Many of you artists asked about how the Finest Paints are Made. Here's something for you :) #danielsmith #danielsmithartistsmaterials #danielsmithwatercolors #watercolor
Thank You for posting this video. I exclusively use Daniel Smith products and this was a treat to see everything that goes into the best watercolor money can buy😁🖌️🎨🖼️
Absolutely fascinating. I've been waiting for this since you spoke about it on the FB live videos. Thank you for allowing us into the sanctum sanctorum of your business.
Thank you so much for sharing this. The deeper my knowledge of the materials I use to paint manifests itself in my creations. I really appreciate this.
I very much like the Smith watercolors. They put out mixes like Cascade Green that are quite unique and probably not at all easy to mix just right at home.
Certainly 'better' if one desires consistency in how the paint/pigments react with water - Also certainly if best-long-term-conservation demands are to be ensured - Tap water has, though varyingly depending on geography as well as gvmt-regulated water-chemistry mandates, all kinds of natural variability and arbitrarily added chemistry for treatment, purification, odour- and taste-modification, ph-balance, etc. etc., which may affect how paints behave and interact on the paper, besides potentially affecting the paper itself, too - Distilled water eliminates pretty much all those variabilities and compromises with tap-water - Then again... it is a matter of degree, and whether or not the degree of difference is important to the individual painter or not -
Wow this is beautiful!

Does anybody know if using distilled water to paint with is better and why ?
