I had a similar railfanning experience. After filming 243, I checked the cam in Spartanburg to see if 18D had passed the cam, the BMW train from Greer to Charleston, SC. I thought the train hadn't shown up, but then, an hour later, I heard the horn, and litterally panicked. I was unable to get the power, and almost missed the horn show from a HornShow Legend in the area. Lucky, I was able to get the train and got some of the legend's legendary show!
Hey Loco! I have a Railfan trip coming up in July at Chattanooga, TN along CSX and NS mains, yards. I’m wondering how you figure out the train IDs. I was wondering if you could help me figure that out. ❤
Hey there, I know of some train IDs that go through Chattanooga because they go through my area, but as for the area itself I'm pretty unlearned. My best advice I could give is go to Coffey's Cliff, where you'll be right outside Norfolk Southern's Debutts Yard and simultaneously adjacent to the CSX mainline.
