Hey Dan! Just received my boots yesterday, can’t thank you enough for the work done on them, they definitely needed saving! Beautiful craftsmanship and way more comfortable than before. Will definitely be coming for future work next time. Dave
Hi Dave. I am also looking to get my Grenson triple welt Fred boots converted to the same sole .. Dan how much will it cost, looking at getting you to sort them out .. the sole is in good condition! Really enjoy your youtube clips after a long ski teaching in Austria !!
cracking Job Dan and good for you not slating the repairer who repaired the shoes in the first place its just as you said you never know if he has been shown that way and may be lacking the right machine, good for you sir. Its all to easy to slate someone's work without knowing the facts hopefully he has watch a couple you vid and become a better repairer. which is always a good thing. Thanks.
Great job ! Annabelle has a smile that is simply infectious. She smiles with her eyes as well . I love seeing people that are so happy . Makes my day !
Maybe I missed it, but I’m always curious of the price so I know what to expect from this quality of work. The finished product looks spectacular, a true pro!
We all love you, Dan.....never doubt that! 😍❤ Glad you have a sponsor that supports the work-out part of your life! P.S. Don't watch TikTok. Have you posted shorts here on TH-cam? Many other TH-cam content creators do. 👏👍
My daughter wife and myself LOVE watching your videos at the end of the evening, very relaxing. And my daughters night is not complete until she hears you say “let’s get sticky “ we live on Long Island in New York USA. God bless
I'm a saddler here in Queensland Australia and you do great work. Cutting out the edge of the sole to stitch what a great tip. 👍 No wear and tear for a good long time.
I stumbled onto these videos at random and I'm absolutely in love. I've worn a lot of leather boots for work and casual and I wish I had had the means to have them repaired like this. Amazing work.
it's always a pleasure to watch your craftsman skill in shoe repairs. it also reminds me off how bad my cobbler was where i have fix up my shoes. The company called itself as a master shoemaker. i paid high prices only for getting cheap exchange soles and they charged my for services like stiching the shoes extra. But i never saw anything of the charged service. i had ask them were are the new stiches and they answered my. you cant see them i just have to believe it they have done it. Basically you never saw anything like "love" or "effort" in the shoe repairs. I did it 3 times than i lost my trust in this craftsmanship. At the end i had throw all fixed shoes in the bin and bought me new one. I'd would love to find a decent cobbler in my area. I do have some nice shoes but i'm afraid to let them repair if it necessary because of the bad experience i got so far.
My life right now is focused on home renovation. LOTS of home renovation. Watching your videos is such a relaxing end to the day :) Sorry you didn't get any eggs 😢
Very nice job love the boots only thing different is I was forced to wear black shoes for so long. Now my desire is to buy anything other than black lol
Watching this trying to feel better man. My galbladder is giving me trouble. 7 days of hot showers being dehydrated. Your vids keep my in good spirits.
Always enjoy your vids. The stache is perfect for you. It adds so much to your expressions, really makes them come alive and brings our more of your personality. I hope you keep it.
Hi Dan. Firstly welcome back, seems an age since your last video. Secondly lil disappointed, I’ve emailed twice about my Russel and Bromley suede loafers, where I’d like a custom sole and heal, but I’ve had no reply at all. This was last year that I emailed. I understand you’re busy, and I didn’t want to just send them in. Maybe they’re not branded enough for you to work on. It’s a shame though, as a reply either way would have been nice. I’ve had them repaired in the meantime.
The answer as to why the nails don’t poke our feet in shoes built this old way does explain an old thought I always had going back years. The wonder of how does the cobbler keep the nails from making the footwear uncomfortable.
Hi Dan. Love what you do. I find it therapeutic watching you work your magic. Out of interest how much did this job cost ? Thanks and hope to see more vids
Gave my favorite boots a treat with your recommended products and they look almost brand new! Unfortunately not able to reheel or sole where I live, but they definitely gained a new status lol! Thanks for the advice and videos 🎉🎉
Dan, you make your videos very entertaining as well as educational. I've looked at other shoe repair TH-cam videos and you are far the best. Thanks for taking the time and trouble making them. 🥾🔑👍
Ive never owned a good quality pair of shoes or boots and i've never realised how much is involved in taking care of them. As a Carpenter Joiner, I always find various craftsmen/women skills fascinating and my jaw still drops when I realise the time, passion and dedication behind the scenes that we never witness. Dan, totally fascinating and a beautiful job 👍 BTW which country are you in
After having found your channel quite a while back, I got this video in my feed. You've really improved the quality of your videos to really showcase your work! 🙂
CooL! I like watching you rebuild footwear. There's just something about it and you're a nice guy too so that helps majorly. I also like it when you take us on a rip with your awesome car. Thanks. From Canada...
It’s now (11-11-24) and I’m 1 month in on my first pair of Iron Ranger 8111’s. I have literally worn them every single day since new and love them! I think the only thing that would make them better is if you did to my boots what you’ve done to those boots!? 🙏😳🔥💪🏻🇺🇸
4:47 since you calling out, surely you should be unpicking from top down and out (away from the leather) as you going from the bottom in then up is causing scratches to the leather.
That sole is the best looking part of the shoe and the iron ranger is a stunning boot. Night have to send mine to you at some point. How much would a repair like this cost Dan?
I like the feibergs mink oil myself but you also have to consider im not looking for a prime finish just to get them destroyed the next day. Its just to keep the leather supple and a minor bit of waterproofing added. I used spend hours oiling a pair but then i got smart i just glob it on like the old dubbing and use a heat gun and melt it in. It works so good 😂
Hard on alert at 2:28!! Very impressive I must say, Dan!! Do you usually just keep it right on the bench like that? I figure you'd only bring it out for special occasions.
Amazing work. When glueing the cork or soles on the shoes, do you ever accidentally get glue on the uppers? If so, how do you clean that off the smooth leather? Thanks for sharing.

Excellent news, cheers for the feedback and very happy to help mate!

They look great!
Hello Dan,
Dom Nj 🇺🇸 great content What kind of thread do you use for work boots? Have you ever used Kevlar thread ? @Dan_the_cobbler
Don’t ever apologize for being away from TH-cam, Dan. You should be allowed to have a life outside of it all. Glad to have you back. 🤙🏻
Thank you mate!
Amazing job Dan! Red wing’s finest saved 🎉 Annabelle on the camera, Dan the cobbler = Team Dan-abelle 😂
I like it
Dan-abble! That's a t-shirt, right there :)
Night and day. Job done right. Love watching a true craftsman at work 😊

i swear, those *clacks* of this old stitching machine got to be one of the most satisfying sounds ever
How did they ever engineer these machines? Amazing
Great job ! Annabelle has a smile that is simply infectious. She smiles with her eyes as well . I love seeing people that are so happy . Makes my day !

Nice repair, Dan and good to have you back. Nice 'stache there as well. Have a great day.
Cheers vickie!
If you’re wondering where I’ve been I’m more active on TikTok currently, that and just fixing all the shoes you guys bring me! Cheers!
Enjoy TikTok. I stopped going on it few years ago 🤷🏻♀️😳
I have some NPS boots, soles looking a little thin so might have to send you them in a few months when they are ready for a resole.
Hi, please post these short videos on TH-cam as shorts.
I Hate tiktok
@@vladyslav4 TH-cam shorts are limited to 60 seconds, not useful for much I’m afraid.
The Eddie Hall bit caught me by surprise. You two are my two favorite British channels and I didn't think the two would overlap.
Granted it's just Dan promoting a brand he uses, which ain't bad. But GOD I'd love to see him instruct Eddie on how to cobble.
Welcome back Dan.
We all love you, Dan.....never doubt that! 😍❤ Glad you have a sponsor that supports the work-out part of your life! P.S. Don't watch TikTok. Have you posted shorts here on TH-cam? Many other TH-cam content creators do. 👏👍
Appreciate the idea, however TH-cam shorts aren’t very good for me, they have a limit of a very short 60 seconds.
@@Dan_the_cobbler 👍
Been binge watching you old videos and a new video drops!
Love to hear that! Thank you
I had a moustache like that when I wore leather pants.

Excellent stuff Dan. Much appreciate you taking the time to film these.
I'm a saddler here in Queensland Australia and you do great work. Cutting out the edge of the sole to stitch what a great tip. 👍 No wear and tear for a good long time.
Beautiful job, soles and yellow stitching look great! Anabelle is too funny also!
That has to be my favorite repair. The natural color sole and heel plus the yellow thread really puts it over the top.
Thanks for explaining about the nails in the sole of the boot. Great work.
thats a sharp clean sole and outsole combo. almost too crisp for that boot! nice work.
I stumbled onto these videos at random and I'm absolutely in love. I've worn a lot of leather boots for work and casual and I wish I had had the means to have them repaired like this. Amazing work.

Beautiful job, the dogs B..... I'd say. nice to see you back on U-tube
My iron rangers need their 3rd re sole. Love the look of the logger low profile. Last re sole was vibram half lug and it wore down fast.
Dont know how i came across your channel but glad i did i never knew watching a cobbler was so interesting and satisfying got a new subscriber
Very nice job love the boots only thing different is I was forced to wear black shoes for so long. Now my desire is to buy anything other than black lol
Such a beautiful repair. If those were mine, I'm not even sure I'd be able to wear them because I wouldn't want to put wear on that amazing work.
Watching this trying to feel better man. My galbladder is giving me trouble. 7 days of hot showers being dehydrated. Your vids keep my in good spirits.
That’s quite a nice David Niven stash you got going there. Maybe a touch of Earl Flynn.
IF i had any shoes repaired by you, Dan I would never be able to wear them. Your work if so good it would be sacrilege to wear them again!
Dude you are the da vinci of cobbler work!! Amazing craftmanship
Incredible workmanship !!! What a difference between a professional job and an amateur.
Thanks!
Great job.walked passed the shop earlier today.got two pairs of leather shoes needing attention .see you soon . Gordon
Man….what an awesome job… sending much respect from the other side of the pond…Keep up the great work… Cheers…🎉
Watching your videos I feel sorry for myself that I dont have any badly worn off boots that I could send you for repair, mate. Gorgeos work!!!
Never tire of seeing a master of his trade do his work. Great result.
Cheers!
Just here to watch the dedication to the craft ….. and chuckle childishly at the name of the glue
Just bought a pair of iron rangers. Great timing
convienient!

We’ve all watched a few boot sole videos. That is quite a nice change. Real enhanced look.
Red Wing boots used to be very well made. Looks like they've gone by the wayside like many other companies and products.
The answer as to why the nails don’t poke our feet in shoes built this old way does explain an old thought I always had going back years.
The wonder of how does the cobbler keep the nails from making the footwear uncomfortable.
Very good looking boots after you finished them.

Damn these came out really nice, thank you for the video and all the information you discussed as you were nailing everything together.
Fantastic repair it’s good to see a skill we can see in everyday life 😊

Outstanding, of course. As per usual. What nobody loves you? Don't be silly, everyone does you know! Steady on.
Someone loves you in Austin, Texas ❤
I have found a "Red Wings" shoe store here in Calgary, Alberta, planning on checking it out the end of the month, they are pricey here in Canada

Amazing, I can’t wait to get my redwings sent to you.

Beast is great, cool to see you sponsored by them :) Eddie Hall is a really nice guy. I love his stories. Also Great vid as always!

Fantastic job, those boots looked awesome by the end of the video ... nice work!!

Dan the man is back. I've been going through his back catalogue 😂
I had no idea you were on Tik Tok I will definitely start following you there as well. My favorite part of this video was you asking for candy.
Hard on alert at 2:28!! Very impressive I must say, Dan!! Do you usually just keep it right on the bench like that? I figure you'd only bring it out for special occasions.
From Tennessee USA here. I love the content.
Done, you do beautiful job but I think this work. You make mistake you have to put solstice before you put protection Sol.😊
Amazing work. When glueing the cork or soles on the shoes, do you ever accidentally get glue on the uppers? If so, how do you clean that off the smooth leather? Thanks for sharing.
