owning a Westerly 33 my self i have to say you have done your self good very good boats me and my wife have sailed over the north sea from england to france and all the way around to portugal then to monaco and greece all in the weserly over 8 months 2 years ago tho now back in england out the water on the hard having a full refit ready for next year
Wow that's really nice to hear! We really like to hear other peoples opinions and experiences with the Westerly. So far its always positive comments about how sea worthy they are. Good luck with your full refit! I'm sure she will look like a beauty.
@@horizonseekers2158 yep cant say a bad word about it and very sea worthy as been in 35 knot winds 12 miles off the coast she was rocking a bit but handled it and im just watching all your videos now just up to number 4 :D

I almost went to Portugal back then to buy her, but I was missing some funds desperately trying to. Jay seemed very honest and trust worthy and the boat was just so amazingly priced. Looking back you've caught a lucky strike there. I got an EMKA 28 ht later, but it's just not big enough to live aboard long term. In the end now I've invested like the same amount, that she was for sale back then.

Hi. Love your channel. I used to own a Westerly 33, they are a super safe roomy boat. My wife passed recently and I am thinking of getting another one to live aboard. I live in the North of Portugal and have seen several for sale. Are you still happy with yours and would you recommend for a liveaboard?

It’s great to hear other people’s experience with the westerly 33, we are terribly sorry to hear about the passing of your wife, our deepest condolences to you! Yes we have seen a few for sale also, we enjoy comparing ours and seeing what improvements we could make to Rosetta. That’s wonderful, hope you are able to find the perfect westerly. We are thinking to make an episode based on that, and what our experience is so far living aboard the westerly 33. At the moment we think it’s perfect for a couple but sometime we do wish we had just a little bit more space for everything we accumulate in life. Have a wonderful day Paul.

@@matthewlea4073 Hi. No she is the 33 it’s almost the same as the Discus but just slightly earlier. The difference is the Discus has access to the aft cabin through the main cabin whereas with the 33 they are separate. Are you a Westerly owner?
@@matthewlea4073 very similar boats. The Renown is just a little older. And the W33 didn’t seem to be out long before the Discus arrived. As it happens we are getting Rosetta ready to go on the market. If you would like a chat let me know.
