Hey Rob....great job on the video! Your drone footage was great! Thank you for the day...lots of fun! Loved your reaction on the rock you cut for me.... priceless!😅
I had a really fun time with you that day, Dan. That trail was really fun and that last beach was an unexpected treat. Bummer about that rock that I cut, but I left it in because I think people should see that they aren't all awesome on the inside.
Because of your videos, I went to Lake Superior on 11-7. I did not know there was a rock beach just west of Little Girls Point park. There was a lot of leaves in the way but I took home some rock. Your sky cam shots are the best. You do such good work on your videos. I wish my health was better but I enjoy watching you.

@@MichiganRocks Yes but the park is like 50' above the shore. This place has a parking lot right on the shore and at the west end I was able to walk down the small hill.
Sure was. When we left there, we drove more sketchy trails in the dark. There was never any really problem, just a slow drive through the woods. Fun road in a Jeep.
@MichiganRocks aaah, no worries. I think it's a wonderful parable how creation is beautiful in so many ways, and how there is something beautiful for everyone!
What's weird is that you don't really see any of that water up on the beach because the rocks pile up fairly high between the lake and the river. You can see it if you walk up on the beach a bit, but I usually stay in the water or very close to it.
@ I don’t normally tumble them either, I do polish the windows. But I just mined 30 lt of agates up to tennis ball size at Lune river Tasmania, so I’ve got agates overload, tumbling some of the smaller ones to see how they go, it will take a while though…
I get a moss agate similar to that in East Texas only it will usually have a brilliant orange line followed by a white center. they are really pretty but sort of rare. Beautiful finds!

Great video! The last one you called a jelly agate reminds me of those white nougat candy with the jelly pieces😂 Seriously though the orange color on there was my favorite! Great finds today!
3:41 Ive found stuff that looks like this all the way over here on the coast of California! I believe the stuff i find is quartz with black tourmaline crystals in it, which this may or may not be. Id love to rockhound lake superior some day for those beautiful agates but I'd say we have some pretty beautiful beach rocks here too.

That reindeer stick will serve nicely as a holiday ornament! Just put a glowing red rock on his nose! Nice to meet Dan!
I'm using the same GoPro that I have had for a couple years, but I did get an iPhone 16 Pro that I'm using for the smaller rocks. I bought it specifically for the camera.
It was actually a really nice day. It started out a little cool, but the sun was out most of the time and felt nice. I like the cool weather this time of the year. It's the next several months that I'm not crazy about.
I recently started tumbling and was referred to your channel from the subreddit. I'm originally from Soo Ontario but live in the UK now and find your channel very comforting, especially the rock hunts. Next time i go home I will have to go on the hunt!
I enjoy ur videos. I like the fact that u explain what u find. I was in Roger's City, Michigan some years ago. Not many rocks on the beach but I did find a worm down tomahawk head. Really beautiful there. I hope to get back one day
I'm not a rockhound, but your content has inspired me to be more mindful while on hikes to look down and appreciate the rocks a bit more. I'm curious tho...while they're really neat, offer some fun color variation, what's the big deal, what's the massive appeal to Agates? (Sry for the dumb question)
When you find a great Agate....you'll know! Our Lake Superior agates are some of the most beautiful world wide! I've dug diamonds, ruby, sapphire and emerald...but agates have so much variance, color, banding patterns...none look the same...they are so different! To me that's the appeal! Hunting them with friends make them all the more special!
@MichiganRocks agree, would love to see some set in a piece, cabbed up, on a necklace. I did appreciate his comments as well. I'll pay more attention on the trails here in Colorado, get down in the dirt and see what I can find :)
I recommend dish-washing rubber gloves for rockhounding in water. The gloves are long coming up mid way to the elbow and made of thick rubber, usually bright yellow or orange.
I wear neoprene decoy gloves. They come up a long way too and are thick neoprene. They leak after a year or so, but even then they keep your hands warm, like a wet suit would.
Friends and family were discussing Michigan election results and I recalled them from memory. After puzzled looks I stated, _I have a friend in Michigan._ 🤫

Those things at 03:35?? I have been wanting to know what they are forever!! I pick them up whenever I can. I call them "green eggs" because that's what they look like beneath the water edge -- they really pop. I like any green rock basically.
That rock might look green on your monitor, but it wasn't green at all on the beach. It was mostly a translucent white with black specks and tannish bands. The black specks might be tourmaline, but that's just a guess. The rest or the rock looked like it might be quartz or quartzite. This is all guesswork on my part, though.
@MichiganRocks Okay. The ones I find are green and I think they are quartz or quartzite, leaning toward quartz just because they tend to have fractures and bruise easily which makes me think the crystals are probably not tiny. I still love 'em though. Could send you a photo if you want to see what I'm talking about as I would love to have a real ID.
