- Diagnosis of a non functioning Mercedes Benz CLK Class Central Locking system and FOB (W209, W208, W211, W203, W220, R230, etc...)
This might happen to you one day if you leave a lamp on in your Mercedes and end up with flat battery, things might go wrong as Mercedes Benz usually doesn't like a weak battery. Try this before taking your car to a mechanic or MB dealer.

Fob stopped locking the doors 10 years ago, checked the fuse and guess what, it was blown. New fuse, Fob Works!! Thank you!

thankyou and also I did find the fuses and yes the 20 was burn central locking ,also got the trunk open with key I had to add wd40 into key hole and that work must to been stuck so the key does work now

Iam really facing the same issue after the battery of my w169 (A170 from 05 )got empty last month, till now I try to manage this issue, I have even replaced the front SAM but unfortunately without success, I was very happy to see such videos like yours but I can't find any faulty fuse in my w169. If someone can give more advice I will appreciate it.😢

Trying to work out what your actual problem is with your W169. Is it the central locking doesn’t work? Have you replaced the battery in the key? The battery in the key is only for the central locking, nothing else - it has zero to do with starting the car.

Exzellente Hilfe. Selbst in Deutschland suchen Viele nach dem Fehler und finden ihn nicht. Meine Mercedes-Werkstatt hätte gern beide Schlüssel, Steuergeraet und und sonstwas erneuert, Kosten 1000 € + statt 2 Cent für die Sicherung und etwas Öl für das Kofferraumschloss. 😻 Bin dir sehr dankbar. Since my battery was dead and i changed with a new one My car doors keeps opening and closing sometimes when im driving, and sometimes when the car is locked. The car looses the battery and The radio stopt working to.

This needs to be investigated using MB Star Diagnostic tool. Might be a bad module, but check all of the Fuses before.

Same problem in my clk cabrio 2003, 200k. it only opens the doors if I am near the driver's door, but the radio frequency does not work. That fuse 8 is fine and I don't know where the antenna amplifier that affects the key is in a convertible. The diagnostic machines I tried do not give any errors. They even made me a new key but it has the same problem. Where could I look? Thank you
Have you checked the boot lid/ trunk lid area behind the insulation?
yes, there is a radio amplifier and it seems to work. If I disconnect it I lose the AM radio stations. I can't know if that part is wrong, which affects the radio frequency of the remote control.
By taking fuse out or replacing it does it clear the codes or need a programmer to clear?
No reprogramming is needed.

I have a 2005 clk240, currently having trouble getting the rear windows to go up .... Changed the switch on drivers door and checked the fuses they all look fine .... Only passenger side front window works on its own switch .... Do you have any suggestions where i could resolve this problem
Hi. My suggestion is to scan the door modules of the car first.
Both my car keys and remote key cannot lock and unlock the doors, what do you recommend?😢
Pull that fuse out, check it, the module also will reset.
What scan tool do you use and are you happy with it, does it doallyou want it to.

What year is this car ? Does this work on c class 2009 ?
@melhawary156 2004. Try it, most modules need some sort of reset.
What kind of fuse do I need to buy because I ended up buying the wrong one.

I get my mechanic to remove the shorted alarm horn hidden inside the cover of wheel arc on the driver side. Insert fuse F8 in the boot. Manage to get the remote working again as the F8 fuse also supply power to remote system in the car. Regards.

What if only 1 door doest lock let the window roll down?
Check your wiring/ dorr module/fuse

Help anyone with x166 GL450 2016. I have no idea where the fuse for the door locking keyless system is located. There are none in the trunk. Has 4 boxed. 1 under the rear behind driver and 2 under passengerseat. 1 on the dash right and one in the engine bay. No labels to explain which does what.
Your car should come with a complete sheet of information in the boot in spare wheel area. Did you check that?
Hi. Ww bought ir used and there are no other papers except the one in the rear fusebox behind driver. This does not give any information about the fuses inder passenger seat.
I inspected all fuses and did not find any blown.

I had the same problem but the fuse was okay, it fixed itself when I unplugged and plugged the fuse. Hopefully I helped somebody.

Where can I please locate the fuse box?
When you open one of the 2 fuse boxes there should be a diagram on the back of the cover. Search for something like “central lock”.
I changed #8 and the 7.5 amp kept popping with everyone I used
Use an ammeter instead fuse once, see what sort of current it is demanding.
Google 'clk fuse #8' and a Benzworld thread. It is likely a bad siren (horn). Fuse keeps blowing until addressed. regards, clk320man
On my CL203 the Boot cannot be locked manually so this is a serious problem
So there is no key hole on any of the doors?

Hi Guys, thanks for Watching, likes and subscribes. Please consider checking your FOB first, you can do so buy posting the infra-red light to your phone camera, if you can't see the light through the camera screen, most likely the battery is flat or the remote is faulty. Also there are all sorts of remote syncing/reset instructions on TH-cam. Thanks and good luck.
