In today's world we are taught that the goal in life is to gain as much wealth and power as possible before you die. When money is more important than Morals, this is what happens... Consequently Money is the part that's keeping it going. Morals don't pay the bills and isn't on the list as Global currency. Money bought the Internet you use and the phone/computer you type this message on. Money feeds the starving but isn't edible. Morals are free but not without a cost. Morals are Great but not as important for survival as money and Morals can't be bought. Therefore money is still a step ahead of morals in order to live your life. Rich people do just fine with or without them.
We could provide all the minimums to everyone and let them spend their money on improvements to their lives rather then just to stop it from breaking down. We produce more food than hungry, more empty buildings than homeless and resources so vast we can easily create islands from the waste alone. But giving survival away for free is forbidden, for the richest people in the world make their money on selling survival. And if everyone has enough to live, they can no longer be coaxed to die for life.
Our world is a contradiction where the poor must die to survive, and the rich call it a noble act while they themselves engage in no such "noble" labor. We live in a world where working an honest job is praised but not valued, where we look with respect on the trashman humbly doing the task none of us wants to but pay them like such work is nearly valueless. The tasks of oligarchs, however, are both sneered at and rewarded handsomely at the same time. We call the rich successful and of good character because we want to believe they wouldn't get so rewarded if they were wicked, that meritocracy is still possible; yet we would sentence guilty any poor person who'd commit the sins they do. We need to start imagining better worlds for the sake of our planet, survival must not be comodified. We should not be forced to pick between being moral and being alive.
NATO was created for collective defense. Russia has proven itself a threat since 1547, 477 years. And there was NEVER an agreement for NATO to not expand eastward. But there was the 1994 Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances in which Russia agreed to threaten or use military force or economic coercion against Ukraine.

There was a spoken understanding with the USSR(NOT RUSSIA) that NATO wouldn't expand further east than Germany, but since the USSR collapsed that "spoken" understanding died with it. Yes Russia decided it was the successor state to the USSR and in most international treaties it is, but it isn't legally speaking a fac that Russia is the successor, so the spoken agreement was null and void.

I am retired so I spend hours everyday studing all aspects of the war. I am ASHAMED OF COWARDLY US CITIZENS who forget what all free peoples soilders have fought for in the past 100 years. I belive that the US (my beloved country) should do everything possible to cause the brave people of Ukraine to win this war completely with no forfet of land. I studied history while in college. It was one of my minors. I focused on military history and WW II was a big part of that. I remember how the meek and narrow-minded pacifists in the USA almost gave the Nazis control of the free world. Wladimir Klitschko's response to Rogan is PERFECT: calm, rational, fact-based, respectfully critical, and offers to sit face-to-face with Rogan and talk to him man-to-man. Klitschko doing a multiple hours interview with Rogan could prove to be incredibly beneficial for everyone (except Putin and his supporters). It would be fantastic if Rogan took up the challenge and invited Klitschko to come have a conversation.
My hunch is Rogan will puss out; he doesn't like to be wrong and I've heard him express many half-baked conspiracy theories over the years. He has adopted the most voiced "MAGA" opinion on the Russo-Ukrainian War, and now he is stuck; backed himself into a corner and probably not man enough to admit he was ill-informed and acting as an unintentional advocate for a murderous psychopathic dictator. Or worse, he knows exactly what he is doing and is doing it intentionally. To be honest, there are FAR TOO MANY Americans who are expressing this type of narrative and every single one of them need to be confronted the same way Klitschko challenged Rogan: tell them they are wrong they are advancing Putin's evil narratives, and ask them to sit down for a more detailed conversation. But don't expect any real results. In my experience, those who express this narrative don't care about the facts of history, how this war started or the realities of the war itself. They are as close-minded, dogmatic and as their opponents in the "Trump is Hitler" cult. I suppose we could characterize this dynamic as: guys like Rogan are expressing the "Trump is Jesus and Biden was Satan" cult narrative, while their opponents are on the other end of the spectrum with the "Orange Man Bad" rhetoric.
I don't think Rogan is "evil," or is acting intentionally on behalf of Putin. But he just isn't that knowledgeable and too many of his guests lead him down the primrose path of stupid conspiracy theories. I actually agree with Rogan a good bit of the time, but he tends to reflect the more ignorant, over-generalizing and reactive element within American society.
