    Hey, cameras and editing team: the beauty of Utah is easily a third of the reason we watch your vids. Don’t be afraid to point a camera at the landscape for an extra half-second once in a while. Maybe even a whole second, for a 360 mountaintop sunset. Those are beautiful moments. Let us share.

    Years ago I use to watch a show on discovery ch that was a family run business. Nothing but yelling and fighting, however this show is the best show I've ever seen. I love the smiles and fun you have on your recoveries. I watch this show every new episode. I love the fact Matt cares so much about his customers, his family, and his employees. It's a far cry from the crap others produced back in the days of biker shows. I love this company and all its members. Rock on you guys, your the best.

    As a propane delivery driver, I visit these kind of locations occasionally, especially after storms and power outages, that's when they actually use propane up at the tower for generators. I have one location, the trail to the top is 2.8 miles, I can't drive my bobtail faster than 1 MPH, or everything in my cab will be all over the place, it's covered with rocks and cliffs for the road surface. So almost 3 hours just for that trail uphill. So, imagine having to go up and see a 33k GVWR propane truck on those trails, with 3400 gallon tank on the back.

  • @SNerd42
    @SNerd42 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

    Back in the early 2000's I used to build these cell sites and have probably been to 95% of them in Utah. These roads are no joke and the camera's don't do them justice. I have been helicoptered in/out of sites, emergency snow catted in/out at Bryce Canyon, and almost slid off the side of a mountain numerous times. I have a ton of respect for the people that drive the big rigs up with the shelters and antenna equipment. It's a good thing I was young and dumb because they would send me up in any old truck with the crappiest tires. Got tons of great pictures though.

Of course I liked to climb up the towers while he wasn't looking. Regarding the seat belt thing, my dad also spent so much time going up mountains back in old trucks (with old bad brakes), he used to take his seat belt off coming down them so he could jump out if he lost his brakes! He'd always drive slow enough that if he felt the pedal go to the floor he'd have enough time to get out.

    Just fyi, when you told Kaitlin not to put it in gear @14:37 while rolling downhill -- big mistake. IF the engine quits, brakes will be ineffective, it'll be in neutral and it will roll uncontrolled downhill. Heavy truck with no power brakes not good. You want it in first gear, press the clutch for neutral. If the engine quits, pop the clutch to keep the wheels from turning. 4wd would be best . That way all four wheels are engaged in stopping it with a dead engine but 2wd is the next best option. She's too young to roll off Crumpet mountain.

    11:07 something could be MacGyver if you wanted to, there’s a solution to every problem, collect a selection of seatbelt buckles from the junk yard (the big brands/common types) at least , modify a junk belt to have fixings on the ends that either clamp to the recovery vehicles existing belt or fixings at the top and the seat base at the bottom, cam locks/carabiners or mini soft shackles, add a tensioner so it’ll suit most people and vehicles.
    Kudos to Kaytlynn I’m sure is not easy holding yourself up at that angle for that long feathering the pedals.

To correct male ends might work… there are 5 manufactures. No clue how many designs. I looked at a car. It had sat in closed but not vented shed MN +5 years. Some mold, rust. They replaced drivers seat/shoulder belt from bone yard. *I assume same brand wreck*. I test drove it, twisted. Buckle unlatched. Not 30 lbs force it jumped out. Maybe rust, grit? But female end was in car, male end bone yard. No thanks,
