    I love the Tintin books; they're all incredible. My personal favourite probably has to be 'Tintin in Tibet'; it's such a sweet story and, no matter how many times I read it, I always shed a tear

    Herge is in every single Tintin book and movie. In the movie, the painter who paints Tintin is literally Herge, and other Tintin characters can be found behind him.

    The name Herge gave to Tintin's dog was MILOU, not Snowy, not Terry, not Tobbi, nor Spokie and so on in many languages. The name used in French speaking Belgium and France is MILOU. The name comes from Herge's first girlfriend Marie-Louise. Name changes for cartoon, comic strip, and comic book characters are common all over the world.

    TinTin doesn't need a backstory. I dont understand why ppl are so obsessed with a characters back ground. Aslong the story is good and the protagonist is good then who cares about his past?

    • @jennadune8701
      @jennadune8701 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Emma Frost it’s interesting to know. Because he has so many unknowns. Like he is smart. Among other things. Who are his parents? What happened to them? Backstories are important to the character because it helps you understand who they are. But since TinTin’s backstory is not told, it makes us question who he really is and where he comes from.

    • @missxmarvel
      @missxmarvel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Aletesyo Mweemba I always thought our boy Tintin is like 17 and lives on his own. His parents are alive and living in Brussel.
      He visits them when his adventures are over.

    • @jennadune8701
      @jennadune8701 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Emma Frost that’s nothin. What is his life story?

    • @missxmarvel
      @missxmarvel 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aletesyo Mweemba I don’t see what’s so interesting about a life story. Do you really want Hollywood to milk the franchise and make tintin go on a first adventure Moaning and show that he’s humans like they did with other origin stories?
      When something is a mystery then don’t explain it. Characters are interesting when they are mysterious.

      I judge he's around 20. If he's 15, then Hergé has a weird view of 15 year olds.

    A couple corrections: Tintin In The Land Of The Soviets was a strip caroon long before it became an album. And Tintin was originally depicted as a boy of 14 or 15. Pressed, Herge said he might have reached age 17 by the time of Tintin And The Picaros.

    I believe TinTin around the time of the Steven Spielberg movie was about 17 to 22. I fill in the gaps by saying Tin Tin's mother and father were spies who through their adventures left him a small fortune to live on with some MI6 connections too. A natural born genius he grew up wanting to solves his parent's murders but got distracted solving crimes in the mean time and eventually gave up hope. Now deciding to use his powers of deduction to be a reporter who solves mysteries and crimes. I believe he started adventuring around 13. He became so good at it he assisted the MI6 on several missions. Anyways thats how I feel in the gaps.

In the french speaking part of belgium, (wallonia, this is also the place of origin of the character) tintin is a word from a dialect, also referring to his hairstyle.

      A Danish 14 or 15 year-old who traveled the world and kept a diary about it. Tintin was probably 12 - 16 for most of his adventures. His creator said he never made it past 17.

    Oh, very interesting. Perhaps one of those instances in which someone gets a hold of a little bit of power and is dead set on weilding it?
    Have read the rough of Alph-Art and didn't find it all that interesting but have found it odd that other Tintin adventures have so infrequently been rendered into film.

    even herge's illness was a mystery.
    at first, they thought it was leukeima or porphyria.
    but what really killed him was h.i.v. he became a victim during his weekly blood transfusion.
    sadly, a week before he died, he was talking to spielberg about a tintin movie. during that time, spielberg was working on "the temple of doom". a week later, herge's wife fanny called him and told him herge passed away. fanny sold the tintin rights to spielberg.

    The first comic I every got, from my grandfather, is a black and white copy of " Tintin in Africa" :D. I read all the other books and watched all the episodes of the animated series while growing up. In Belgium (where I live) they made a musical of tintin, also went to watch that. But yeah I don't have a clue who this Tintin figure is.

    Actually, if you watch the video: Interesting Origins of "adventure of tintin" characters
    they explain herge First thought of tintin as 14-15 but then he decided the age 17. Watch the video and like this comment if u agree.

      MidnightWolfs7 Actually, if you look at the first panels in Au Pays Du Soviets you'll see that Tintin's so small his feet don't even touch the floor, making him 10 or 12. My guess is that Herge' didn't assign him a specific age when he first began

    Maybe Herge never intended for Alph-Art to be finished. Maybe it would've ended that way even if he had the chance to complete it. Or perhaps he would have just scrapped the whole thing anyway. It was just a collection of rough draft sketches.
