Guy on the horse is Raoh otherwise known as Ken-Oh (King of Fists) and he is Kenshiro's adopted brother and at that point the strongest man of Hokuto. Next to him is Toki. He was in line to be the successor but due to an illness he got from radiation poisoning he had to step down. It is said that Toki had the most refined technique in the entire 1800 year history of Hokuto Shinken. He also managed to turn his skills to an art of healing. Also when you said "I thought he about to do a kamehameha for a minute" i smirked cause Raoh can kind of do that. He has a move he himself developed that is called Tenshou Honretsu (Heavenly Conqueror's advance) in wish he bassicly launches a giant ki blast. One of my favorite things about FoTNS is the bad ass signature move names. Also Souther is not shin. This happens later on in the anime. So there are 6 generals of Nanto who are bassicly the most powerful people within the Nanto faction. They are: The star of Martyrdom Shin, successor of Nanto Koshuken The star of Benevolence Shuu, successor of Nanto Hakuroken The star of Dominance Souther, successor of Nanto Ho-oh ken The star of Enchantment (Also known as the star of betrayal) Juda, successor of Nanto Kokakuken The star of Justice Rei, successor of Nanto Suichoken The star of the Compasionate Mother Yuria, has no fighting style but is instead meant to unify with Hokuto in times of chaos Souther is essentially trying to take the entire nanto faction for himself and use it to conquer the land in his name, thereby throwing it into chaos. He hates compassion and love since he sees it as useless. His master Ohgai who Souther loved dearly was killed in a duel to determine if Souther was ready to become successor since his style can ever only have one successor. Souther did not know that he had to kill/ and ended up killing his master since he was blindfolded. This is why Kenshiro used the Hokuto Ujo Moshoha technique which kills the opponent without feeling pain. He want's to reawaken the compassion within Souther by killing him with a compasionate killing technique. In the original material of Hokuto no Ken Souther does not kill himself but accepts his fate and accepts love back into his heart. he ends up crawling towards his master's body, who was interred in the pyramid itself (The pyramid was meant as a final token of gratitude towards his master) and he dies resting against his master's body. The pyramid then collapses because of Shu's sorrow as his spirit cries for Souther's tragic fate. Which is why I like Souther's story more in the original manga. This is also why i love HNK so much. It really manages to pull at your heartstrings. I mean Souther was a disgusting villain that murdered women and children as he pleased and used child slaves to build his pyramid but at his death you can't help but feel a little sorry for him. Not that he is dying, but that he couldn't have met Kenshiro sooner, it may have lead him to a different path. The only Villain in this entire anime/manga that i didn't feel bad for was Jagi, fuck him.
This is later on in the anime. Around episode 60. You vould definitely watch these ovas the animations are great and it does not have filler. It also isn't Shin. It is holly emperor souther

I think the movie is a adaptation of the book or books. The martial arts and the pressure point means they can kill or cure with various techniques throught physical practice and mental control. There are still animations that are only in Japan. I will find you a favourite battle.
