at 3:16 Thank you for showing how to separate the passenger/right side CV Axle from the Intermediate Shaft. Your video is the first one I have seen that shows how to do this. All of the other videos only show the other/driver/left side. Thank you for showing the hard side instead of the easy side. There is no way to pry on anything to get it to pop apart. I left the Intermediate shaft installed and separated them from under the car by using a sledge hammer and a foot long brass drift-punch ( to clear the exhaust pipe). Mine is a 1990 Mazda 626. For installation I had to remove the MacPherson strut (4 bolts BUT 6 nuts! Two nuts were hidden under the windshield washer water tube bracket. ) so that I could align the new CV Axle and make room to tap it in with a hammer, tapping on the outer tip. Note: reinstall the MacPherson strut before assembling the CV Axle to the wheel bearing. Interestingly frustratingly enough was that my old CV Axles had a 31mm nut but the new ones had a 32mm nut.
if they have the same amt of gear teeth try to put some grease on the axle teeth then insert it straight or even if still wont go in.. rotate the axle very slow then push it in hard it takes a couple of try
@@asianmechanicguy6483 is there anything that you removed thats in the way of that like exhaust or something? And what grease is safe to use because i have a 5 speed manual so should i just use the gear oil?
any grease will do ..anyway its only for lubrication and grease wont drip ..try to put ur car on neutral too then try to feel the gear teeth on the transmission by ur hand check if theres something in there or anything not block the axle teeth gear on going in ... Be patience i guess.. and just keep on trying

Hey man when i did it (same exact car) i cant get the intermediate shaft back into the transmission... It wont fully go in... Got any tips?
count the gear of ur new axle sometimes they look the same with ur original one but the one of them has more than one gear teeth
