Absolutely an awesome daily, do preventative maintence, valve adjustments , oil changes and it will treat you so well
Raptor liner and make it last forever. Nice Ride.
Holy shlt I had no idea they were interference engines... ugghhhhhh We've got a 98 Nissan Frontier. How the H377 do you know when to change the timing belt? My dad's been dead for years and it was his truck.
I have a Ford Escort as permanent yard art because it had an interference engine and made lots of crunchy popcorn bits in it one day while driving home. I put a new head and valves on it, only to find, one of the piston rods had broke and only 3 cylinders were firing. Great. Just great.
Rule of thumb is old belts 60k. New belt is good for 100k
I must have missed it but how many miles does this have?
155k. Unfortunately it would have had much less if it wasn't a commuter for me for 5 years
@SirDrifto Thanks. I have a 1999.5 Pathfinder 4WD with the VG33. It only has 135K miles and I love it.
wheres the diff locker?
You may have mentioned it, but how many miles do you have on it?
about 155k now.
@@SirDrifto Only 155k for an 87 model That's bloody good if you ask me.. I own the 2000 Nissan Navara D22 DX ute KA24DE 2389cc with over 235K and keeping up with the general maintenance, The motor hasn't missed a beat, I also have an old painter mate who has a 99 model with over 900k and the only part he has had change on the motor was the alternator.. And yeah you are right about the rust and the weather, Buy yourself a can of Heavy Duty fish oil and spray everything down it works wonders.. Love your car by the way..👍
To be honest, the engine is the weak part of that amazing truck
Low horsepower but reliable
Isn’t d21 a 4 cylinder??
Two versions, 2.4 and 3.0 v6
@@SirDrifto ... and TD27/T.
Sell it to me😢
Your dad would never sit in the back of this truck
But your mom would.
timing chain*
Timing belt. This is an interference motor with a belt. Mandatory belt changes every 95-100k
