊🌊,, then when I watched a program about Cruise Ships & Other vessels & how the human waste & and crap is DUMPED IN OUR OCEANS-- IT GROSSED ME OUT & I dont even by meat anymore , or eggs & bacon, that I used to like Alot-- but so much food contamination & recalls in recent yrs have REALLY turned me OFF!!! An aunt of mine in Washingto State came home from COSTCO with some expensive SALMON-- when she opened it up to cook it for dinner that night --- it had live worm PARASITES!!😱😬-- SHE took it back & the guy told her""" OH, IT HAPPES Sometims!!!- WTH--- so GROSS----- that was about 5 or 6 yrs ago😬

    I like the concept about the species that migrated into the fisheries, "They here, they not going anywhere, just start harvesting em, they are good eating". Good stuff 🎣.

    From walking knee deep in Texas mud catching monster gars, Florida Iguanas and now worm fishing on Ochachobee. Gabe is a Savage and is as Game as any Rooster 🐓 I have ever seen. Happy Father's Day 👊

      You said it. And then there's the single breath deep diving where he's down there and just lingering and spearing a fish. Lingering. That IS savage. And game. Then there's noodling.

    If you skin the bream you will not taste the muddy taste. We skin Redbreast and all the bream we catch in the Ogeechee river and Cannochee river.
    Catfish skinners and a sharp knife ,
    The breaded sticks better to the fish also.
