You should try one barrel shooting regular ammo and one barrel shooting subsonic, then try the gong at the end of the range, it would be a cool way of testing the difference in speed.

The shockwave from the two rounds interacting with each other must cause the 'wandering' or displacement of the slugs
Possibly, since 45acp is subsonic the shock waves should interact, though I believe it's more likely due to a slight difference in ignition timing. Recoil has begun to affect the weapon before ignition of the second cartridge, throwing off it's point of impact. Hickok could all but verify this by keeping track of point of aim vs. Point of impact. One should generally be true to point of aim while the other "flies" if I'm correct. Regardless, this looks like a fun gun to have, but a complete waste of half your ammunition.
I think its because there are two triggers so one fires a fraction of a second before the other one causing movement. how bout dem apples?

Robert Day pretty sure it wouldn't cycle, it has 2 recoil springs and technically double the lugs, I don't know if a single 45 has the power to unlock and cycle against that.

I believe if a firearm shoots more than two rounds on one trigger pull it is considered automatic and would therefore require additional licenses and a tax stamp.

Richard Bottom Pulling either trigger shoots both barrels because the triggers are linked, just like the hammer. That, plus the fact that it's 2 separate barrels, saves this from needing a stamp (based on my understanding).

I just took my restricted course here in Canada, and I would LOVE one of these. Go through a lot of ammo I'm sure but damn would that be fun. Crap thing around here is that a restricted fire arm in Canada can never be used for self defense. twizzm Hang fire. I'm talking about a momentary delay between the primer being struck and the round actually going off. I was very careful to not say fail to fire or dud.
Glen Phenix I see what you're saying . I'm no expert but it seems like that would mean that the round could fire while out of battery , I guess you would have to test to see if the slide would budge with only one of the rounds going off . Even if it would blow back a couple hundred thou or so I could see there being a catastrophic failure .
That's a great question. Hopefully the designers considered that, and made the recoil spring, and/or the slide itself, so heavy that one round firing isn't enough to knock it out of battery. Because if the timing was right (or wrong I guess) in that scenario you thought of, it could suck. Makes me think, what would the literal worst case malfunction scanario be for this gun? I think it would be dual squibs that cycled the slide on a full mag, chambered 2 more rounds, and 1 of those fires and 1 is a hang fire. Right?
i think these require both to go off to reliably cycle, so it would probably be a short stoke.

Saw someone else's video about 4 months ago (don't remember who n didn't bookmark it) and it did not cyycle the slide with only one barrel/chamber fireing. Reasonably so because you have two recoil springs to defeat.

And everybody knows that the 1911 .45acp can have serious jamming problems, but I guess the with twice the gun, I guess most times "at least" one barrel would fire. Also, what's the total weight with 2 loaded mags with one in each chamber?

Michael Kamits you'll get several variants on answers to such a question. If you are looking at buying a used firearm, there's a few things to look into. First, look at wear patterns. Check the friction points of the firearm. Is the wear excessive? Had the gun been leaned and taken care? Is there a round count available (usually not)?
Usually a good idea to replace springs on a used gun as well.
Like I said, the answer will vary widely.

This thing sounds like it could be a disaster in a hang fire situation since the firing barrel could (partially) eject a hang fire round.
1970351C2V a single shot doesn't have enough power to overcome the dual recoil springs it needs both rounds to go off
At the start of this video, I was thinking the rounds will effect each other. No matter if they are both rotating CW or one is CW and the CCW. They are close enough, that one would get pushed away or make one climb. Hence, why some shots are vertical to each other.
