This would definitely fool me! It looks exactly like a USB power bank, and works as such as well! It has a digital display that lights up and shows the battery percentage, which is a nice touch.
I've put a microSD card in it, and indeed it does record just fine. Also a neat touch is the app. There are 2 ways to connect, locally, so you can view it on your wi-fi throughout the house, or you can set it up to go out over the Internet so it can be viewed out in the real world, over a cellular data connection.
Highly recommended, this is a device that does what it says and also more! It masquerades around as a USB power bank, which truly means it is a hidden camera--hiding in plain sight!

How do you charge it? Do you plug it on to the port by the lens or the port on the back with the red led numbers? I want to charge the units battery

Can you record video while monitoring live what you are filming on a cell phone. e.g via direct wifi from camera to cell phone, or via usb cable from camera to cell phone ?
No, it only records to the microSD card. If you're viewing live, it will continue recording to the microSD card. It won't record to anything else.
@@jaykay18 Not true dude. You can remote into the IP address of the camera. Typically it's 192.168.10.1 for these devices. from there a web interface comes up using the IPCAM linux software. Jay doesn't really know what he's talking about sorry Jay.

Do you need a microsd card to record. Do you have to remove the microsd card to put the video on a computer, it can't be done thru the cord? How do you start and stop a video?
Yes, it takes a microSD card if you want it to record. You can transfer the video to the computer using the USB cable. The camera doesn't start and stop, it records continuously. When the card is full, it starts overwriting the oldest information.

Just hold the power button down like you'd do on a computer that's frozen up.

There isn't a specific button for record. How do record the videos after putting the sd card in?
It records automatically. If it's not, try formatting the SD card on the computer first, and make sure it's formatted in the FAT32 filesystem.

If I recall correctly, that function is automatic when it's dark in the room.

Does it record on sd real 1080 p with descent sound quality? I bought sth looking identical, called even "pro" (4K;), but it appeared that real video "4k" ons sd i 720p ;) and no sound just noises. Total shit.
It sounds to me like you're looking for a broadcast quality picture for under $100. It's not going to happen. This claims 1080p, and that's the resolution. How good it's going to look, the video should give you an idea, but it will be at 1080p.
I have no idea how to set this up to work remotely ? ... I have it set up at home on wifi but if I cannot find any information on how to use it when I am out and about...
That would something to direct to the manufacturer.
That is not something this camera does easily. You need to open up your router or attach it to a security cam piece of software. It works with BLue Iris and Reolink i know for sure. Easier to attach it to a DVR/NVR software and then there are many tutorials how to get your security software out on remotely.

No website, but you can try to contact the manufacturer, they may have a PDF of it available they can send you.
I made a mod just soldered the two pins of power on button in order the camera to turn on automatically and now it does not save videos to sd card anymore. Anyone have solution?

No longer seems to work, the app is no longer supported by iphone and my e-mails to the company have gone unanswered.... any tips on how to get the recordings I have saved on the app back??
Yes, use Android. I'm serious. If it were Android, everything is right there, saved as a file, accessible from any computer, even a Mac, Suddenly. that $1100 phone doesn't seem so flashy.

Yes, that was implied. Since Apple won't even unlock a phone for FBI investigations, you can consider ANY data you put on that phone to be Apple's property.
How would it fool anyone with the light constantly on while its recording?
The light can be shut off through the app if need be.

@@zeroice8553 He's wrong again. This device does not have a way to turn off all the LEDs. You might find a newer device with a newer firmware or you can try your luck with upgrading the firmware. They are typically in Chinese and you'll need something like Google Translate to decipher them unless you speak Cantonese. I ton of Chinese camera system use this same software with a basic web OS.
How do u remove face plates without damaging
Small flatblade screwdriver, or maybe a razor/utility knife blade.

But that blue light stays on while recording then? That's not good :-(
The point really is to leave it plugged in so it just looks like it's charging; the blue light wouldn't clue most people in other than "it's done charging".
If u connect ur phone u can shut the light off in settings

nice review. how does it do in low light
It's got some IR emitters. Generally in no light you won't get much clarity. If there's low light and the IR emitters kick on, you'll get a decent enough picture.

You can't see IR light. Cameras can. That also means if someone opens the camera app on their phone they WILL see the IR lights.

@@jaykay18 just found sound settings in the hdwificam pro app. If i turn it up to about 85% its better. At 100% i get a lot of reverb/feedback

Yes, there's no need for wi-fi, it will record to an SD card by itself.
This is a 480p camera that records and stores in 1080p. Typical scam using subpar parts and lying about the specs. So grainy, etc. Cannot have plugged in and record. Don't need an app. has linux OS and web interface. don't install any drivers. Noticed the drivers are sending out to a foreign address. Use Fing and see what the IP is once you connect to it. Use Fing to search for open ports. Some of these you can use as ONVIF devices. make sure you put a firewall on this device unless you don't care for spying on you.
Every manufacturer lies on the specs to make their product look better. That's nothing new.
